Advantages: Has : In-Built Preset Radio,Microphone, JPEG/Photo Viewer, 4-6GB,Easy to use program. Disadvantages: Cannot fix damages
The iRiver H10 overall is a very good product, has very little faults and I would recommend people who were thinking of buying iPOD's to buy this because I think it is much better value for money.
the iRiver H10 comes in 4 colours - Blue, Black, White, Red. It can come in either 4GB, 5GB or 6GB to fill with recordings, photos and music! The design looks simple and stylish. I think the scrolling feature of the H10 is much better than the iPOD designs.
... ...and memo viewer.
The iRiver program looks much more better and you can use it much more easily than previous iRiver programs, it reminds you of newest firmware upgrades and new features. It has an easy-to-understand booklet on how to make playlists, rate music and so on. Music details can also be changed from this program. If you want to delete some tracks from the iRiver to make more space (which will not happen quickly) then again, just go to ...

Advantages: Colour screen, small size, built in radio, good audio quality Disadvantages: Rubberised case - yuck
I have had my iRiver H10 now for a few months now and am very pleased with it. I think it compares well with other better known mp3 players but costs a lot less. There are 5,6 and a massive 20GB versions available. I have the 5 GB which I bought from Amazon for £120. It is small and light, weighing only 96g (or 3.5oz in old money). There are four colours to choose from - deep red, slate grey, midnight blue or silver. It is really stylish looking, ... ...left for storage.
The iRiver software programme is reasonable easy to use for creating playlists, rating your music, sorting by genre etc. The drag and drop is good for those who don't want anything too complicated. I have also found it is compatible with windows media player which also makes it more versatile
The H10 charges from either the USB or from the supplied mains charger supplied. An LED on the interface cord tells you when it's charging. ...

Advantages: Colour screen, lots of prepaid features. Plenty of firmware updates. very stylish Disadvantages: Is known to randomly come up with error messages (which can be fixed easily but is annoying), freezes sometimes
...firmware updates found on the iriver website are very useful and there are good support forums for irivers around.
Covers/facias for this mp3 player are unfortuneatly few and far between so make sure if you buy this player that you really know what colour you want.
The silicon case that comes with the player is very bulky and has a hook on the back which doesn't really help the bulkiness, also there is no screen protection which isn't great although ...

Advantages: Good Sound Quality, Easy to use menu, Durable Disadvantages: Poor Quality storage of pictures
...from your computer to the Iriver is quite easy to use and has an automatic transfer and optional manual transfer - although over the past few weeks I have had trouble with the auto function in that it has started transfering my whole library instead of just the songs that arent on my MP3 - the MP3 can store around 1250 (5gb) which is a decent amount of songs. It can also store pictures although the quality is quite poor and difficult to see the detail ... ...and you can record songs from the radio without taking up great amounts of memory, the recording are good quality too as long as you stay in signal of the radio station. There is also a text feature tat aloows you to store writing documents ( although I wudnt suggest you read a novel from it )
Conclusion - This Mp3 is great value for money and has features that rival the other companies selling MP3's in this range. I bought one and I don't regret ...

Advantages: Nice design, shape Disadvantages: Really slow to respond
...appearance the H10 proves that iRiver has come a long way with regards to design. Earlier iRiver players were hard to love for their looks, clumsy design. So on a plus side this model does win this round hands down. This device uses drag and drop to put music and photos onto the player. This makes life really easy for you. Just select the file and dropped it in the player icon (when connected to the PC) above all it's an ok player. I would really ...

...which helps in scrolling, and IRiver has wisely abandoned the oversimplified folder structure that it used on previous hard-drive players. Now you can easily browse by artist, album, genre, or song title.
Music sounds good if you upgrade to a better set of headphones than the included earbuds.
The H10 does more than play music: You can also listen to and record FM radio programming, record audio via a built-in microphone, display text files, and ... ...it's more of a novelty than a useful feature. Since the H10 lacks a video output, you can't display those images on a TV as you can with the IPod Photo; and if you want to move the photos to another PC, you'll have to carry around the proprietary USB and power connector.
The H10's battery is replaceable and rechargeable. The company rates the battery's run time between charges at about 12 hours.

Advantages: many playback features, sound quality, radio feature Disadvantages: slow, bulky, frequent problems.
I bought myself an iRiver H10 6gb mp3 player because it looked nicer than an iPod, and the features advertised sounded better. I have however encountered quite a few problems with the player in a year and a half of owning it, including, not being able to add music, not being able to delete music, my computer not being able to see the player when it was connected. I have recently found that it is compatible only with WMP, and not anything else. It ... ...on their computer, although I find realplayer easier to use, but it messed up everything on the player when I used it but it WAS resolved with a firmware update, although I can only use WMP to add music to the player properly.
Other than that, I find the player slow to turn on/off SOMETIMES, but sound quality, graphics quality, capacity outweighs that. I find the battery lasts quite a long time, although I wouldn't recommend playing it all day!

Advantages: Relaible, Cheap, Quick, Easy to Use, Easy Connection and Useful Features Disadvantages: Lack of Games Features
i bought my 6 GB Iriver H10 two years ago for £80 and it is worth every penny.
I didn't want to buy an Ipod as i had heard they involved a lot of software and connecting, adn so i opted for the IRiver as it uses Media Player and connects with one cable.
The transmission speeds are very good anda full album can be sent over in 2 minutes.
i have dropped it several times and the battery has never become loose, imy screen is undamaged and unscratched ... ...it.
The reformatting of the IRiver is quick and very easy and the other features of the IRiver are very useful.
I use the text for reading short stories and i use the radio to listen to my favourite frequencies.
Although the IRIver lacks the games and quiz feature i still believe it is great value for money. ...

Advantages: Colour Screen, Stylish Design, JPEG Viewer, In Built Radio, 5GB Memory, Voice Recording Disadvantages: None!
The IRiver H10 is one of many products trying to reduce the dominance of the Apple Ipod series on this market. I can honestly say that this is the best competition to an Ipod that I have seen, and here's why.
Colour Screen - Vivid 1.5", 260,000 Colour TFT LCD screen. This is one thing a regular Ipod and an Ipod Mini cannot deliver. Very clear and bright displays on every menu.
5GB Hard Drive - That's around 1,250 MP's which is 150 hours of music! ... ...Design - Available in Black, Blue, Red and Silver, sleek and stylish design with only a few simple buttons to navigate around the whole system. The verticle touch pad makes scrolling very quick. In short, the H10 looks and feels sexy!
Extras - Not only does this device hold more songs than most others currently on the market, it also comes with a few extras. An FM and AM radio tuner, voice recording software, JPEG viewer and a text viewer. So you ...

Advantages: Sound quality, Design, Colour screen Disadvantages: Quite big and bulky, Menu quite stiff when using, No way of searching for tracks, found many of the features unneccesary
I decided to opt for a H10 after a dismall experience with my Creative Zen Micro. I was very impressed by the design and the colour screen that is probably the only good thing I can think of about this product.
I was constantly irritated by the way in which you were unable to search tracks which meant that you had to go thorugh the contents of the player track by track in order to find the track you were looking for so if you were listening to a ... ...to a track starting with j then instead of being able to jump straight to the tracks starting with j you would have to go thorugh all the tracks a through j individually The software was awful to every time I loaded it on my PC it had a tendancy to make my machine crash and if it did load i would have to wait ages for it to see all the tracks that were on the player and it would often say that it was full when it wasnt

...to the popular iPod, the iRiver really does shine above the rest.
With a modern design in a variety of colours, you won't be limited to the "sterile" white looking iPod, and can always puchase additional skins to use your iRiver as a fasionable accessory! The sound quality is perfect, with excellent quality headphones included, there is no need to purchase additional sets as with many other brands.

Overall, the iRiver really does present excellent value for money, undercutting the price of the iPod quite considerably for it's higher memory capacity and sound quality - and in my opinion, giving you a much better toy for your pennies! ...

Well your thinking when you see this, hmm £120 with a colour screen and more features than a Ipod...What a bargain! Well it is a very good hard drive mp3 player with integrated FM radio which has excellent reception, picture viewer and even .txt file reader for a short read. I choose the iriver H10 over the popular ipod mini and I am very pleased with my choice. The sound quality is great, it looks fantastic and has a colour screen unlike the ipod, and it comes with earphones and a great case which really protects it if you drop it.
