**What Is It?**
The JBL mulitmedia speaker system "woofers" are a speaker set. It comes with the big sub-woofer and 2 smaller satelite speakers. **What is It Compatible With?**
It says in the title PC multimedia, but i just plugged it onto my Mac G5 and it worked fantastically! That is a bit misleading as it can work with basically any mulitimedia appliance. It works with all Macs and PC's but it also even works with Laptops, porartable DVD players, ... ...needs headphones so it doesn't nessicarily be for the computer. I have mine for the Mac however but i have tried it with an ipod and it works brilliantly. It has a plug so you need a socket nearby. there is no installation or software so when you get it you can just plug it in and enjoy!
**What Are Instructions Like?**
Instructions aren't to bad. It has a big picture of the system on the front and it has cear, easy to follow insrtictiopn on how ...

...can say. I baught these JBL Creature II 2.1 PC Speakers under recommendation from a number of people on a forum via Amazon for £49.88 - a little more than I was expecting to pay. But with hindsight I now feel they were worth it. So, why did I buy them? Well, I needed a new set of speakers to do justice to my Xbox 360 and also my old Dell 2.0 speakers were going to die after a few coverings of water - not very healthy for an electrical device, I think ... ...of the review.
SPEAKER SETUP
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's really easy to setup this speaker system. All leads are colour-coordinated and the left and right speaker cables also fit into specific shaped holes so you can't mix up which satellite goes in which hole at the back of the subwoofer. You connect the two satellite speakersto the back of the subwoofer, in their directed ports, connect the subwoofer ...

...of your fist), and that JBL were more concerned about desigining some speakers that would complement Apple Macs than impress the music listener. Even when I went to Tottenham Court Road to test out the Creature II, I was not quite convinced that the audio quality was up to scratch. This could have been due to the fact that it was very noisy in-store, with lots of people and the obligatory shop muzak playing - obviously no condition to seriously compare ... ...salesman tried to talk me into buying some doubly expensive, ugly, cheap looking, badly constructed Sony speakers which sounded god awful in comparison, even in these conditions, that gave me the final push to buy these gorgeous looking speakers. I have no regrets at all in purchasing them - albeit from an online vendor. That salesman simply had no idea, so I didn't want him to get any commision.

Advantages: Visually unique design, fairly cheap Disadvantages: Mediocre sound reproduction with poor range
...price. Even compared to earlier JBL models, the sound quality from these speakers is disappointing at best. The sub woofer can hold its own, perhaps a little too well competing with the satellites which it often overpowers. It is the tweeters that really let down the system. Too strong on the high end, they produce a strikingly tinny sound, while the system's entire midrange generally feels unbalanced.
Priced at around £50 these are budget speakers ... ...cannot help but feel the JBL Creature II is a somewhat shallow purchase that audiophiles will detest while Mac users are likely to love because it matches the machines beautifully. To the forgiving ear they are still respectable with a good build quality at a low price. But at the end of the day they are speakers, and if they fail in sound reproduction I find myself unable to recommend them.
In the end they're not good, they're not bad - they're ...

Advantages: Extremely High Quality, Awesome Design, Eye Catching, Extreme Value for Money Disadvantages: Large Power Brick
The JBL Creature II speakers are an awesome Value for Money option for Audiophiles and enthusiasts alike. I think they are one of the best investments that I have made for my digital life. I highly recommend them, and in this review, I will explain why…
Sound Quality
===========
The sound quality produced by these speakers is probably one of the best things about these speakers. First off, I'll start with a generalisation; it's awesome, now I'll ... ...hit a high, the two tweeters can pump out a peak of 20,000Hz, which is great for any music that involves highs, this especially comes out during classical music, in which, these speakers excel…! Though, one should not be confused into thinking that these speakers therefore cannot do anything in the bass region of things, because, oh yes, there is a 24 watt, 4 inch subwoofer, which is perfectly capable of shaking things off desks, and rattling stationary, ...

Advantages: Looks, excellent sound quality Disadvantages: Looks, price may put some off
I purchased these in black, a little over a year ago, in order to connect up to my PC to allow me to play my mp3 collection with ease.
So out of the box, I could already see that these were no ordinary speakers, with their somewhat quirky styling appealing to me instantly. However, this leads to the first point to be made, as if you're looking for a set of speakers that will just blend into the background, and not affect the appearance of the room, ... ...want speakers with a unique appearance that can be quite a conversation starter, then keep on reading.
Visually, these speakers are quite a head turner, with their curved profile, and matching subwoofer, and little LEDs underneath each speaker, which emit a pleasant glow when the system is turned on.
Setting up and using these speakers couldn't be any simpler either, as all of the supplied leads go to the subwoofer at some point, either as an input, ...

Advantages: Small and will fit any deskyop Disadvantages: Can't think of any
Bought these speakers from PC world the other day on a whim. By god I am so glad I did. My old speakers were getting a bit tired and were not doing my BF2 game any justice. I saw a huge pile of them stcked in an aisle and was immediatly taken by the unusual design.
I may be a little fickle, but this is a strong selling point of these speakers, the way they look. They look ominous and dark and that is what grabbed my attention.
Got them home and ... ...so easy, especially for those who are not so technically adept, it is a piece of cake. All the connections are colour coded, where can you go wrong. This is my only gripe. I set up and nothing happened, I found out that the specific connection jacks have to be homed quite hard into their respective sockets or power to the sattellite speakers.

Advantages: Looks cool, basic, no volume problems Disadvantages: Bass is poor, not the best quality sound
The speakers look quite cool next to my white laptop, although I do feel the need to tuck the sub under my desk since it is quite big. The two speakers are quite funky looking as you can see, and one of them has two buttons on it. These are the volume control - one for up, one for down. The buttons are touch sensitive in the sense that you don't have to 'press' them down, just tap them. I think this is a nice feature. Underneath each speaker is a ... ...is powered on. This gives a glowing effect under the speakers, which can look ok. If you don't like it then you can always cover the light with blutak of something!
The two speaker each plug into the main sub unit. The wires and connectors are all colour corordinated making the set up a breeze for anyone. Also on the underside of the sub is a connector of the computer and and on/off button. Again there is also a small green light which can only ...

Advantages: Look great, sound better Disadvantages: Only play as low as 50Hz
I have the white pair, and i'll start from where i started at choosing these, they look great don't they? the alloyish trim over the speaker and curvy body really is attractive. The volume is controled by a touch sensitive receptor on the right speaker, which doesn't ever stop working.
Aside from the looks they also sound great the two small sattelites(speakers) give out superb high frequency sound, very clear, very crisp. Now to get that full rich ... ...of the same design and looking great has two knobs which control bass, and treble for the whole system which is a handy and useful touch (not only decorative). The sub though does add the warm sound of bass to your music and it does this very well, the sound is not rattled, or distorted as you may find from many cheap subs. However where i was disappointed was its frequency range only playing as low as 50Hz, the human ear can here as low as 20Hz, ...

Advantages: Funky Design, Simple Controls, Easy to Set Up Disadvantages: Poorly Marked Controls, Bit Fuzzy in the Bass End, A Little Too Simple
My girlfriend bought these for her iPod Nano as something to have in the bedroom rather than paying full whack for a full mini hi-fi system. Since neither of us know massive amounts about the technology involved in audio equipment, I think that she just went for the "ones that looked coolest" And they do to be fair. The waved design looks great in a modern style bedroom, sat on the top of a chest of drawers and it is quite fun to hide the speakers ... ...to music in stereo.
Sadly the speakers are a little small and don't put out massive amounts of power; not exactly necessary in a small bedroom based system, but it would have been nice.
The funkily curved bass speaker/woofer is a little buzzy in the low end, particularly when playing house music (A favourite of my girlfriend), but handles indie and alternative with comparative ease.
The controls, mounted on the bass speaker, are simple and easy ...

Advantages: good bass, looks amazingly cool, almost an art piece Disadvantages: pricey, larger then life personality
This system sits in my room and is connected to my laptop, the tweeters are decieving, look tiny, yet when they get going they are loud and there is little distortion! The bass is impressive and clean, this is shown especially when playing games or movies with explosions!
The overall design, which can be seen in the pictures of it are ultra cool, sleek and stylish. These speakers are not for putting in the corner or under a desk, they should be ... ...make any technology lover happy as they are touch control.
In my experience, the main problem was that when i bought this it was an impulse buy and when i looked at my account the next day i realised that they were expensive. The next problem is that they are not everybodies taste as they are flashy and stand out, not subtle at all!
In conclusion I would recommend this to anyone who wants to jazz up there bedroom/office space with something cool, ...

I got a Sony Network Walkman for Christmas and wanted some speakers to inflict all my favourite albums on the wider public (well, the wider public in my house). A family member told me he had heard these going in a shop and they were amazing. I shopped around a bit first but I didn't see anything that impressed me visually as much as these. Once I got them home I discovered mine were grey as opposed to the white on the box, so make sure you check that if you are particularly partial to a certain colour. I was quite happy with grey although I would have preferred black, but they don't do black that I know of. It was all very easy to put together, the 'subwoofer' sits in the middle with the two speakers ...

Advantages: Good sound quality, Looks Great Disadvantages: Resonance at 50Hz
I'm quite knowledgable about speakers systems, so i bought these after doing a lot of research to make sure i was getting a good product. They are simple to get working and i was initially very happy with the quality of sound they produced. After a few hours of fiddling with high and low pass filters and an equaliser I managed to get rid of this problem, fine for me but i feel this may be a bit complex for novices.
After sorting out the initial problems, I can safely say that this is one of the best desktop sound systems i have bought! The treble and bass are very good, it is slightly lacking in mid-range but with a ...
