Whilst this fridge was not one that I had chosen as it was given to us by my husbands parents when they re modelled their kitchen and decided to change their fridges, I was please to receive it and I am very pleased with it's performance and would recommend it. One problem of inheriting this fridge freezer was my in laws had lost the instruction manual so it has been a bit tricky to find out some of the details of the fridge freezer. I have had to rate the specific criteria for the manual to load the review I have put fair as I am uncertain on how to rate it as I have never seen it. The RFA52 ... more

Mrs B and I bought this Fridge/Freezer when we moved house. We had always had a fridge and a freezer separately but thought we would save space by having one combined. Why we chose this When we went into the shop there were lots of options to choose from and Mrs B and I were a little baffled. We were not too sure which one to buy but we had criteria and this one fit it. We wanted something which was energy efficient and this one was- it said A on it. We wanted something which wasn't so tall that Mrs B would struggle to reach the top shelf- this one was within her reach and we wanted something ... more

    Advantages Advantages Spacious and quiet.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The pointless ice trays.

I recently moved in my first home and had to buy a Fridge Freezer for the first time. We knew the type we wanted, a free standing Fridge Freezer with a good sized freezer, preferably costing less than £300. It did prove quite difficult finding one in that price range that had a good sized freezer, a lot of them were small with large fridges. Living in a flat with limited space in my kitchen also meant I couldn't do for anything too large and after much searching we finally decided upon the Hotpoint RFA52S in silver. After comparing prices online across many websites, the price seemed to be ... more

Advantages Advantages Cost efficent and compact

Hotpoint RSA52S Fridge Freezer After my fridge recently gave up the ghost, I decided after some homework that I would 'go the whole hog' and get a fridge freezer. I made this decision after finding out that the price between a larder fridge and a fridge freezer was only around and extra £25 and that it would be far more cost efficient, as I could then buy the three for two's and buy one get one free offers for my freezer. These had been totally unavailable to me as the food would not keep in a fridge and had to be thrown away, which I found was such a waste of food. As I am a single person ... more

Advantages Advantages narrower than standard, good space, built in ice cube trays, efficiency rating

When I moved into my house, there was a fridge/freezer already in the kitchen and came included with the house. At first I thought this was great as it saved me having to shop for a fridge soon after moving in. However, after having switched the fridge on and waiting for 24 hours, it was obvious that it was not going to get cold. Fortunately, there was a smaller fridge in the utility room of the house which did work and I could use that while looking for a new kitchen fridge. This was not ideal as 1. It was small for 3 people using it, and 2. It is downstairs from the kitchen so the milk kept ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish design, good storage space, good placement of thermostat.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Freezer clear shelves a little flexible and can be prone to breaking.

I ordered my Hotpoint Fridge Freezer shortly after moving into my apartment purchasing at the retail price of £240. I had a small space in my kitchen to fit the unit and the fridge freezers dimensions of 545x580mm I had no problems in installing the unit. The unit measures up at 1740mm tall and can use the space above for a top shelf to store various cook books etc. I bought our unit in white. This colour can show up the occasional marks but the smooth surface of the fridge is easy to maintain and clean. The unit itself is advertised at storing 155 litres, more than we really need as a 2 ... more

For 4 years my wife and I have owned our silver Hotpoint RFA52 Iced Diamond fridge freezer since we purchased it from Comet and apart from the odd surface dent from its many knocks during our house moves has changed very little in operation of appearance. In saying that very little has changed with price either – it was around £300 when we bought it and can still be found online for around £250 today although it is a little difficult as it has been superceded by newer models or should I say the same one with an S or P added to the end. The RFA52 is 174 x 54.5 x 58cm with total storage capacity ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to Clean & not too Noisy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough Room between the Shelves to house Tall Products & Not enough Space in General!

We recently sold our last LG Fridge Freezer as it was too big for our Kitchen and so had to buy something that would take up less room. I really didn't want to spend a lot on our new one especially in the run up to Christmas so I opted for a Hotpoint model for £279.99 which I think is very reasonable for a Fridge Freezer. The RFA52 model came in White and to be honest I'm not a fan of White fridges, I much prefer a Chrome or Silver look to fit in with my modern Kitchen, but these shades are a lot more expensive so I settled for the White. The Fridge Freezer stand at about 1.7 Metres tall and 0 ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None Yet.....

I've had my fridge freezer for about 3 months now and to date have been very happy with it. Within a few minutes of me plugging it in you could feel it getting cold. I was glad I chose this one. There are only three people in my house including myself and this fridge freezer is ideal. It has 4 drawers in the freezer more than enough room for the kids oven food and it also has built in ice compartments. The fridge part of it is also very good and holds a lot of stuff. There are 2 compartments on the door and it has a section in the bottle holder where you can store 2 litre drinks. This I have ... more

Advantages Advantages Does what it's supposed to!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I have had this fridge freezer for seven months and haven't had any problems with it. The fridge capacity is enough for a family of four (2 teenagers!) and stays at a stable temperature. It is kept in a utility room which can get very cold, but I haven't noticed any changes in internal temp. Condensation does build up on the back but drains through the bottom hole. The freezer capacity is maybe a little less than I would have liked but means I have to use food more quickly - probably a good thing!! One major niggle are the ice cube trays on the front of the freezer drawers, they seem like good ... more
