this machine worked brilliantly for the first month (very low noise and vibration, good cleaning) and then its motor broke down and so did its main 'motherboard'. The service is terrible because it took 2 engineer visits to fully diagnose the problem and now we are now waiting for them to call us because they just dont have the required part in stock. It's been 6 weeks now without a washing machine

Advantages: Looks good, well laid out, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Has the life expectancy of a Mayfly. Dryer not very efficient.

...unhelpful and unsympathetic service from Hotpoint themselves. The unit broke 4 times in the first year, always the dryer at fault. the 5th time faulty was just 2 weeks after the warranty expired. Hotpoint didn't care it was the same fault and told me I had to pay £90 pounds to have their engineer fit a part under their 5-year warranty. some warranty! after much arguing they sent an engineer who wrote the machine off! they replaced it after much arguing. ... ...would say go for a hotpoint washer instead unless you really dont have space for a washer and a dryer and dont mind taking ages (im talking hours here) to dry your clothes which would use quite a bit of electricity if used reguly. ... Read review

A quick browse around the internet shows that many users are experiencing the same issues that we are having. Mainly very unreliable and poor service from the service department. Our machine is less than a year old and has broken down for the third time. This time it is going to take 2 weeks just to have the engineer come and look at the machine, let alone get any spare parts required to fix the thing. Not at all appreciated when you have a family of six!

Advantages: Very Easy to use...
Disadvantages: Drying on high heat can extremely crease items (and your machine)

...i used to work for hotpoint in the repairs centre so i know about alot of the faults but i will say with this one its quite good as long as you clean it regularlly. *The reason i say its quite good is that 6kg wash load with a 12000rpm spin on it. it has a woolmark gold care which in our terms means hand wash wool programme is endorsed by Woolmark to care for your hand wash only woollen items. *itt has super wash again which means that if you have ... this is a bad design as every time the filter gets blocked unlike most washing machines you cant empty filter yourself they have to come out to do it . i had an engineer out 3 times in 1 year. it is not a very good dryer either and when filter does get blocked it just starts throwing water out of door and drawer. even the engineer was telling me they are a rubbish design. i wish i has not wasted my money on this washing machine. my advise is don't buy one.

Advantages: Capasity for a large washing load
Disadvantages: Slow drying time

This washer dryer cleans really well and has plenty of features as well as been easy to use. It is elegant and practical for a small household. It is also reliable as ours has had regular use over the last 2 years and we have experienced no breakdowns. ...warranty. As its electronics only Hotpoint can repair it. They want to charge £160 to repair with a 1 year warranty. A quick look on the internet and talking to some independent repairmen shows that this is a very unreliable model. So who knows how long it would last after that year! this is a good looking washer dryer it dose what it says it dose and dose it very well!! ive had mine for about 3 months now and i do use it now and then (not as much as my girlfriend but i do use it ) and as far as washing goes its good gets the clothes clean and has a fast wash on it that works in just under an hour thats not bad going, the down side to it ive found is that if you remember you are suppose to be somewher last min then its good for ... Disadvantages: No small load option

I have owned this washer dryer for a few months now and I am very impressed with it. I have used many of the different wash cycles and I have found that they are all very efficient and the clothes clean well. There is never any powder residue after washing. The dryer cycle is also efficient, althought I find that I get more satisfactory results if I separate the load and run the drying cycle wih the washing maching only half full. The drawer is ...
