Enabling Hyper-Threading Technology requires a computer system with an Intel Pentium 4 processor with HT Technology, a chipset and BIOS that utilize this technology, and an operating system that includes optimizations for this technology. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software you use. Based on the same Intel NetBurst microarchitecture, the Intel Pentium 4 processor now at 3 GHz and 800-MHz system bus offers higher-performance processing capabilities than ever before. Built with Intel's 0.13-micron technology, the Intel Pentium 4 processor delivers significant performance gains for use in home computing by allowing users to create, edit and share digital media at the same time. Business users will see an immediate productivity benefit through the ability to perform multiple tasks at once. Whatever the need, the Intel Pentium 4 processor has the capability to meet your customers computing demands.

Fast and efficient
Review of Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz processor by blairtony

Advantages: Fast. extremely fast.
Disadvantages: 2 in 1

The competition between AMD and Intel has become intense. AMD’s got the Athlon XP 3000+ while Intel has Pentium 3.0 GHZ. The competition in the CPU market hasn’t become any weaker. Despite the fact that both major processor developers, AMD and Intel, have almost run out of the scalability potential of their current processor cores, the companies keep on the armament drive by seeking new ways to speed up their CPUs. The shift to new 90nm technology, ... Read review

you wont find much better for the price.
Review of Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz processor by garfee2003

Advantages: Quick, Cool, Easy to install
Disadvantages: Not the fastest, but only costs about £120

...design by the researchers at Intel that has given way to a new era in processing capability and true multi tasking properties. With support from Windows XP, motherboard and CPU your system will see two "logical" processors for the one actual CPU, still not able to deliver same performance levels as a proper dual processing system but offers lower costs and power consumption. Hyper-Threading capable processors (currently only 3.06GHz) execute two ... Read review

Lots of improvements still not enough.
Review of Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz processor by cynthia11

Advantages: 1 mb L2 cache, cheaper.
Disadvantages: Your old socket 478 might not work.

Intel has come up with a new core again: This one is called the Prescott: The Prescott has 1mb l2 cache which is distinguished by the name “Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0 GHZ”. It is a little bit slower than its Northwood counterpart. This processor has 13 new instructions in it which refer to as SSE 3. This new instructions are added to be able to optimized the different applications or programs that our Computer uses. The new improvements are very significant ... Read review

Pentium 3GHZ....Not fast enough!!
Review of Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz processor by reviewermarc

Advantages: Price, value, performance, ease of setup
Disadvantages: Extreme performance outruled, long term viability...

As one of the more standard - mid-high end processors available today, the 3ghz chip is useful for most average and moderately demanding programs and games. When coupled with the correct memory, and graphics card you cant really go wrong, however for users who demand the most out of their system it doesnt really fit the bill. For a start, its an excellent product if you're on a budget, weighing in at less then £120 nowadays its a real bargain. ... Read review

Review of Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz processor by jucpose

Advantages: Very fast.
Disadvantages: expensive

The Pentium 4c 3.0 ghz is running at 800 mhz front side bus which actually 200 mhz this because it is quad pumped. It has an L2 cache of 512k. The dfference between this cpu from the Pentium 4c is the new type of technology called Hyper Threading. The hyperthreading technology allows the cpu to work on different threads at the same time instead of waiting for the first thread to finished. The front side bus of the Pentium 4c is much faster than ... Read review
