Advantages Advantages Excellent nutrition for your kitten or cat.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

--- IAMS WHAT I AM --- "Like you, we adore dogs and cats, and have a very particular passion for their nutrition. We know that good nutrition can help make a difference to your pets' health and happiness". As found on the iams website. I love cats! I have two British short hairs. Brother and sister. I feed them the food that was recommended to me by my best friend whom I got my kittens from. I had previously fed all my former cats on wet food and I wasn't really aware that this dried food was in fact complete dietary nutrition. I still wasn't entirely convinced that I would bring them up on ... more

Advantages Advantages High nutritional Value, tasty (my cat thinks so)

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

I have had my cat Elmo for almost 7 years now and I've noticed that the older he's become the more fussy he's become at meal times. The last time I took him to the vet I got a bit of a telling off because he had lost a lot of weight just due to him refusing to eat the food that was put down to him so I decided that I needed to take some drastic action and set about trying various different brands of cat food some which were a success and some which were not. I'm sure most people have seen the newest advert for Iams dry cat food where the comparison for nutrition is made between dry and wet ... more

    Advantages Advantages Firm stools.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Made by Procter and Gamble.

As many readers will be aware I have rescued animals. My local rescue centre, Wood Green Animal Shelter recommends Iams for its animals. I know that Proctor and Gamble makes them, so am a little reluctant to buy this product. Max (my five toothed Tabby) is always hungry. Two weeks ago I ran out of James Well Beloved for Max, so at 6am in the morning I sent Shane down to Tesco’s to get some dried food for Max. Shane turned up with Iams so here is my opinion of the product. Iams claims to ‘help your cat enjoy a long, active, healthy life'. It is a complete and balanced diet that works in ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages May be expensive if bought as small packs

I have been a catlover for as long as I can remember(hence the user name). I have always owned cats with their own chareacters and they have all been fussy with their food. I am currently owned by a white cat called Casper(because of the children in the house he was born in and the obvious release of the movie of the time) and he is no exception. I have now been his partner in crime for 10 years and hoping for many more. Going back to the food in question. I was a student leaving university when he arrived and was, to say the least quite tight on my budget. Over the first few years I tried to ... more

Our names are Sammy and James, We are 15 year old black british shorthaired cats and we want to tell you all about this Iams Senior 7+ We have another cat in our house, called smitten but he is quite young and is in bed. Mum has just popped downstairs to put the kettle on so together we are sitting hear ready to tell you about this food she gets for us. A few weeks ago, we saw that monstrous cat basket come out of the cuboard and we scarpered. That only means one of two things, either we are moving again or she is taking us to the vets. She was cursing as she could not find us and the dogs ... more

Just to give you a little background information, I have two cats Jasper and Tinker. They came into my possession when they were 14 weeks old, they had been abandoned and were very sick. They both had cat flu, ulcers on their tongues, worms, fleas and just about any other disease known to the feline world. Our first trip to the vets was incredibly expensive but I have never looked back, they are a massive part of my life and don't now what I would do without them. They are now 4 years old and two of the most spoilt animals known to man. I have made a rod for my own back by regularly feeding ... more

Advantages Advantages Value for money, nutrition, my cat likes it, availability, frequently on offer, smaller bags

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not many flavours especially in other lifestages, no resealable bag

BACKGROUND INFORMATION When I first had my cat as a 10 month old, he was a fussy eater. I bought him Go Cat which is what his previous owners said he ate, but he was not at all impressed with it. So on began the quest to find him something he would like, but Sir decided for himself when he started going in my neighbour's house and eating their cat's Science biscuits and leaving his own food. That was it, Sir decided to put himself on Science biscuits and that is what he had. A couple of years ago, of course straight after I'd just bought him a new 2kg bag of food, he decided to go off it. It ... more

Advantages Advantages crunchy tasty and stay fresh longer

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit pricy and hard to prove benefits

It was with great excitement that I beheld the owner arriving back with a tin of Iams in his hand. After the disgace of being fed Tesco Value tinned food (he said it was an emergency but methinks it was revenge for the thoughtful present I left in his shoe), and the Tesco Duck in jelly which seemed to fly through my back end before I'd finished eating, here at last was something to look forward to. Imagine my horror then, when I saw him put them on top of the cupboard, and reach for the Brekkies which I had grudgingly eaten for the last 2 months. Despite yowling for England, scratching the ... more

Advantages Advantages Apparently good ingredients- no added colours, flavours or preservatives.

Disadvantages Disadvantages STINKS! Animal tested too, ugh.

Why I bought this product Firstly, I will start by saying I do not like to feed my cat pet foods and do so only as a last resort. We did however buy IAMS when my cat ran out of fresh food and these happened to be the only biscuits available. What to feed? There are many reasons why I do not like to use pet foods. Firstly, the ingredients are often cheap and unfit for human consumption. This means slaughter-house floor sweepings, bones, blood and sometimes even meat from sick animals. You will also notice what meagre quantities of meat are included in pet food ingredients. Some brands, such as ... more

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Barnaby, but you can call me Barney once we are acquainted. And let me tell you I do ALL the important jobs at our Livery Yard. I know you will all think that the yard staff do the hard work; looking after all the horses; staying up all night when they are sick or due to foal; shifting heavy bales of hay and straw; lugging around sacks of horse feed and bags of carrots. But just let me tell you – there would be no staff here if it weren’t for me! The yard staff are real ‘girlies’, and when the chips are down they run for cover ... more
