    FOR HANDS THAT DON’T WISH TO WASH DISHES WHICH DISHWASHER My Indesit dishwasher broke down after working hard for a few years. Admittedly my appliances don’t usually last for very long. I think we are doing well if we get five years out of a dish washer or washing machine. Mind you there have been six of us living in the home so electrical appliances do have to work hard. My husband is quite good at fixing things but, after having a look at the dish washer he concluded that it wasn’t worthwhile to have it repaired.     Advantages Advantages Very efficient and effective, lots of functions, quiet, easy to clean

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Drying process not 100% reliable, salt tricky to fill up

    As sure as the grass is green, the sky is blue and Justin Bieber is evil personified, dishes must be washed for there are sneaky microbes lurking everywhere that must be destroyed. Whilst adorning oversized rubber gloves to arm achingly scrub away at grease and grime is one option, a second, more convenient option lies with this new fangled modern contraption – the dishwasher.     Advantages Advantages Easy to use, cleans the dishes well and look neat and tidy

    If I mentioned washing the dishes most people would cringe with disgust at such a heartless and utterly dull chore, (the men folk amongst us looking over at the women in the hope of them doing the tedious task), but nether-the-less those dishes still need washing before they can be used again, (unless you use paper plates and throw away plastic cutlery).     A dishwasher is quite a boon for those who hate to do the dishes. All said and done, it is a chore that most people dislike. Washing dishes is a dull, tedious chore, period! Thankfully, I have the Hotpoint FDL570G dishwasher that does a great job of cleaning my dishes. It offers a good deal of loading space and also helps save energy. I can load as many dishes as I like without having to worry about space. The upper loading space and lower loading space are both satisfactory.     Advantages Advantages Feels solid, quiet when it works

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Unreliable, interior cramped, drawers uneven, tablet holder too small.

    Looked great in the shop and had a really solid feel. In use the top drawer is uneven and awkward to load. Can't fit wine glasess in top tray, bottom tray only takes our smallest dinner plates, tablet holder too small for 'all in one' style tablets. Our previous machine had no such issues. STOPPED WORKING within 2 months. Pump started making a racket and the machine would stop after 20 minutes instead of cleaning for 1hr 45mins or more. Checked filters (clean), water supply (no problems), and drains (clear). First engineer agreed faulty but couldn't find source. Changed the pump 'in case that ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheapish and does a pretty good job when worling.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Fundamental Design Faults

    When this machine is working it ticks all the boxes, Quiet, great at cleaning dihes, all a dishwasher should do, but needs cleaning inside regularly. BUT after 6 months door seal started coming away. COMET called out and advised that with this model complete inner door needs replacing for this fault. This was done under warranty. Six months later new seal is again coming away and guess what out of warranty and COMET don't want to know. It,s down to me if I want to pay for repair. I find this completely unacceptable on a relatively major item and feel that there is a design fault on this item ... more

    My 5-month old dishwasher , bought from Comet, spontaneously began leaking one night, after 3 days of disuse! All the lino in my utility room had to be taken out. Because it was under warranty I rang Comet and was made to wait longer than 2 weeks to have a service call. Finally the serviceman arrived and didn't have the part (even though I had described the fault over the telephone), and said he had to go away, order the part and some one would ring me when they were ready to reschedule!
