Ian Payne (Radio 5)

The afternoon programme on Radio 5 is on between 1 o’clock and 4 o’clock and is normally presented by Ian Payne. Occasionally Kevin Greening stands in for him. Payne clearly is a sports presenter who is stretching himself to follow the news of the day. Sometimes this doesn’t work and his presentation of the news items betrays a lack of breadth in his knowledge of contemporary affairs.
