Introduction
This is the sixth book in the series featuring Precious Ramotswe, the founder of the Number One Ladies Detective Agency. I've read a couple of the previous books, and although I wasn't completely bowled over by them, they were light and enjoyable reads and when I saw this for 50p in a charity shop, I couldn't resist.

Mma Ramotswe is now married to her long time boyfriend J L B Matekoni and the two are living in Zebra Drive ...

Advantages: Amusing, sweet, exotic: the perfect lighthearted read Disadvantages: Doesn't reach its full potential
In the Company of Cheerful Ladies is the sixth book in the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency series and the best I've read so far. The plot is slightly more complex than in the previous ones I've read and the book is the richer for it - there are more mysteries and the characters develop well, even familiar ones like Mma Makutsi. Like the other books in the series, this is charming and lighthearted, but I thought that it had more substance than the others ...
