    Hyundai Santa Fe----2.4 CDX (petrol) Now you wonder why would I go for a 4x4 well try spending a winter in Livingston then you will see. Last January we had some major snow fall and because I work in Edinburgh I tend to drive in. Well I had a Hyundai Coupe and let me tell you that car did not like the snow . Looked out my window in the morning and the snow was about 6/7 inch deep. Tried to get it out of the street with no luck so had to take the day off work. That's when I decided I would get the 4x4.     Having been temporarily assigned a black Hyundai Sante Fe for use in a construction company, I found that this vehicle can take a lot of blows. One thing which worked for and against this vehicle was its all-wheel drive. It was simultaneously the strength and weekness of this vehicle because it affected its fuel economy but made for far better handling. Because it was built - as far as I am concerned - on the basis of a car, its ride height was set rather low and its centre of gravity was about as low as well.     Bought as new one during the last year of production. External design needs some time to adopt to it by some people. Very good equipment, nice driving comfort and acceptable noise level for reasonable price, decent road handling, unexpectedly efficient 4x4 powertrain in heavy snow conditions but with good winter tyres. Quick and excellent heating abbilities, good manual A/C. Good lights, especially fog lights and blinking lights. Excellent internal front seat lights. Suitable for heavier and toller people due to big seats and roomy interior. 4 members families can really enjoy on longer trips ... more

    I bought my car second hand 18 months ago. I still have 6 months warranty left due to the 5 year manufacturers warranty. I have had it serviced twice at the dealership from where I bought it. The first time I was pleasantly surprised - it was a lot cheaper than I expected it to be. The second time however, the price was nearly treble for about the same amount of work and I was not happy!! I had complained about a lack of power especially when going up hill. The service report came back that nothing was wrong, apart from a small oil leak in the transmition that would be fixed under warranty ... more

    Advantages Advantages All on road aspects of driving top class from morning start to end of journey. All round visibility for reversing, motorway driving, changing lanes in town also excellent. Looks inside and out like the top of the range. Holds it own with Jeep,

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Harder on fuel than the average car but then that is to be expected.

    Having spent 6 mths driving other SUV drove the Santa Fe. Just Love the drive and the look. Has ABS. Both Driver and Passenger Airbag as standard. Really top class driving experience. The Santa Fe Corners extremely well. It also has a good turning circle. Drives great on the Motorway and in Town alike. Along Country Lanes proves not problems either. I find it very easy to parked whether in a space at the local supermarket or on street reverse parking) it has great all round visiability. Road holding in snow and ice conditions excellent.     18 Months ago I bought the Santa Fe as a replacement for a mondeo Estate, which gave me back ache. No more backache even on the longest Journeys. I am done 43000 miles with no problems, Even the tyres still have 4mm tread on them. The santa Fe has been used daily, on all road types, for a high sided car it is very stable. My wife loves the feeling of saftey the car gives. The warranty on the Santa Fe is excellent. If you are looking for an SUV and not worried about the badge on the car this is the one. Its not bad of road as well. The petrol consummption is a little high compared with a normal ... more

    My main comment about this car is value for money,value for money,value for money!!!! 5 Years Manufacturers Warranty, 3 Years Free ServIcing & 3 Years RAC. All on a car which comes with so many fab features as standard - full electrics, cd player, air con - even down to your sunglasses holder and a light up vanity mirror!!! The car handles well and is very comfortable to drive, even if very big and very wide. Even for it's size, the take off is very quick and it is powerful ob the motorways. The only downside is that it is a bit of a gas guzzler!! I would love to see it with a smaller engine ... more

    I bought my 2002 Santa Fe two years ago and absolutely love it. It's the perfect size: you get the benefit of SUV space but the agility and handling of a car. I have the high-end model and it looks fantastic. The Santa Fe has unique lines and doesn't get confused with all the other SUV's out there. It's very comfortable and drives great. The only problem I've had in 2 years is a squeeky belt, and it was replaced by a Hyundai dealer at no cost. Of course with the gas prices being high right now, it's been a bit expensive. The one thing I'd change is the gas efficiency but that's the price you ... more

    I have owned mine for 4 years now and its covered 50,000 miles with no problems at all. So far nothing has required to be replaced due to being faulty. Excellent car.

    MY dad bought this car last year a 2002 madel. it is great. The interior is fabulous!!! The sterio, cruize and everything its cool. My dad bought a dream dvd system in the car so the ride is like sitting on a couch. I am now used to the SUV's (not jeep's!!!!) the sedans are so low i feel as if i'm touching the ground!! This car is just cool. The exterior has an awesome look. It looks like a monster when you stand in front of it when the lights are on and the engine is on. It looks and sounds like a furious monster.
