Advantages Advantages Easy to use, Importing for dummies.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None, Read the info and faq and do your homework then you wont be dissapointed.

Thought i would write this review as i was surprised at the other comments and have always had a good expierience when using this company. I have over several years used this company 5 times myself and have even imported cars for friends in the past. I was given details of the site through the Japanese embassy which gave me confidence in using them. The web site is easy to use and follow and has a live chat and auction sheet translation service. You have to leave a 100,000 jpy deposit to be able to bid on your car which seemed reasonable to me considering that you are asking them to buy a car ... more

Advantages Advantages Good system to view cars at auction.

Disadvantages Disadvantages outsource to the Phillipines, they are dishonest and will lie to you

Here is a collection of complaints about IBC Japan IBC Japan Reviews Complaints IBC Japan looks like such a great company at first. They have a great system which lets you view auction sheets and what cars are available at Japanese Car Auctions. They will provide translations and they have 24/7 customer service. That's where the fun and greatness ends. Eventually you'll find out their customer service is useless and that you have been lied to All of their support is outsourced to the Philippines including for accounting and shipping! I should add that these complaints I mentioned about other ... more

Advantages Advantages Wide selection of cars, good prices.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cars never ship, so nullifies the advantages.

As Im writing this review, its the middle of March. Three months ago, in the middle of December, I sent them the first half of the payment for the vehicle, after which they should have put it on a boat, then I pay the other half. Up to now they have not shipped the car, and can not even tell me when they expect to do that. Other people I know have both cars from other Japanese companies, and gotten theirs already. I was drawn to IBC Japan after a few people I know told me about them, and the professional look and functionality of their website. However, Id recommend you forget all that. Go ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent service, loads for pictures and honest infomation on cars.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some cars can be expensive.

I have been dealing with IBC for a number of years now and I have never had the problems expeirenced with the person who wrote the last review. The only reason I can see they has trouble is that they may have bid on a car using the online auction and chickened out after the purchase. IBC has a policy of requiring a 100,000 jpy (€750) deposit to receive bidding rights. If you bid on a car, win the bid, and then decide not to buy the car then IBC is stuck with it and therefore keep your deposit And rightly so. However if you bid and you do not win, the deposit is refundable. As for other ... more

Stay away from ibc japan! They don't care about customer service, they sent my car after 6 months (and it was already fully paid). My car was damaged on the ship, a lot of after market parts where stolen! Including 4 wheels with tires! I asked for insurance, but they told me to "chase" the shipping company my self, and that once the car is shipped IBC responsibility is over. read the full story here: http://www.ek9.org/forum/showthread.php?t=785

Terrible service, did not answer the question I asked only the questions they wanted to answer. Long long shipping times, couple months and very overpriced. I felt taken advantage of after paying almost 7000 dollars for one container.

Be careful using IBC Japan they have a little trick to rip you off! My first car I got through them went a little over what I had bid but being my first time thought that was unlucky. A few months later I brought another car and guess what, they charged me the absolute most they could ie my bid plus £125, I found out the total cif price should have been less than my original bid price but IBC wern't interested. Last time I will ever use them as they are dishonest.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dishonest, over priced, very poor after sales service

I found a Subaru Forester with a low mileage of 50000 km and high grades through the IBC website. IBC offered to bid for it and i agreed - my first mistake as the price fixed in the end was very high. Now i suspect they probably hiked it themselves considerably as i never got the auction documents. When IBC got it they even graded it higher to 5.0 (the best grade). All seemed great and i paid. When i got the car after shipping I saw that the tyres were bald, the windscreen was starred (and it passed the JEVIC test with the tyre and windscreen problems!) and it had scratches and dents.
