Advantages: Has everything that one would want, Great Remote, User friendly etc. Disadvantages: Hang-ups and Detailed Programme Info Forgetfullness!
This is my first Personal digi-box but collectively my family have quite a few, so I can quite safely say that this is the best box on the market that you can get featuring only a few disadvantages.
This is a good looking box, not the most attractive I’ve ever seen nor the smallest but overall it looks good. It has a stylish matt aluminium front with a nice strip of light blue plastic running left to right; this features all the buttons in so it ... ...a lot of buttons. I know a lot of set top boxes that can only be controlled by the remote, and if you lose that, well you might as well throw the box away. With this box it is just not the case and is very useful if you want to use it as a digital radio as well. The front also features a LED clock or a channel number display depending if the box is powered on or not; this could be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on how you look at it. My ...

Advantages: Compact, stylish, easy to use Disadvantages: No card slot
...tried out several.
The Humax F2-FOX T is a stylish compact brushed metal freeview box. The company Humax has been around for a number of years making good quality freeview and satellite receivers.
For the technophobes this is easy to set up - connect up the right cables using the easy to understand diagram. Scart to TV, aerial into freeview socket and you can also connect a VCR if needed. Once you have switched it on the box will search for all ... ...channels pay channels which you can get through your aerial). But besides this it does everything a Freeview Box should and has been extremely reliable. You can buy this at John Lewis or through any Humax reseller for about £60 - £70. For the best bargain try googling the name. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, good quality Disadvantages: Faulty memory
...http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds15946.html you will see that Humax have been promising to "Fix" this problem for over a year. The problem is the information key for the programme synopsis that should show programme detail. It works for an hour or so and then disappears. Unfortunately this is exactly the function that makes EPG so useful - who wants to see just a title when you should be seeing the kind of programme information that you get ... ...to the TV magazine to read the synopsis instead of just pressing the Information button. Pointless and irritating when other boxes will do exactly what I want. It was my first digital box and now I have used it a lot the missing ingredient is exactly the one you wll want.
In other words don't buy this box, it's not fit for purpose. Despite it's other quality ratings what is the point of purchasing something that is missing a key function! That's ...

Advantages: Well built, good look, intelligently structured firmware. Games!?!?! Disadvantages: I did not work very well & kept crashing!
Everything about this box is excellent and worth the extra money. It is well built, it has an LED display indicating the channel, it looks great, the remote is good and the functionality or rather the useability of the menus is well thought out. Oh and there are 3 neat little games for you to play.
BUT
It is unfortunately let down by the low level software that is used to display the picture / programme info / audio sync.
The box (I tried 2) or ... ...about 4 hours of being on: 1st the programme info would not be available (the info box would pop up on request, but no text) then getting certain channels would take a long time then becomming unavailable, then lip-syncing would go before the whole thing would come to a grinding halt after about 24hrs.
The only way to reset the thing (even though there is an 'off' button) is to unplug it.
ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGH
I wish I could recommend this unit, I ...
