...model from the British manufacturer Jaguar made its first public appearance at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy in December, 2000. This is the car that Jaguar (now a Ford-owned subsidiary) hope will endear them to the more youthful buyer, and manage to lure them away from competitors such as BMW and Audi. ~ ~ The S-Type Sports was the model in this range that the Jaguar designers really went to town on. At first glance, the first change that really ... ...is the modifications by the Jaguar engineers that have really rung the changes in this model. There are two engine choices. The 3.0-litre V6 (240 bhp) or the 4.0-litre V8 (281 bhp). Both have been tuned so as to deliver power rather than torque, with the car really coming into its own at the top end of the rev scale. The smaller-engined 3.0-litre V6 comes with a manual gearbox, and hits the 60 mph mark in less than seven seconds, going on to a top ...

...brings my nicely onto the Jaguar S-Type.
I have test driven TWO S-Types now. The Standard S-Type S and the S-Type SE which has all the goodies. Both 2001 (same age as my 607)
I'm shocked quite frankly.
The Bog standard S-Type S
The first one I drove was an utter dissapointment, I thought stepping into a Jag would be like stepping into a whole other league. Boy was I wrong. It felt like I had actually stepped into something worth nothing.
The ... ...torquey (which it probabley wouldn't) as my 607 and didn't push you into your seat like my 607 does. didn't feel like the correct progression to me!
The gearbox however worked flawlessly.
The inside of the car, was also abismal. Sorry, but it was, no leather, cramped and no toys!! I feel sorry for the people who bought these new!
Now onto my better part of the review, of the second one I test drove.
The S-Type SE.
This one has leather, so immediately ...

...have been kept to the Jaguar guarantee of £150 + vat (every 10,000). Fuel consumption on high speed motorway journeys can top 30mpg, but 26mpg is the average.
One amazing feature of the car is Jaguars ability to change the entire software when in for a service. The latest software upgrade (to cure a minor problem with the airconditioning) has had an unbelievable effect on the 0-60mph performance. Jaguar now let the car rev to over 7,000 rpm before ... ...extra 'buzz' from the exhaust !
The best accessories ? These have to be the rain sensing wipers, the auto-dimming rear view mirror, and the fantastic reverse park control.
The worst accessories ? The headlight washers, which are next to useless jets of water, and the roof bars (on a Jag ?) which are far too difficult to fit.
Some people don't like the look, I do and I have really enjoyed driving it. Would I buy another ? - probably not, my son ...

Well first of all you are probably thinking how on earth does a 22 year old female get to drive a very fast 3.0litre S-type Jaguar? Well its not mine and its my dads. But I get to drive it! Bonus!
Out of all the cars I have driven over the last 5 years, which is quite a few! This is the best.
It is a dream drive, handles well, takes corners well even at high speeds.

The drive is smooth, you cant hear the engine, the radio system is fantastic, the size is perfect and yes a women can drive it with ease.
The acceleration is fantastic, having that extra litre makes the car feel as if its taking off, leaving the men who believe its correct to try and beat women off the lights even thou they are driving a 2.0litre or less. Which I dont agree with, but when driving a ...

...plunge and looked at the Jaguar S-Type. This model is easily the best S-Type that Jaguar make, this is because of many things. The gearbox is very slick and easy to use, the road holding is superb, the interior makes you feel very special, it is a very typical Jaguar. If there is such a thing as a typical Jaguar. If I have 1 gripe it is the acceleration, it could be that little bit better, but they do make 4.0 litre version if speed is your thing. ...

Advantages: Excellent Jaguar Warranty. Dealer service very good. Turns heads. Disadvantages: NOT reliable. Poor built quality. Jaguar DO NOT return emails!!
I once owned a Jaguar X-Type and had may problems. I decided to part-ex it for an S-type.
Since I purchased my S-Type I have had nothing but problems. I do not expect a car that cost £36500 new to be so poor. I have had rain water in the luggage compartment, jogging when accelerating and constant misfire.
I have noticed that there are lots of Ford connector etc. in and around the car. Is Ford's intervention the problem? Trim rattles and do not ... ...the engine management light appears Jaguar are unable to identify which coil is faulty. It just cost me £401 to replace all six coils and spark plugs. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem, it made it worse....
I have been told by two Jaguar dealers that the ignition coil problem and the water ingress in the luggage compartment is very common and Jaguar are aware of it and have since took steps to sort it out with new models.
Should this be ...

The Jaguar S-Type is a sound entry into the luxury car market. The 3.0 V6 is smooth refined and if worked hard extremely powerful. Handling is good for a car in this class but lacks some feel. It can also be tricky to place the S-Type on the road at first but it soon becomes a distant problem. My one major complaint is the interior of which is only average. In my eyes the warm luxury cosseted feel of the XJ and XK models cannot be beaten. Whilst ...

Why oh why Have jaguar named this not-oustanding example of a posh Rover 75 an "S-type"? It's just wrong. Jaguar made the original S type back in the 60s, and the "new S type" is nothing by comparision. It's a bit like the "new" Beatle, or the mini, it looks vaguely like the original (although I don't know why Jaguar called this one the S-type as firstly, it looks more like a Mark II, and secondly, the Mark II was certainly more popular being better ... ...the raw, retro feel of the originals. I wish car manufacturers would stop doing this. Nothing beats a good example of the original S-type. They may be a good 35 years old now, but back then the engines were build to last (350,000 miles so they say). S types were used in the 60s as police cars, by no means are they sluggish, as you'd expect from an "old" car, wouldn't you? If you ever get the courage to step into one of these beasts you'll also realise ...

Say Ooh Aah Jaguar Say Ooh Aah Jaguar!
What can I say except OH BABY WHAT A CAR!!! And I'm a girly girlie, so that's really saying something. You just need to look at it, cuz everything about this car is damn special. It has special CATS suspension so it glides along like a dream and you don't even notice you're moving. It has luxurious leather seats (Mmmmmmm....) with seat warmers (lets face it, if you live in England then you need them). It comes ... ...exception of pink, but if you ask very nicely (and pay the people plenty) they'll paint your love-mobile any colour you want- yes, I did ask. I recommend Titanium, its a super colour and you don't see many around, so it's unusual too. Ooh, what else can I say...? Not being into the whole engine thing, I can't tell you all the technicalities, but I can tell you that it goes FAST. Super fast. Adn you don't even notice it.
And the only thing that I ...

Quick review of Jaguar S-Type 3.0
had my s-type 3.0 se for two and a half years now with no major faults. It was bought second hand and was one owner with full history. main dealer service chargers are way over the top but the beauty is there are many specialists keeping costs down. 29mpg on a run and 24 with my 16 foot caravan on is pretty good in my opinion. I would buy another but while this is running as good as it is I will keep her.what other car offers this level of comfort at what are now bargain prices. my car has the voice recognition option which lets you push a button on the steering wheel and then just tell the car what you want it to do like radio on or cd on track five etc. Pick a good s-type and you will not be disapointed ...

Unfortunately, the S type Jaguar I bought is a reason to NEVER ever again buy a Jaguar. The car sells in Australia for about 110'000 Dollars, well in the price range of a luxury car, but it is extremely poor built. I got a 2000 model and have replaced gearbox, various expensive repairs on the motor and just recently, the famous COP (Coils-on Plugs) had to be replaced. The car looks beautiful, granted but the electric window mechanisms had to be replaced ... ...over 10 K in repairs over a short period of time. Worst of all, Jaguar knows that they produce a terrible product just ignores it. I guess this will force me back to Mercedes or BMW....and I forgot to mention that the service of the Jag dealership is apalling too.... ...

...going to talk about the Jaguar S-type. This is one of the best cars around and i am going to talk about the features inside the car and some facts on what the car has and can do.
The jaguar S-Type is one of the best cars around. My uncle owns one and there are excellent to drive. Lots of people have bought this excellent car,Jaguar S-type.The car has a great interior and the seats are comfortable. The style of the car is amazing.
The jaguar has ... ...need to sit too close to the steering wheel. You can also have a sat-nav with destination set by postcode.
The Transmission on this car is automatic,it has a total of 240 Brake Horse Power,it takes 6.9 seconds to do 0-60mph and the interior is biege. The S-type is able to do a satisfactory speed of at least 145mph. With the sport package ,the S-Type straddles the border between “firm” and “harsh.” The car goes around corners with a certain grace ...

This is an absolute beauty of a car, with its luxurious leather interior and its 3.0 V6 engine. It has suprisingly good handling for a car with such style. The boot is great and can fit numorous suitcases in with ease and space. I particularly like the feel of the car. When driving the s-type you know you've got a car on your hands. The problem with all jags is the fuel cosumption and that it is literally impossible to get spare parts for the car. ...
