Three months after the last repair which cost me £90 and the warning buzzer is going off and both lights flashing so the same thing has happened again! The last time the engineer removed some large blocks of ice and used a hairdryer to speed this up,but i have no idea how to get to the ice as its not visible,this model has been a complete nightmare and i think i am going to have to buy a different make,Avoid Hotpoint at all cost..

a frost free unit that is unable to defrost itself! A design fault that Hotpoint will not take responsibity for - unless you pay them. Really bad attitude to customer service their response to my complaint 'We do feel that we have used our best endeavours to investigate your complaint thoroughly and to set out our position to you clearly.' and 'In the circumstances there is really nothing further that we can add and now consider the matter closed.' Steer clear of Hotpoint - put your money to better use - I now have a Bosch dishwasher and fridge freezer - replace with Hotpoint NEVER nor will my 12 year old good customer retention there then Hotpoint

...replacement with alternate product from Hotpoint who tell me they can only replace if the engineer can not repair, removing the ice that should never be there in the first place is not a repair, will wait and see how the engineer proposes to resolve the problem with a permanent cure but expect to find their only solution is the hair dryer treatment. ... GREAT PRODUCT!! GREAT BUILD QUALITY AND GOOD STATISTICES IN THE APPLIANCE MARKET RECOMEND THE PRODUCT BUT CHEAPER AND SIMILAR PRODUCTS OUT THERE I SUGGEST DOING RESEARCH ON SIMILAR APPLIANCES BUT DIFFERENT MAKES, AND MODLES I'VE HAD MINE FOR A WHILE AND ITS STILL RUNNING LIKE NEW, I'VE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS YETT!! GREAT STORAGE FOR LITTLE AND LARGE SHOPPING. FRIGE BULB COST ME £5. BUT I THINK I PAID MORE THAN I SHOULD OF. WHITE, WELL GETS DIRY. I was immediately impressed as soon as this fridge freezer came through my door. The first thing i noticed was how tall it was and the colour, (graphite) went well with the decor of my kitchen. The fridge part is very spacious with four safety glass shelves, a bottle rack ,salad drawer and fresh food drawer. Beware of food poisoning. My fridge broke down the very first day with similar problem as everyone else with ice built up and continuous warming up which sounded the door alarm .There must be a major design fault and Hotpoint does not want to know. If you stuck with one of these like me , keep on monitoring the temperature as it goes up to 16 where as should be at least 6.

If you want a good Frost Free refrigerator then don't look at this one. Main problem. The fridge after 3 to 4 weeks will stop cooling the food. Main reason, ice build up and the vents gets blocked which means that cool air is not circulated to the fridge from the freezer. Which means you have to defrost the whole thing for 24 to 48 hours. What use is that!!! Hotpoint won't admit there is a problem with it. If you search then others have had the same problem. Not what you would expect.

The same problem as every one else.fridge compartment stops working.Only just over 12 month old engineer repaired 7 months ago and faulty again,very dissapointed and trying to get money back,do not expect much luck on that one,Good job took extended warranty

The second one that i have had ( the first nearly caught fire), this one is a free replacement. The fridge compartment keeps getting warm, and i have to defrost a "frost free " model in order to get it to work again, when i can afford to, i shall replace it with a different brand altogether, and send this one to the tip where it belongs.

We got ours Hotpoints FF 200E new yesterday and it kept warming up and beeping all night very 6-8 hours, We got it from Boots Kitchen Appliances. we don't know if we will get our money back .I would NOT recommend this fridge freezer to anyone.

The fridge bit is supposed to keep food cool, our fridge bit has failed 4 times. It already would have been cheaper for Hotppoint to have spent double the money on building the machine. What do you expect with Eyetie rubbish! My British built Lex lasted 15 years at home and 10 in our factory after.

I would most definitely NOT recommend this fridge freezer to anyone. Yes it looks very nice and is very spacious, however I seem to have spent most of the last 9 months waiting in for the hotpoint engineer to call! I have had the fridge replaced once already because it kept warming up and all my food went off. The problem is now recurring in the replacement and I am looking to get a third replacement - needless to say I will be going for a different make and model.
