Advantages: very overclockable, pretty good at stock speed Disadvantages: needs better cooling and other components to get full overclocking potential
Intel updates its Core 2 Duo line with the "Wolfdale" codename, now known as the E8xxx series. It features higher bus speed of 1333MHz (to remind you, the E6xxx series has 1066MHz and the E4xxx series has 800MHz), 6MB of L2 cache (compared to 4MB of E6xxx and 2MB of E4xxx), 64-bit computing ready and smaller die-size of 45nm. The E8200 is the lowest offering from the series and it features a 2.66 Ghz of clock speed. If you plan to overclocking, this ... ...GHz on stock cooling (assuming you have a good motherboard and RAM), some batches are able to run up to 3.6-4Ghz. Overclocked to 3.2 GHz, I found that it's 10-30% faster and more responsive than an overclocked E4300 (o/c'ed to 3.2 GHz). I'm sorry I can't post detail numbers here. Basically it offers a good mid-range performance in stock speed. It offers a good upgrade from older CPUs such as Pentium, Celeron, Athlon64 series or even the E2xxx series. ...
