    Advantages Advantages Really good value

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't look good as good as my hubby does in a pinny

I have never been the sort of person that will sit around all day dreaming about things I can never have. I don't want to be queen for a day, or be a movie star, or a famous singer.I am quite happy without all that pomp and ceremony, but there are a few things, a few luxuries that I know I would really like to own one day. I call it my wish list and the more I read about new gadgets and gizmos here on Ciao, the longer it gets. One of the items that has been on my list for a long time is a dishwasher. I used to tell anyone who asked that I didn't need one,my husband did the job adequately.I ... more

Advantages Advantages Economic, user friendly, salt and finisher indicators, economy & short wash

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I purchased the Indesit about 6 months ago and I have never looked back. The Indesit was highly recommended by a local washer/dishwasher repair company as being one of the best on the market. Not only for its features but that spare parts are readily available if anything ever does go wrong. I have had no problems at all. I find the low salt and finisher indicators very useful, instead of a hit and miss affair about when they should be filled, the salt dispenser has its own funnel so its easy to do, there is also a filter which catches any particles. It is a very quiet machine. Although the ... more

Advantages Advantages Salt & Rinse Aid low indicators - quiet - Low energy consumption

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hard to get as it is sold out quite quick

OK, I've eventually managed to get my new dishwasher. It's the Indesit D63. And let me tell you it's not been easy getting it as it seems to be flying off the shelfs (well, off the floor - bit big for a shelf). It's got all the standard features of most dishwashers, 12 place settings, 6 programs, etc... but some of the features you don't find on all the other standard dishwashers that it has are; half load, Intense program, Salt low indicator, rinse aid low indicator, adjustable racks, almost silent running (51Db), Energy Efficency rated A, cleaning efficency rated A - but the best thing about ... more

Advantages Advantages EVERY PROGRAMME THAT YOU NEED

    Disadvantages Disadvantages NONE

Three years ago I was delighted to win a Bosch top of the range dishwasher in a competition. At the time I had a basic dishwasher, and so I had no hesitation in giving it away, and keeping the super duper Bosch. That proved to be a big mistake! Although the Bosch had fancy lights and a delayed timer system (which sounds useful but you never actually use it)it was lacking one extremely important basic feature. That is the rinse only programme. This programme is so useful if you put items into the dishwasher throughout the day, but don't want to run a full cycle until the machine is full. This ... more

    Advantages Advantages CHEAP BUT CHEERFUL

    Disadvantages Disadvantages RELIABLITY IS POOR

I bought one of these machines 18 months ago and have no real complaints so far. However i have been recently advised by 2 close friends who have had indesit appliances installed, that their dishwashers have been prone to break down quite a bit. This particular dishwasher will take an average of two hours to clean a full load of cutlery and dishes, etc. Overall the cleaning ability and range of features were adequate for a machine of this type. The two biggest flaws with this model are it's tendency to breakdown quite frequently, especially if it is being used often and you are putting large ... more

    Advantages Advantages Variety of programmes

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Reliability

Although I've found this dishwasher easy to use and it generally gets things very clean - unless it's stuff that has really dried on, I have concerns over its reliability. My D63 stopped working last night. The engineer says that the main motor has gone and it will cost £120 to replace. I only bought it 1.5 yrs ago and I don't think this is good enough. I haven't even used it that heavily - 3 x a week at most! Perhaps you get what you pay for, but my only consolation it seems is that the engineer says that he often gets called out to fix machines that are just out of warranty. Apparently Bosch ... more
