Advantages: Frank, honest, emotional account of Geri Halliwell

...of Geri, but I found If Only an emotional read all the same - as did my family, who are somewhat less fanatical about her. Far too many see Geri Halliwell as simply someone who can't sing, and generally can't do anything other than be famous. To these people, whether you love or loath Geri, have some respect. Unlike some autobiographies, this does seem to be written by her, rather than by a ghost writer, and it is a refreshingly honest book and one that I would recommend. The only disadvantage is that my kids wanted to read it and with lots of mentions of sex, it really isn't appropriate for pre-teens. I borrowed 'If only' from a friend. Although not a great fan of the Spice Girls I was always curious as to the exit of Geri Halliwell. ...the true answer to, but if you want to know how she got started in the world of showbiz then this is for you. The book comes with a colour section in the middle with photos ect, some of which are not very flattering, but Geri is very honest and does not try to hide anything. I think I have always beeing truly a Spice fan and I can call myself a wannabe, but this story has make me come closer to Geri. I can see her in different way, I do respect her very much because she's like me. My path will be easier now when I know that someone has already experienced all that. I started reading 'If Only' with a fairly open mind. I have always been interested in the Spice Girls - I wouldn't call myself a fan although I have been to a couple of their concerts. I think that what interests me is the fame that suddenly hit the girls in the face. I think I feel close to them because they, like me, were normal struggling girls once upon a time. A fantastic book. The life of Geri Halliwell, the most interesting and exciting woman of the 90's. After leaving the Spice Girls Geri decided to release her auto-biography. The fantastic book, which is very interesting made the number 1 spot in the book charts and its easy to see why.
