New Dishwasher, yeah! ... But I don't like it.

Advantages: Looks nice and washes well
Disadvantages: Read on ... you'll see. Call me picky, but I have to live with it.

...after three months with my HOTPOINT FDW60, I’m still having teething pains, and miss my old dishwasher terribly – even the bits of sellotape that were holding the handle together. As our previous dishwasher was over 10 years old, it was with excitement that I skipped into Comet to browse the aisles for a brand spanking new replacement, with my husband, his hands in his pockets protecting his wealth, moping along behind. The HOTPOINT FDW60 caught ...
...the door wasn’t completely straight, but curved back slightly at the edges. Price-wise, the model was £239, which meant that it was not cheap enough for me to doubt its quality, but not expensive enough for me to walk away, moaning that someone somewhere was, ‘having a laugh!’ But as no two prices are ever the same, shop around. If you use price comparison websites, I’d strongly recommend still visiting a store and having good look at them in the ...

Dishwasher, cook, cleaner. Not anymore. narrowed down to 2

Advantages: no more dishwasher hands
Disadvantages: none

You know the old joke of I dont need a dishwasher I have got the Wife. I havent had one very long, a dishwasher I mean, and I must admit I used to think that by the time I messed around filling it up and sorting it out I could have done all the washing up by hand. But I was very happy when my husband said about getting one even though by then two of my three children had left home - having said that though they are boomarangs and keep moving back! ...
...without one. We chose this one because it had all the settings and features that we thought that we would need. I cant say how it was fitted but my husband who is no plumber, did it to the instructions and it didn't take long at all and all done very calmly! Washes Intensive - very dirty dishes and pans. The machine will pre wash with hot water at 40 c then go up to 65 c, 2 cold rinses, 1 hot rinse at 70 c and then dry This takes about 100 minutes ...

Super efficient Hotpoint FDW60

Advantages: Very quiet, easy to load and easy to use
Disadvantages: Lots of buttons!

...I ended up buying this Hotpoint FDW60 and I am very glad I did. Advantages:- Very quiet in operation - much much quieter than my last one. It has A cleaning rating and yes it washes very well. Very easy to load, the drawers do come out easily and are very spacious for you to load all your stuff on. I have so far washed pans, plates, frying pans and very mucky kids stuff and it's all come out sparkling - so far no rejects as happens with some ...
...on it with holes in for you to put your tea spoons in, which is a great idea if you drink loads of tea like we do. Disadvantages:- Has loads of options, which I am sure I will never use and quite a lot of buttons so if you are used to the dial versions, this will take a little getting used to but once you do it is easy to use - so not a real disadvantage. The second isn't really a disadvantage either but I have to point this out - you must load ...

Hotpoint Aquarius Dishwasher FDW60

Advantages: Quiet
Disadvantages: only top drawer half load wash

This is the first dishwasher that I have owned and so as a novice to the functionality of a dishwasher I find this one easy to use and does the job. It has a half load option that just washes the top drawer (usually cups and glasses), although after using it for a few weeks now I would rather a half load just washed the bottom drawer as I tend to run out of plates and pans before cups, but that's something to remember for the next machine I buy (i ...
...or bottom drawer wash but everwhere had sold out and i was constantly being mucked about by sainsburys appliances, eventually leading me to go to currys to get the FDW60). As i'm still learning on how best to place items there have been a few items (large serving/mixing spoons and baking dishes that are ceramic not pyrex) that have needed rewashing, but that is most likely my fault and not a design fault. There is one problem that i have found, ...

Hotpoint Aquarius Dishwasher

Advantages: Hotpoint has a great warranty and very reliable. This machine has 12 place settings and operates really quietly. It is easy to install if the fitments are already in place
Disadvantages: Not as good as our last hotpoint as regards the baskets they don't seem to hold as much

Hotpoint is a great make as the parts and labour warranty is usually better than any other make and the reliability is brilliant - we had our last Hotpoint for 12 years without any problem. We've haD this one about 18 months and it's been on every day and we've had no problems at all. The design is modern and easy to keep clean. There are lots of settings to choose from, from pre-wash to intense to economy and a half-load option (just top basket ...
...a fault (i.e. blocked filter) by flashing a particular combination of lights (detailed in booklet). The top basket is adjustable so that it can be lowered or raised to accomodate large items in top or bottom basket. We find the top basket to lack options and can't fit as much in as with the old dishwasher. The cutlery basket has large side holes that allow spoon handles etc. to poke through if you aren't careful, and will stop the bottom spray arm ...

...hand. With excellent results from Hotpoint with my other appliances we ended up getting one from them FDW60 Aquarius Dishwasher in Polar. All I can say is WOW...for a start I will never wash pots again, I cant believe I never had a dishwasher before, the results are better than me standing at the sink, I have NEVER seen glasses and stainless steel gleam like that in my life. Hotpoint Aquarius Dishwasher FDW60

Advantages: Quiet, Smart Modern Design and Simple to use.
Disadvantages: None

We've always found Hotpoint appliances to be very smart in appearance, to have straight-forward functionality and be reliable and this dishwasher has proved no different. I chose this model as it looked good, is quiet, I've always got on well with Hotpoint products and it is energy efficient. It has a triple A rating (Cleaning, Energy, Drying Performance). It is a full size dishwasher and accomodates 12 place settings. It has an easy to use sleek ...

It has a timer option so you can set it to come on at a convenient time, tells you when you need to refill the salt or rinse aid, shows you which stage the dishwasher is at throughout the cycle. Inside the machine the top tray has enough options for use ...

Quick review of Hotpoint FDW60G

I was really excited when my new dishwasher arrived......... sadly it's not all it promised. Not only is it noisy, the foam seal around the door is flimsy, the exterior finish is bubbling and cracked, the detergent holder is useless, not to mention the below average cleaning standard. Not exactly what the price tag and hotpoint reviews i had read suggested. Long gone are the days of standing at the sink, although there are times when i should have just bitten the bullett and done it myself; dishpan hands or not! Cheap dishawasher tabs or expensive, it appears that there are only ever 5 place settings available to get a decent wash! The quick wash is only effective for a pre wash in my opinion. ...

Review of Hotpoint FDW60G

I would buy hotpoint again

Advantages: Gets some quite stubborn dirt off dishes with ease. Does its job. WELL!!
Disadvantages: Drying can take sometime which is a downfall, and would not call this a quiet wash.

After buying a hotpoint aquarius Washing Machine, I decided buying the same make of dishwasher would be a good idea for cosmetic reasons. First of all let me say that this is the first dishwasher that I have owned or used. I have however been at friend & parents houses where I have been asked to rinse dishes first, make sure the plates are in X position and various other small annoyances. None of these problems have I found with my own. The washing ...

i would reccomend this dishwasher

Advantages: nice appearence, sleek controls, lots of extra features, energy efficient
Disadvantages: not a budget machine

i have had hotpoint appliences before and this dishwasher is much like the others in that it is easy to use and reliable. This dishwasher is energy efficient, full size and very quiet when i use it. There is a wide range of programmes and temperatures to choose from with an electronic control panel that lets you select pre-wash, quick wash and economy. There is a timer so if you can control the legnth of the cycle and decide when you want it to ...

Quick review of Hotpoint FDW60G

I can't believe these people have got the same dishwasher as me. I have found it to be rubbish. The first one i had broke down 3 times within the first year (error codes 4&6 flashing) so, give Hotpoint their due, they replaced it as is their policy. However my new has got the same problem - within 5 weeks of having it the same problem occured resulting in the heater being replaced. Two weeks ago the same problem again, the engineer came out and declared it to be a different problem to the heater (which was covered under the 12m parts warranty) and i would have to pay £90 to fix it. The engineer left and still the machine didn't work, had another engineer out today who, lo and behold, declared it to be a faulty heater which should have been covered by the warranty, but Hotpoint refuse to refund my £90. Buy this machine at your peril (seen lots of other reviews on other websites saying the same thing) ...
