2 Stars The Truth Behind the JML Dri Buddi! Review with images 11/08/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Good as a back up if your tumble dryer goes down, or if you don't have one.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noisy, poorly made, takes ages to dry, clothing isn't always soft, creases abound, poor.

Replacing a tumble dryer when you've had a gas powered one for the best part of fourteen years isn't easy to replace, particularly in light of whether its cheaper to keep using gas as the means to dry clothing or to consider electricity; it may well be justifiable to hang clothing outdoors if you're down in the coast of England - or even in London if I care to remember the hot humid nights I endured but back in 2007 before the recession hit and before gas prices soared, we were convinced to hang onto our gas powered tumble dryer until the very day the drum fell off its brackets. Generally ... more

4 Stars My Buddi Jake dries my clothes Review with images 23/01/2009

Advantages Advantages Dry washing when its raining

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A lot

He's Jake the Peg, deedle eedle eedle um, With his extra leg, deedle, eedle eedle um. As a wife and mother I am used to not having any say whatsoever in what we watch on television. During the day when Holly is not at pre-school she wants to watch CBeebies and in the evening when Darren gets home from work, the programme schedule seems to consist of Top Gear, The A Team and any other manly programmes he can find whilst surfing the Sky channels. One thing he does hate is adverts, so whatever channel he is watching, as soon as the adverts come on, he starts channel hopping. So one night late ... more

5 Stars My Best Buddy 23/04/2013
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Dries clothes fast, cheap to run, heats the room

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't fit loads in it, quite noisy and unsightly

I bought a JML Dri Buddy when I moved in with my boyfriend around 6 months ago and so far it's served us well. We bought it because we often need things like work uniforms drying quickly and I don't really want to put the heating on just to dry q few things. We also don't have much space to hang things to dry so it's a useful thing to have. I paid £60 for it, which I think is pretty good value. The whole thing was very easy to put together. What you get is basically a plastic tripod with a heater on it, hanging bars at the top, and a blue bag that goes over it. The hanging bars at the top have ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice to look at, needs barely any cleaning, gives off a nice smell, makes clothing soft

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not super-fast, noisy, very large

I have had the JML Dri Buddi for a week now and my first impressions of this product is 'OK, this product means well. But I think more could have been done before finalising it' and my reasons for this are; The Dri Buddi does not do what it says on the tin. My first reaction to the Dri Buddi was 'Crikey, its huge!' The Dri Buddi stands about as tall as I am and I am 5'2". The bag (or tent as I like to call it) that goes around your washing to keep the heat circulating is very oval and round and puffs out even bigger when the Dri Buddi is on because of the circulating heat. Also, the Dri Buddi ... more

Advantages Advantages dries well and cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages nothing

We have had our JML Dri Buddi now for about eight months. We do not have a tumble dryer (we used to but it is broken) so we bought one of these and got it reduced to just £45 as it was a reconditioned model. It looks nice and it doesn't look out of place in our kitchen as it stands in the corner but it is tall at over five feet in height! It is meant to be quiet when it is in full drying mode but it is quite noisy and you have to raise your voice to be heard over the top of the noise. It dries our clothes really well and you can hang quite a few things in there at once and they do come out ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap to run, easy to store, easy to use,

Disadvantages Disadvantages need to supply own hangers

This dri buddi is a free standing clothes dryer. it is like a rotary line, only not as wide and has a fan heater at the bottom. the fan generates heat throughout the dri buddi and dries your clothes evenly. your clothes are hung up on hangers, put onto the 'arms' of the dri buddi which hold up to 18 garments (10kg washing), then zip up the cover over your clothes and set the fan to either a timer(up to 3 hours) or just leave it permanentaly on. I own this dri buddi and since ive had it, its been an absolute lifesaver. it is much better than using the tumble dryer. i always find that using the ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap to buy and run. easy to set up, disassemble and store.

Disadvantages Disadvantages can't really deal with anything other than a light load.

Bought this as a result of moving to a house without a tumble drier. Looked at Ciao reviews and got a good deal on the product. At first I liked it as it is quite easy to use. Assembly and break down take just moments and it warms up a cold room nicely! My wife didn't care for it one bit as it really can't take a big load. It takes about half a full wash. Also I had to shop around for the right kind of hangers and pegs as you can't dry without them. Although it will dry a full hang in 2/3 hours, and quite economically it can be a bit tiresome. Clothes just wont dry if they are touching either ... more

Advantages Advantages Quicker and tidier than hanging on radiators

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Ugly looking

I live in a flat with limited space in the kitchen with no room for a tumble drier. Even in the summer months I had my heating on to dry my washing so I decided to buy one of these even after reading a few bad reviews. I have to say Its been a great buy for me as I no longer have piles of damp washing around the flat. It doesn't hold as many clothes as it states but Its still better than hanging them on the radiators! The noise is a soft buzzing noise which can be heard if its in the same room as you otherwise If your tele is on then the noise wont bother you. Its not a tumble drier and will ... more
