I have owned the hotpoint WT960P washer for 3 mths now and, it is by far the best washer i have ever had and very easy to use. It comes with a very easy to understand manual has a 7kg drum which is great and LCD display, the size of the drum allowes you to put more washing in and, cuts down on the amount of times you have to use the washer. After my very ancient hotpoint model started to breakdown and was repaired a couple of times I thought that I had better start looking for a new machine before i'm left without one for weeks on end. Having said that though it inevitably happened and my ancient machine decided it wasn't going to work. Disadvantages: Possible faults with the fluff filter and LED display

This appliance comes with a 1 year guarentee. As an ex-electrical appliance employee (company will remain unknown) I can say that this appliance is reasonable affordable compared to other washing machine makes. Extra insurance is reccomended as there has been a number of recorded problems with the LED screen display aswell as the metal drum of the machine which possibly may not be covered by the first year guarentee. I find the hotpoint WT96PO to be a fantastic machine overall, to start with it is easy to use and very inovative and modern. Although the price tag may not seem to appealing to most I feel that it is very good value for money and would recomend it to anyone looking to renew their washing machine. Advantages: less noisy
Disadvantages: minimal

The main reason for choosing this machine was that the noise levels were supposed to be better than other products on the market. It has a 47dB noise level, that's really quiet. And believe me, when I first used this machine I couldn't tell it was on, apart from the fact that the drum was spinning around. You could hear the noise of the water filling, which is a cold fill only machine, then there is silence while the drum starts spinning. Later on ... Read review

...saw this machine on the Hotpoint TV adverts, and did some research. With the 7kg load size, and large door, it makes washing much easier - as does the very attractive triple A rating. The cheapest I found was at empire direct, for £298 plus £15 delivery. Very fast service from them, delivered when they said, and at a time to suit me. i purchased this hotpoint machine in august 2005 if was on special offer in our local shop so only cost me £250. it is ideal if like me you have kitchen and lounge together as the machine is so quiet you can watch tv or relax with ease. Hot point WT960P is one of the best washing machine on the market. The item has already proved its perfect performance in washing, spinning and easy of use. The manufacturer added all necessary cycles, controls and audible alarms. The child function will suit perfect for families with young and curious children. The LCD is bright enough and displays all necessary information. The washing machine is labeled with the prestige sign AAA. having in mind the reasonable price this product is must have for every person willing a good economy product on a best price.

...anymore. Eventually, we came across the Hotpoint range. We were a bit overwhelmed by the huge range available and different model numbers - so we whittled it down. We really needed a family-size washer, fast spin speed (because we tend to tumble dry everything), a wool-wash option and with having a mischievous toddler, a child lock. I bought this product online a week ago on a recommendation from this site. It was delivered ahead of schedule. It was fairly easy to install. I have since used it 3 times. It is straight-forward and simple and delivers excellent service! It's stylish and functional. The clothes were nearly dry after a spin cycle - definitely saves time and money when it comes to tumble-drying afterwards (i.e. when the weather doesn't permit hanging washing out to dry). The child-lock is very useful and easy to operate. The spin cycle is so quiet - I could hardly hear it running at night. I hope it carries on working this well!

I bought this machine for £299 from Sainsburys online in June 2007. Since then we have had the hotpoint engineers out 5 times to replace various parts including a new drum, bearings, door seal. It now needs another new drum and bearing, but this time I decided to stand up to hotpoint and they have now agreed to replace the machine. (hopefully with a different model). It seems to be the 1600 spin cycle that it cannot handle, recently all of our washing on 1600 cycle came out with oil stains (from the broken bearings I believe). I am currently awaiting a cal from Hotpoint to arrange the swap. If you use the machine quite frequently like we do, i would avoid this model.
