    Advantages Advantages Information packed tight...

Disadvantages Disadvantages Markets change instant by instant not week by week...

I suspect that I am perceived by the majority of people on Ciao as being bookish, hippyish, middle-aged-ish and tend to bang on rather irritatingly about civil liberties and human rights. Well you’ve about got me licked there. However, a lesser known (or suspected…) facet to my personality is my addiction to the stock market. Yep if I don’t get a couple of hours obsessing about my stock and watching minute movements in the markets then I tend to get all panicky, my mouth goes dry, my hands shake and I lose the ability to talk about ANYTHING else. The days of looking up stock movements in the ... more

Investor's Chronicle is a very long established financial weekly-it was founded back in 1861-and is owned by the highly regarded Financial Times group. It has a circulation of around 50,000 and offers very authoritative and unbiased investment information and advice and a lot more besides. They publish a comprehensive news section which will keep people interested in financial and share markets up-to-date and potential investors can learn a great deal both about large FT 100 companies as well as smaller companies. They also publish a lot of extremely interesting features on diverse subjects ... more

Advantages Advantages The best financial publication

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

The Investor's Chronicle (IC) is a weekly publication priced (currently) at 3.25. It is released every friday. It is the premier investors resource, and is exceptionally highly regarded throughout the financial sector. CONTENT :- About the first 20 pages of the IC is normally taken up by financial news - about companies, general economic outlook, gossip and general things to look out for in the coming week. The news section is fully comprehensive, well written and is nearly always accurate. The next, and perhaps the most important section (for private investors) is the TIPS section. There are ... more

    Advantages Advantages reliable

Disadvantages Disadvantages always changing the format

If you own or wish to own shares as a private investor then the Investors Chronicle is an essential piece of kit . the magazine has for one thing stood the test of time . It has always attracted a very high calibre of writers in the past such as Tom Winninfrith of Show Me the Money fame and it continues to do so to this present day. It is not the most exciting publication you have ever looked at but it does the job it's intend to do . That is inform the average person in the street about what is happening on the stockmarket . Some of the tips and recommendations though can be a bit dodgy . In ... more

Advantages Advantages Well written and extremely up to date

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey

For anyone interested in the Stock Market and investing in general stocks (not just specifically Penny Shares or Tech Stocks) , I whole heartedly recommend Investors Chronicle to you. It is published weekly by the Financial Times so you know it has an excellent pedigree. Admittedly it is quite expensive £2.95 per week but an Annual Subscription of £125 , 2 Years Subscription of £225 or 3 Years Subscription of £318 will save you a substantial sum of money. It follows a very similar pattern each week which for a regular investor like me means I know where to look for the info I need. It starts ... more

What can I say here? I will keep this review short. Burning bridges never made me cry, a quote from Status Quo song. I bought the latest edition priced at £3,95p. The date it covered was the 21st May until the 27th May 2010. I see that this week's edition has a yellow front cover with the Investors Chronicle logo at the front. I also buy the Shares magazine occasionally as I prefer the layout of the Shares magazine slightly more than I find the Investors Chronicle This is a magazine that investors and business people read to look at share tips and information. When I say share tips, these are ... more

Advantages Advantages Variety of 'tips' and in depth information, mainly shares

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have read the good old Investor's Chronicle for years. It is a great publication for those interested in stock market investment, giving both in-depth articles on major companies, share tips on both large and small companies, including consensus opinions from major stockbrokers and fund managers. There is a useful 'in this issue' quick guide - invaluable if you are following a share and don't want to thumb though indices to see if it's mentioned. Having said that, its cumulative indices covering back issues are extremely useful, giving rapid access to company results, comments etc (providing ... more

Advantages Advantages A good general investment magazine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Might be a little thin on slightly obscure products

I have been reading IC weekly for more than 4 years and it is not the dry old publication you might think. I am not an investment spacialist but I do worry about how my invetments are doing and why. Ic does go into detail but not on everything, It tells you the important facts in an understandable way. The technical and in depth items are there when you need them. It also covers the majority of investment products. Including loan, mortgage and credit card rates. There is also a very interesting section on directors' share dealing. This is a weekly magazine for the investor who wants to know ... more
