Advantages Advantages Good suction on the Intensive setting, and the turbo tool has been great.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Short cord which is easy to vacuum over, topples over when using the hose, not manoeuvrable.

Our old vacuum cleaner broke down recently. It cut out during use, then when we did get it back on again the lack of suction was evident. Luckily at the same time, I was offered this Hoover Hurricane HU4207/1 through the Amazon Vine programme and so my old one was shipped back off to Tesco Direct for a full refund. I live in a flat, and I don't have anywhere to store a big upright vacuum (my old one was a cylinder one which I could easily store on a shelf in the boiler cupboard) however I wasn't going to say no to a free one when I had none at all! The Hoover Hurricane HU4207/1 has a motor ... more

    Advantages Advantages Looks okay

    Disadvantages Disadvantages most thigns

Hoover Hurricane 200 watts…… --Why did I buy? ---- Our last vacuum cleaner was doing us fine but I really wanted to buy myself a Dyson but realistically I could not justify spending that sort of amount (over £200) on a household appliance. The only reason I even thought about getting a new vacuum cleaner was that the one we had kept sucking in the power cord as I hovered, so after a few minutes the cord was retracting back into the appliance and was getting hot and I thought this could be slightly dangerous. Luckily, I had bought the vacuum cleaner from Argos and because it was faulty and we ... more

Advantages Advantages Strong suck and beater

    Disadvantages Disadvantages High pitched whine

Bought this Hoover in June for my elderly Mother who was convinced Hoover brand are the best { :-) }. So far the Hoover has worked quite well and really has cleaned the carpets, but as Tattletittle says, it is noisy with a high pitched whine. It does seem to get hot very quickly but no cut outs as I have read that other Hoover models have done, and I have used it continuously for over an hour doing the whole house. It has a powerful suck but it could do with a mid way point between the setting for short carpets and medium as there is no happy place for the type of carpet in the house. It tends ... more

Advantages Advantages 2000 watt motor, hepa filtration, turbo brush,

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit noisy, no cable rewind

The Hoover HU4207T is a powerful machine, easy to handle, with built in tools, including a turbo brush which is ideal for stairs, cars, beds. Hepa filtration with no loss of suction. It states it is kind to your carpets, time will tell on that. I am very impressed with the suction and removal of pet hairs. Having vacuumed the carpet with the old machine, I then used the Hoover Hurricane and gathered half a canister of hair and dirt. It is easy to empty the dust container, no need to touch the contents, one button to press and out comes the muck - which is useful if you have an allergy to dust ... more

    1 Star I hate it! 03/07/2011

Advantages Advantages Quite good for doing the tops of curtains with little brush attachment. Nice colour (red).

Disadvantages Disadvantages See main text - rather a lot.

I took care with the choice of this vacuum cleaner, and am really disappointed that despite the brand name being the most well-known, that it would, in my opinion, turn out to be such a poorly designed machine. I've put up with it for a few months and had enough of it. The attachment for pet hair stopped working after a few uses. The hose, being very stretchy, tries to shrink when using the attachments, due to the suction, causing the machine to tip over. The dust bin falls off really easily - and don't try to use the large plastic handle on top for lifting the machine, even though that's what ... more
