Advantages Advantages Design, looks, feel, functions, display screen

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Ringtones, No answerphone

Well, I was looking at my poor old ( about 3 years ) BT cordless phones that I had at home, and to be honest they had seen better days. Before I had learnt to control my temper, the phones were usually bounced around several walls or doors in the house..... Yep I know..... thats naughty. My previous phones had served me well, and I had really abused them to be honest. I had a pair, one for the living room, and one in the bedroom. Both had been launced at various times :-) I was walking around Tesco, getting a few bits and pieces for Sunday dinner, and happened to start browsing at the ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish. compact, easy to use and a great price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Buttons are small but are still easy to use

This is light, easy to use and very stylish at a fantastic price. I paid only £54.00 for a twin set and looking around what I could buy for that and more I consider myself to have a bargain. I was orginally drawn to this for its style but is has so many more advantages. It is slim and not chunky like most other phones I looked at. The base they sit on is small, especially for the second handset so it hasn't taken up much room as I found with my old phone. Its slim shape is good to hold. The other great thing about the second handset is that it doesn't need a telephone socket, just an ... more

Advantages Advantages unique design, cordless, sensitive buttons, LCD display, docking station, cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all

When I redecorated my flat I made sure there was plenty of silver around the main living area, with chrome edged mirrors accompanied by 2 silver and glass tables and to compliment this I decided to but the IDECT X1 cordless phone for £35 because it looks extremely cool and is packed with useful gadgets thats were bound to come in handy at some stage. The phone sits in a little port which naturally plugs into the main socket to receive a signal and I have found that call quality is fantastic when wandering around the flat a distances up to 50 metres from the port. The battery lasts for anything ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no answer phone

Well we moved into our house just before christmas in 2006 and seeing that it was christmas we were short of cash and were worried about current finiancial issues as those who have moved house know that it is expensive and as it was our first house we needed everything so the last thing on my hi-tech list was a house phone. With watching the pennies in mine i toddled off to asda to see what bargin i could pick up and to my suprise i saw the idect x1 on offer for £15, i picked up the box and immidiatly liked the look of the phone on the box. So off i went to the till and purchased my new phone ... more

Advantages Advantages Survives being thrown at walls during arguments.

Disadvantages Disadvantages 2/3 AAA batteries expensive, phones uncomfortable for long conversations.

We have owned a pair of these for 2-years, and they do unfortunately have some bad points. On face value they look stylish, but you will come to find them uncomfortable during a long conversation. Their buttons are small and difficult to see. But the bit which has finally prompted us to replace them is that you can't buy replacement batteries. This phone uses 2/3 AAA batteries, which can be bought online, but for a premium price. There are a very limited number of ringtones and they are all beep beep noises, none of them sound like a traditional phone, or even like a modern phone for that ... more

I bought this phone several weeks ago and i'll share my experience with you I searched the web for the cheapest deal which was £35 delivered Ordered the phone and had it delivered a few days later, opened the box and initially was suprised at the size of the phone, it's alot smaller than it looks in the pictures but i figured that was a good thing, it was the silver version with chrome keys in the box came the base unit , adapter, batteries, handset, manuals etc, charged the phone for the initial 15 hours period as directed by the manuals, it actually charged fully in around 8 hours it has a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looks, easy to use, good value for money.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only a few ringtones.

This telephone was the first ever landline phone I bought when I moved into my own place. I bought it for two reasons. It is stylish and offers good value for money. On getting the phone home It was well packaged, easy to install and even easier to use. Although the handset only has a few ringtones to choose from, I still found one that was to my liking and instantly put my name on the standby screen, a feature that all my friends smile about when they see the phone. My parents had a corless phone once and you had to keep changing the channel depending on where you were in the house, or fiddle ... more

    Advantages Advantages price, appearance

Disadvantages Disadvantages battery compartment, uncomfortable to hold

Overall the phone is good value for money. But the phone can be a little uncomfortable to hold and use, also the battery compatment is a swine to open and close, as it has a spring and is curved so I had to use a knife, and ended up scuffing it, but once you have the batteries in you will not need to do it again. However overall the battery life is quite long and it is an attractive slimline phone which you will eventually get use to. Also it is quite loud with a selection of ring tones. It also times the call for you so if, like me, you have a phone package where you only receive an hour free ... more

Advantages Advantages Can make and receive calls on it

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very cheap feeling, caller ID does not work and not many other features

I bought this telephone because it claimed to have caller ID which my previous home telephone system did not. Please do not be fooled. It does NOT have caller ID. I have called my telephone provider to ensure that everything is in place correctly and that there is no reason that this should not be working and have been assured that it is. I have added contacts into the phone book in the hope that at least if people I know call then their names will appear on the screen. This also does not work. I also lose signal when I go too far from the main base unit. This means that in my four bedroom ... more
