This category appears to be for Ikea Sultan mattresses in general, which encompasses all mattresses that Ikea sell. My review is for Sultan Fonnes in particular, as it is the one that I have had experience of. When I moved into my flat in Leipzig, my room was completely bare. I had four walls, a door, two windows, a ceiling and floor, and absolutely bugger all in between. Not relishing the idea of sleeping on a hard wooden floor for five months, my friend (who had an equal absence of furniture in her room) decided to make the long trek to Ikea to buy some basic furnishings. A priority was ... more

bought two sultan mattresses and both sagged in middle after a year. Customer services said this is my fault for not turning them enough. There was no manufacturing defect and the "everyday quality" guarantee only covers that. Pretty poor customer service. Note I did turn both mattresses - I felt they just wanted to get out of their commitment. As a customer I feel mislead and this will influence my future buying decisions as well as motivating me to write this review. review needs 120 words - do not buy a mattress from ikea.do not buy a mattress from ikea.do not buy a mattress from ikea.do ... more

I decided to replace my bed and mattress as they were getting old and didn't look very stylish in my new flat. I decided to go to Ikea because their products are well priced and stylish. Since their beds, mattresses, duvets, pillows etc etc are all in european sizes, if you but one, you have to buy the whole lot. Not a problem I thought, it still works out quite cheaply. First up, I decided to but their Kalif Klassisk mattress for no other reason than because it was in the middle of their range - not too cheap, not too expensive. I soon realised why it was so cheap. Several of the springs ... more

Advantages Advantages Lovely matress for the first couple of weeks

Disadvantages Disadvantages downhill from there, poor customer services, avoid at all costs

I bought an Ikea Hasslebaik mattress 5 weeks ago and paid £255, It was lovely for the first week but less than two weeks in, it had settled there was a big depression in the middle. I have never had that problem even on cheap £99 "Landlord" mattresses. I am not a heavy guy, I bought this bed because it was supposed to be their firmest spring mattress. It was on a 90 day "love it or exchange it" guarantee. Anyway I called Ikea to have it exchanged and it's been one hassle or another. First they said they would exchange it, next they said they would send someone over to inspect it. They sent ... more

We bought an Aspelund bed and Sultan mattress and it is the most uncomfortable bed ever. The frame moves frequently so that the wooden slats often fall through and you find yourself sleeping on a slope. The mattress dips in the middle so we sleep nose to nose and it has bumps all over it. We complained to Ikea at the time and they told us there was nothing wrong with the bed and sent us a new one that did exaclty the same. We have ended up spending money on a new bed and mattress. Don't buy beds or mattresses ... more

Very Bad. We bought this mattress because it seemed good value and came with a 25 year guarentee. After a few months the bed became very uncomfortable, the side walls collapsed, the main part of the mattress sagged and the springs have come though, so much that they left bruises on our bodies. Don't waste your money on this mattress, avoid like the plague.

I bought a Sultan mattress with the bed I bought from Ikea. Unfortunately. There's only one option in mattresses at Ikea and that's the Sultan - so I didn't have much choice... A pity, because after a month the mattress was sagging in the middle and after a year now, I wake up every morning with a stiff neck and back because of its non-existent support. And it was the hardest un-sprung mattress they had. These are usually fine for me, but it seems Sultan must be an inferior product. My advice? Stay away from Sultan mattresses.

Hmmm... This is not good. I seem to have the same Problem with the same mattress :( I got it in April. I used a huge thick ikea topper on it until recently, But i took it off thinking maybe THAT was what was sagging. Now a week later, no sleep and a bad back, i am 100% sure that the mattress is sagging in the middle. I have turned it twice since i got it too. The thing is HOW the hell am i supposed to take it back? I had access to a van when i got it back ... more

I have a Malm kingsize bed (Ikea) and it is the worst bed i've ever slept in, in my life - infact right now i'm sleeping on the floor till I can either sell the bed or give it away! Seriously, never experience such bad back pain, no support, absolutely rubbish, I would think twice before going to Ikea again for a bed.

Hi, We bought two Sultaan Hassleback mattresses and after once month they were sagging in the middle. I went into the store and explained this, the customer service girl said that I had a 25 year guarantee and as long as I had not folded the mattress (when taking it home, I explained that they were delivered by IKEA delivery service), I would have to bring the mattress back to store in order to get a replacement. I am going to have to hire a van big enough to take these mattresses back. Does anyone know if it is easy to get replacements from IKEA? And what if the replacements do the same thing ... more
