Advantages Advantages The scent and colours available

Disadvantages Disadvantages You have to travel to Ikea to get them

I work from home and the spare bedroom in our home is now my ‘office’ - I say office because there is really only a corner desk that I work from but, we also have all our bookcases in here and a sofa bed and so it has also become the room that we can go to for a bit of quiet time or to get away from the noise of the TV. So as this room started to take shape I wanted it to always be a dog free place (we have three!) and for it to be a room that you wanted to go to or in my case didn’t feel like a burden to be in there because of knowing I had to go in there to work. I wanted the room to be cosy ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent aroma, looks pretty, glass jar can be reused as a tealight holder

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only one I can think of is it's a chore to get to IKEA to buy them

Just before Christmas I picked up a Glade scented candle, which sadly I wasn't particularly impressed with - although to be fair the biggest problem I had was the fact I didn't really like the smell. Over the holiday period I received a gift which included small tealight scented candles and I got into the habit of lighting one of these every night as I sat beside the computer or down in the living room watching TV. During long cold evenings there is something I find quite comforting about having these on the go, but of course a tealight isn't exactly long lasting - most only burn for about 3 ... more

Advantages Advantages Look nice & smell nice before lighting

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hardly any scent once lit

Ikea Tindra Tealight CandlesOn one of our many Ikea trips we have made in recent months we found ourselves purchasing a pack of Ikea Tindra Tealight candles. I have a fascination with candles and simply love the atmosphere they create. On our coffee table we have a couple of small glass dishes which I like to put candles in while they burn as this creates a lovely shadowy effect on the walls. The ideal candle for these dishes are tealight ones and therefore I remember thinking how nice it would be to have some scented ones to add even more atmosphere. The ScentsIkea Tindra tealights are ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots to choose from, good value for money, lovely scents

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

When we first visited Ikea we went for a few bits and bobs, we needed some little bits of furniture after my partner moved into a new place and we were also looking for a few bits to make the place a bit more homely. When we were browsing around the store I could smell something really nice. To begin with I thought it might be someones perfume but then when it didnt disappear I realised it must be the huge display of candles in the homeware section of the store. I wasnt sure which candle it was so me and my partner debated for a good ten minutes about which ones to buy! In the end we bought 3 ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages -

I am someone who does love buying candles and will always have one in my bedroom or lit in the colder months. They are quite relaxing but I have noticed that some candles can be very pricey especially as I do love a vanilla or chocolate scented candle which does mean a lot more, also if you want one that smells realistic and not cheap. When in the supermarket I did come across some nice festive candles but even I think that a fiver for a candle that will melt quickly if I have it lit a while just seems like quite a lot of money. This is why I got so excited when I went to Ikea and saw the ... more

Tindra tealightsAs well as stocking up on Ikea's pack of standard tealights whenever I brave going into the store, I often can't resist grabbing a pack of scented tealights too.Coming in at £1.69 for a pack of 36, these tealights cost just under 5p each and come in a range of scents, including Tropical Fruit and Apple. I opted for the vanilla scented pack. They are also complemented by the larger Tindra candles that come in glass jars, as well as larger pillar candles - all scented and all at reasonable prices! These are standard size tealights and according to Ikea have a burning time of 3.5 ... more

My nearest IKEA store is well over an hour's drive away, so when I do visit, I use the opportunity to stock up on all the things that I love. One of those things is their selection of candles and home accessories. They really do have so much choice when it comes to candles, in a vast array of colours and fragrances and I particularly love their selection of tealights. I have a fireplace at home that I like to dot these around and burn, warming the room and creating a nice ambience. I particulary like IKEA's selection of Tindra Tealights as they offer such great value for money - at £1.42 for a ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, Attractive, Smell Divine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only availabe in Ikea

I love Ikea, cheap, cheerful and bloody good value. They do a massive range of candles all very reasonably priced but this is the best one I have found so far. Ikea do a huge range of cheap candles and cheap is what I like. Considering the candles are going to be burnt I can’t justify going to John Lewis and spending £8 plus on a candle when the Ikea Tindra candles do the job for just £1.20. The Tindra Candle comes in a clear glass jar, which is about 3inches high, and 2inches in circumference. There are five frosted rings around the glass jar making it look a little bit special as opposed to ... more

Advantages Advantages nice range of scents, long burn time from the larger ones, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages the smaller ones don't smell very strong

I have been buying IKEA's scented 'Tindra' tea lights for a good few years now. They're not a regular purchase as IKEA is not somewhere I go all that often, but I'm onto my fourth or fifth pack now. The Tindra tea lights come in two different sizes and I will discuss both in this review as I have found that the different sizes perform differently from each other. First there are the regular tea lights which are an inch and a half across, the same as any other standard tea light. These give a three and a half hour burn time according to the pack I have in front of me. Then, there are my ... more

    Advantages Advantages Value for Money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly fragranced

*My Intro*: When I first left home, I seemed to live at Ikea, I couldn't believe how cheap some of the products were. One item that I sometimes pick up when I go is a set of Tindra Tea lights in the mixed berry fragrance. *The product:* The candles come in a long cardboard box and rows of 3 and stacked two high. In the mixed berry fragrance you get 12 light red, 12 deep red and 12 burgundy candles. I am not sure if there is any difference in the smell as to me they all seem to smell fruity. The candles are like standard tea lights, about 3cm deep an 3.8cm in diameter. *Price and availability*: ... more
