Advantages Advantages Good value for money, and does everything I need it to.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noise level louder than some of the more expensive dryers.

*My experience with different brands* I tend to be quite loyal to brand names I have learned to trust, but would change if I found a good enough reason. At about seven years old our Electra tumble dryer started making some very strange noises, so I was expecting to have to buy another one in the near future. It hadn’t needed any repairs in that time despite being used an average of one or twice a day, and because we weren’t expecting the premiums to be cost effective, we had never taken any maintenance insurance on it. Since leaving my parents home 30 years ago, the majority of my kitchen ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks ok, doesnt cost much and it`s compact.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wont dry heavier items in under 5 hours and developed a very annoying squeak.

Many moons back when our kids (now 34 and 38) still lived with us, the wife and I had a combined washer dryer as although our kids were grown adults really they were just as harsh on clothes as when they were little and would leave their work clothes till the last minute then wonder how they were going to get them washed and dried over night for work the next day. They both moved out long ago and when our old washer dryer packed in we replaced it with just a simple washing machine but recently as the summers got shorter and the winters longer and our grandkids messier we decided to purchase a ... more

Advantages Advantages Large enough for family washes!- Cool tumble button for delicate clothes!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not quite "A" energy- efficient, but does the job well!

I have had my Indesit Tumble Dryer for quite a few years now and have found it to be one of the better ones out of all the ones that we have purchased over many, many years. Being quite a large family, in the past in the winter it was very important to get all the kids uniforms dry for school along with the many P.E kits that seemed to come from nowhere the night before they were needed. I always made sure that I purchased a tumble that had dual drying facilities, as so many things need to be dryed on a cool tumble to prevent shrinkage. This Indesit has everything that you could wish for ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fluffy Soft Towels

Disadvantages Disadvantages Makes clothes lose smell of washing powder, makes you lazy

I use this machine about three times a day seven days a week, and I can honestly say is very reliable and efficient, it has a timer of upto 120mins and the option of high heat for cottons and low heat for synthetics, it also has a seperate start button which is good if you have got little explorers (aka toddlers). It usually takes about 40-50 minutes for me to dry a ful load to cupboard dry, this maybe because my washing machine has a high spin speed of 1400rpm, I used to have a hoover washer/dryer with only an 1100rpm spin speed and it used to take about 90 minutes to dry to coupboard dry, so ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Indesit IS60V by ZeeCC 08/12/2007
Second IS60V in 8 months. The first one bought in March 07 suffered a catastrophic failure and was replaced today free of charge for a new one. Ironically until then it did a much better job at drying than my previous Bosch. Problems do happen so I went for the same model and my only grudge is with Comet for taking a month to sort out the problem.

the drier arrived today it was loaded at six oclock this evening and emptied at 5 mins past ,that was a quick cycle you may say unfortunately not ,the drum turned 3-4 revolutions and gave up.overloaded maybe ,i repeated the process with a fraction of the load and then with a single item alas the same story a few turns then everything grinds to a halt,on reading various reviews it appears there is a common drum allignment fault which leads to items getting caught between the drum and the door seal.is there no quality control on production lines anymore? unfortunately i ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Faulty from day 1

I purchased this tumble dryer for £150 , it arrived yesterday and I am totally unimpressed. For a start there was no vent hose with the machine, after phoning the shop I was told I would need to phone the manafacturers and get them to send me one out. Today I tried the dryer out anyway to make sure everything was working ok. Good job I did, loud screeching.scraping noises from the drum being out of line and rubbing. The half inch or larger gap caused by the drum being out of line kept catching and holding onto the clothes which I would think would cause harm to my clothes or be potentially ... more

Advantages Advantages Dries your clothes really quick

Disadvantages Disadvantages as with all tumble dryers it can use alot of electricity

I brought this dryer for £127 and its really easy to use. It's not to loud and dries your clothes quite quickly so its great for the family clothes. Its also good if you live in a flat like me and you have to use a communal line, if you dont like doing that then you'd find that you run out of space hanging things up indoors, so this gets around the problem. Its not too expensive for what it is. It has two switches so its also very simple, one for your heat setting and one for how long you want to use it for. I haven't had any faults with this machine yet and ive used it loads. the only bad ... more

    Advantages Advantages Inexpensive and robust

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fluff build up hard to remove, a little noisy

We bought this in November 2007, My wife overloads it and yet it is still going strong. It is quite noisy but as it is in a utility room this is not a problem. It has a high/low heat button. We tend to use the button out most for cottons. When the button is in, acrylics and synthetics can be dried, this works well and we have had no problems. There is a handy weight/time chart for each type of garment on the front. The fluff filter is easy to remove and clean but lots of fluff builds up below it and this is very hard to get out as the gap is too slim for my hand. I have to use a long skewer to ... more

Advantages Advantages Clothes come out clean and smelling good. The dryer works perfectly if you leave the door open for a few seconds.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The spin is too harsh on the machine and it often opens the washing powder door.

Although this is not the original washing machine that I had ordered, I have to add that it is a very smart and modern looking machine. However, as stated in the disadvantages, the machine spins way too loudly and too harsh. I am sure that this cannot be good for the belt. The washing powder door is often opened via the harsh spin and I often think that the machine is trying to escape out of the house by sliding across the floor and knocking over any dishes that you have on the counter. One would think, that although £310 is not a lot of money, you would at least expect the machine to work a ... more
