Advantages: Spacious, economical to run with good handling. A fun ride. Disadvantages: See text of opinion.
...had one dog and a Honda Civic the dog would get into the back of the car, and sit there quietly, until she was sick that is, but that’s another story. We then acquired Rosie, who’s a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and she decided that sitting on the back seat wasn’t such a good idea, when there were all sorts of other places that looked so much more interesting. We tried harnessing them, but getting two dogs who don’t want to be harnessed ... ...then this is our third Honda on the trot, and there is more than a passing similarity between them. Everything seems to come easily to hand. Driving the car is easy – particularly as you’re that bit higher up on the road than you are in a normal saloon car.

Advantages: Lovely drive, VFM Disadvantages: Still very expensive
...wonderful deal from our local Honda dealer, Riding & Co, who did everything right.
They gave us an excellent price on a brand new Honda CRV (£18,280, but she only told me much later that she forked out another three hundred quid on all the goodies inside), a great trade in price (all of the three grand she expected) and then just let us get on with it and applied no pressure whatsoever (thanks be to you, but you got your commission anyway – cheers ... ...for a car, and the Honda simply had more to offer on every single front, with the best value for money available. She checked out What Car to be sure (which she always does, being so careful with MY money, what a living doll!) and was suitably impressed. They gave it a great write up and said it had won an award as best in class (but then they all seem to do that, don’t they?) However, in this case the hype seemed to be merited for once at least.

Advantages: Nice looking car with practical benefits Disadvantages: Rear visibility
I would not think of Honda when it comes to 4 X 4 jeep type off roaders. Landrover,Suzuki and Chrysler Jeep yes! it now seems every motor manufacturer wants to jump on the offroad bandwagon and build a 4 x 4. But the Honda CRV is a nice little car as well as an off roader. I compare it to the Rav 4 and BMW or Mercedes offering. Special edition models of popular cars usually add a number of extra equipment items for little extra cost and that's exactly ... ...the car. With the Honda CRV, there is no bending down as the vehicle is much higher. I think this is why so many mothers drive them to school to drop off their little ones. Its suitable for such operation. Around town it is excellent. Its not too big for parking in tight spaces and the power steering helps out. One thing that does count against it is the lack of rear visibility. These days, there seems to be a 'lifestyle' machine to suit virtually ...

...repairs. Just as well as Honda main dealers are not the cheapest. Of course the good thing about getting an older 4x4 is that you can forget about dings, dents, paint chips and scratches and start enjoying life - using your vehicle to the full to support your hobbies and interests. Most CR-V owners would probably agree with me that buying an older CR-V is likely to be a very safe proposition. ...

...times before we bought our honda CR-V my other half would go and look around the forcourt of the Honda Garage which is 2 mins away in the car from our house and admire them.
I couldn't see what he saw which was a good classy family car with a good boot space etc.

Advantages: plenty of room in cabin and boot. Good climate control. Decent seat upholstery, well laid out cabin Disadvantages: ot as funky looking as the RAV4, wheel spin before 4 wheel drive takes hold.Handbreak is a bit unreliable on hills
...car-it is almost faultless. The Honda is bigger both in the cabin and boot and that is why we changed. It has met our expectations completely and again is difficult to fault.
The engine in the CRV is powerful and reliable. It is smooth, overtakes like a dream and all you should ever need.
The road handling is definately not as good as the RAV. The latter has permanent 4 wheel drive and it shows. The Honda tends to wheel spin sometimes from standing ... ...to kick in when the wheels start to lose traction, but there is a short but perceptable delay before this happen on occasions.
Interior is well laid out but a bit "staid" looking. Controls are easy to operate. We like the rear arm rest with drinks holders. So does our 3 year old!
No room to store compact discs apart from in the doors, and the stereo looks a bit tacky.
The 15 inch wheels which come as standard don't look as good as the RAVs 16 ...

Advantages: The interior is excellent, loads of space, lots of storage areas. Disadvantages: Very disapointed with the middle lap belt, most cars now have an inertia reel there, this has a lap belt and the catch is different, so many times in the night people have got the two swopped and been unable to click the catch
I bought this car after we had a Vitara, and in comparision to that its great.
The interior is excellent, loads of space, lots of storage areas the dash is well set out.
The engine really pulls, and you forget what speed you are doing, its a little noisey at the top, but tey maybe due to the standard tyres.
BUT...
My main niggles are with some of the switches being under the dash, these are the front fogs and sunroof lock out. They are really ... ...I didn't like that there was no space for the cd auto changer, so I had to loose the space tray under the passenger seat.
The fuses are a real paint to get to.
Had a few problems with the front fags failing to earth, but the dealer was good each time sorting this out
Not very much "boot" space, it looks bigger thanit is.

Advantages: Comfortable and Spacious Disadvantages: No exciting gadgets in the cockpit
I have owned my CR-V for about 8 months, and have covered over 11k miles already. Its one of the older models, 1998 and is the base model. I bought it because it fits in well with my leisure activitys, camping, mountain biking and windsurfing, as well as owning a dog. This is my third Honda, and to be honest I would be retisent to buy any other brand of car in the future! The interior is comfortable, and functional, not packed with loads of gadgets ... ...being the basic model, has got no A/C but has got an enormous sunroof, which is electric, and far more fun than A/C. 4 x Electric windows with one touch drop on the drivers door. Central locking but not remote on this model, but that suits me, as I can put the key in the pouch of my wetsuit with no worries! Comfortable hardwearing fabric seats offer loads of adjustment and you can recline the rear seats too! Massive boot space, and loads of underfloor ...

...Romeo 156 Sportwagon to a Honda CR-V.
Perhaps unlucky, I had constant suspension problems with the Alfa. The What Car Customer satifaction Survey, however, was the final straw. I decided it was time to get away from a manufacturer who was at the bottom of their chart to one close to the top. I deceded to go Japanese, and '4x4' so it was something completely different!
I read all the review and am delighted.
The Honda has not turned a wrong wheel! ... ...doesn't corner like one), and it uses no more fuel (29mpg) on my short journeys. It is as roomy as a Discovery inside. The paint work is perfect (though it's two years old), although some of the trim is showing its age. I bought the SE sport, so it has plenty of gadgets - elec sunroof, climate control, all elec windows etc. Firm, comfy half-leather seats complete it.
My hubby loves it too, as do the kids, and we're going to venture abroad with it ...

Advantages: Fuel economy, carrying capacity, comfort, ease of handling Disadvantages: Too tight rear seat belts
I bought my CR-V in a hurry: I had a Freelander that had just blown a head gasket for the second time in a year, and the Land Rover dealer who had sold it to me said I should get rid of it ASAP.....
The version of the CR-V I got was an ex-demo Executive model, diesel, with dark rear windows, 4 months old with 5,000 miles on the clock. I was in love from about 5 minutes into the test drive. The seating positions were as near perfect as you can get ... ...which is quite an achievement.
The ride is quite firm, which makes for great cornering stability, but the seats compensate to a great extent.
My regular passengers include a very arthritic lady in her late 70s, and my parents who are both in their 90s. All find the ride excellent in the front, but a wee bit bouncy in the back. The side seat belts in the back do have the tendency to pull far too tight and attempt to garotte passengers under 5'6".

Advantages: Bigger than estate car, not a full blown 4x4 off-roader Disadvantages: Fuel econoemy not good
I won't go on about the technical stuff, as I'm sure you can get that from official sources but I will quickly tell you what I know about the car. It has a 2ltr engine, it's front wheel drive but somehow intelligently engages the rear wheels when front wheel slippage is detected. There are two models that I'm aware of LS and ES. The ES has better features as standard i.e. Alloy Wheels, Air-Con, sun roof, roof bars etc
I've had my CR-V on a S plate ... ...drives like a nippy run around, around town, but on the m-way it's as comfortable as a family saloon. The air-con is effective for such a large car. It's brilliant for those out doory types like myself, I've added a bike rack that attaches to the spare wheel, and just to impress my friends a picnic table makes up the boot floor, take this out to reveal more storage space underneath.
Running costs are slightly more expensive than cars I've had in ...

Advantages: Solid and reliable Disadvantages: fuel economy and tailgate design
Having had a Honda before we knew the level of quality we could expect and are not disappointed. Nine months on from buying from new we think this is a typical well built product from Honda, but with a fairly specific target. We live in the country but are not interested in" mud-plugging". However country roads are the ones that don't get gritted in winter and for a lot of the time the farmers are not too worried what they leave behind. Any wheelspin ... ...in without any dramas. If you don't drive like a hooligan you won't even notice whether you're in 2 or 4 wheel drive mode.General handling and ride was a surprise, being comfortable and controlled with little roll, although the verbiose hand book warns of the higher centre of gravity of such vehicles. There is some tyre noise from the chunky tread but wear seems good. Long journeys are not a problem as the seats are comfortable despite their basic ...

...yourself down to the nearest Honda Delearship and be prepared to be amazed. Honda have really done it this time, gone is the image of "old people drive Hondas. The new CRV is a delight. It's smart bold styling gives it the credibilty to pick up the children at the 30 grand a year school. Quick review of Honda CR-V
I own a SE CRV 2002 MODEL.(56000 mls) Comfortable & easy to drive, plenty of leg room & easily carries 5 with room to spare. The replacement cat gas analysers are expensive to replace if the MIL comes on the dash, the garage says its best to replace both the front & back cat sensor together, £200-00 for the job, failure to do this will lead to expensive running costs in the long term.Fuel economy is not good ,however at 30mpg at 1.6 tonne kerb weight is not all that bad I suppose. I would like the diesel version with a bigger tank that could give a decent round trip without refuelling too often as with the current petrol version.Otherwise its a good vehical so far. ...
