JPod - Douglas Coupland

"Oh God, I feel like a refugee from a Douglas Coupland novel." "That asshole" "Who does he think he is?" As opening lines to novels go that was a first for me. I've never known an author name check them self so brazenly and I have to say it set me off on the wrong foot with this book. I've never read Coupland before so wasn't really sure what to expect. ...competitions between the people at Jpod such as find the letter 'o' in these groups of numbers. This makes the book more than just a read but also a game. I came back to all the Jpod james throughout the book at the end when i finished reading, this kept me occupied for a very long time but so much fun. I tried some of the games on some people i knew and it was very fun. Douglas Coupland encourperates himself in to the book, this makes the book ...
...don't want to read page after page of fiction then this is the book for you, it's fun interesting and full of gags and unsuspected twists. Some you may not understand but will come to terms with later on. I read this book about 6months ago and it is still on the brain, still certain aspects i'm trying to work out. I loved this book. Every single page surprised me while I was reading it. Sometimes you turn a page and the stuff you see is so unusual for a book that you have to laugh out loud. So be prepared when you are on public transport like a bus that people might start to stare at you. It is very easy to read and very easy to follow. But it is not a childrens book. It describes the work and social life of a genereation in there late 20 ties or 30 ties. ...
