Advantages: Beautiful design. Superb sound quality. Quality look and feel. Wide range of features. Disadvantages: No common phone book. When reading or deleteing lists (call, SMS) it only applies to that phone.
The iDECT X3i differs from the X3 in that it has a built in answer phone. Apart from that they are identical.
We have both; we simply re-registered the X3 phones to the X3i base making it see 6 handsets.
Firstly, forget any preconceptions you may have about these being Binatone phones, they leagues apart from what they used to produce in the past.
The phones themselves are very stylish being only 15mm thick and have a lovely clean modern look ... ...helps with keeping it clean if sticky fingers get at it! There are two colours of keypad available, a limited edition silver colour and a black. We have both but to be honest we prefer the black.
The keypad is backlit as is the phones colour display. Despite this, standby life and talk-time are more than ample for the home environment.
Call sound quality is superb. We have yet to hear any interference. Effective range is on a par with most good ...

...no avail. I then contacted idect directly only to be told that the phones are not designed for use outside UK and that it would cost 30 quid for repair...what a hoax.. I repaired it a local Zimbabwean workshop and was told that the amplifier was put in the wrong way by the supplier..talk about quality control. Not only was I dissatisfied by the product but also with the lack of adequate support,..probably trying to cover the cheap workmanship of ...

Advantages: Three handsets, easy set up, easy to operate Disadvantages: Didn't last
I would not recommend this phone.
We bought one because we were looking for a phone with 3 handsets and there wsn't a great deal of choice available. We were very happy with it at first, it looked good and was easy to set up. But within 6 months of purchase one of the handsets stopped working altogether, the screen went blank and that was that. There seemed to be no reason for the malfunction, and battery wasn't corroded or anything. And it wasn't ... ...see if it could be repaired or if I could buy a new handset (unfortunately I couldn't locate the receipt) but my only option was to buy a reconditioned handset for £19.99, which I thought was a bit pricey for something that isn't even new. So now I have 3 bases but only 2 phones. I won't buy from this manufacturer again, the phone just wasn't durable enough. ...

Quick review of Idect Idect X3I
Nice looking phone. I wish I never bought it. My problem is that when I dial a number I listen to a lot of racket and after about 20 seconds the call finally goes through. And more annoying is the fact that it dosen seem to work on automated message calls. Surely this can't be right. If it is it will be heading for the skip. ...

Advantages: Good styling, Comfortable to use Disadvantages: 100% Unreliable
I bought two X3i single units one for each line in my house. They look and feel superb, are very comfortable even during long calls, and whilst the features are limited are comparable to the features offered on most other Dect handsets.
Problems started about a week after I got the phones. The landline phone range steadily reduced until you had to be standing next to the base station to use it. The handset on the VoIP line's display started breaking ... ...received replacements within a few days; the Land line phone worked for 2 days and then stopped picking up if it was on charge so it was impossible to answer calls. The line quality on the VoIP handset was also noticeably poorer then the previous faulty handset.
So basically from 4 handsets I suffered 100% unreliability. I am going back to my clunky old reliable BT. ...
