Advantages: small, very friendly. Disadvantages: sometimes need more computers
...my fourth year in the human science department, based in the wavy top building (yes, it does have a wavy top). It's based close to the union compared to many departments which are over by the library, and also it's nicely next to a pub which serves the local drink 'nasty' (snakebite and black, or diesel to some) and very cheap food (but tasty too).
The department itself is split into three: ergonomics (of which I am in), psychology and human biology ... ...wednesdays is the computers. Human sciences are rare at Loughborough because they have their own little computer room just for us. It has about twentyfive computers which is plenty until wednesdays when there can be a huge queue. However you can gain access through a keypad code 24 hours a day, which is rather handy when a deadline is approaching.
