The Baby with Monster Attitude

AdvantagesIncredible performance and Extremely overclockable

DisadvantagesOverclockers will need an expensive motherboard to gain the best results

"The E6300 is the cheapest of Intel's Core 2 Duo's with an average price range of around £120 and runs at a steady 1.86Ghz with 2 physical cores and a FSB of 1,066MHZ. Now before I loose you in techno jargon I will explain what the E6300 basically is. The E6300 is Intels baby CPU from there new(ish) line of Core 2 Duos, although far from a baby this new dawn in Core architecture's, enables the processors to run faster, cooler and more efficently ..." Value for money

Advantages Performance and features

Disadvantages Lower cache and clock speed than its bigger brothers

"...Core 2 Duo range (until Intel releases the E4300). However, dont let this fool you into believing that the performance of the processor will be poor. The new Core 2 Duo range of processors are cutting-edge and most people agree that it is the best processor out on the market. I certainly believe this, because my personal experience of the Core 2 Duo is simply that of raw performance. The Core 2 Duo is Intel's answer to AMDs dual core processors. ..." Read review

Intel's Core 2 Duo E6300

AdvantagesFast, Dual-Core, Overclockable, Great for Gaming

DisadvantagesPrice?

"This is an excellent processor from Intel. It is using the new Core 2 Duo technology. This is a dual-core, meaning that it can preform multiple functions, such as browsing the web and listening to music while burning a cd, very well. This is one of the less expensive processors from the new line. However, I have found it to be the the processor that has the best value. It is an excellent buy and is strongly recommended for all new computers that ..." Read review

A stunning comeback from Intel

AdvantagesFast, Efficient, Reliable

DisadvantagesExpensive

"I have had this processor around a year now, and have had a brilliant experience with it. Since I've had it it hasn't lost any performance, even though I had a small problem with thermal paste. I have this version in my main 1GB, GeForce 7900GS PC, and also a laptop versions in my Advent notebook. I've used it in a ton of games, such as Counter Strike Source, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Oblivion, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, Age Of Empires ..." Read review

Cheap price with lots of power

Advantagescheap ,powerful and efficient

Disadvantagesnone

"This processor has to be the best one for the price it is, it may be the lowest of the core 2 duo range but it certainly doesn't lack in processing power with 2 cores each with 1mb cache running at 1.86ghz, you may be thinking this is a low clock speed but the core 2 duo architecture makes it a lot more powerful in many more ways. Compare this to any Pentium 4 and it will beat it at near enough any task. This processor is also very energy and heat ..." Read review

dual core beauty

Advantagesfast and responsive (though ciao's still slow)

Disadvantagesummm it's not a quad core

"had this cpu for week now happy with the performance in desktop applications, and in gaming; in counter strike source my fps is now between 60-70 running the cpu at stock which is ace. The three best aspects of this processor is the dual core, which helps immensely with multi tasking so if you are like me get bored easily and try and do many things at once this cpu will deal with it fine. Secondly the cache size is a really healthy 2mb which ..." Read review

Intel Core Duo

Advantages Speed and performance is incredible

DisadvantagesNone

"The Intel's Core 2 Duo, a amazing processor the essential to every computer. It runs at a steady 1.86Ghz with 2 physical cores its just great. I have one in my apple Imac, and the speed is so fast, it loads up and down immediatley and is great especially for all you game players when you are fed up of it not running smoothly. I used to have a windows based pc without this technology and it took me at least 5/10 minutes to load up then wait for the ..." Read review

Review about Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

AdvantagesGreat value, overclocking potential.

DisadvantagesOther quad core processors are available that might offer even better value now.

"...the best of the original Intel Core 2 Duo range. Even thought excessive heat isn't much of an issue with this processor, it is always a good idea to pair this (and any overclocked CPU) with a good cooler. A Tuniq Tower is my recommendation for the best air cooling available. All round a great processor with great overclocking potential. ..." Read review
