*DANGER* - Big Cat On The Prowl

Advantages: A lot of car for the money. Beautiful smooth drive. Roomy. Power to spare
Disadvantages: Very heavy on petrol.

...my late uncles Mark 10 Jaguar when I was only knee high to a grasshopper. He was what in those days would be called a "gentleman farmer", and used to change his Jaguar for a new model every January 1st, (nice if you can afford it!) so I was privileged enough to be ferried around in some really classy machinery as a wee fella, even if my own late father's budget would only stretch to cars like the Ford Anglia and Triumph Herald. ~ ~ For the past ...
...to actually purchase a used Jaguar XJ6 of my own for use as my taxi. With this idea in mind I've been assiduously trawling through all the second hand car websites like "Autotrader" and "Exchange and Mart" looking for the right car at the right price, alas without too much success. The first thing you have to realise when you go looking for a used JaguarXJ6 is that this car has been around for a LONG time, the first models rolling of the production ...

I Love you my Beauty

Advantages: Fast and sexy machine
Disadvantages: Stops automatically at every petrol station

The truth will always come out, or so my mother always told me. The truth has finally come out. I LOVE MY XJ6. A 3.4 Auto in Metallic Green, with a fawn leather interior,on an old W plate. She will happily go from 0-60 in about 6 seconds, or so Im told, I've never been brave enough to try it myself. She has four doors and enough boot space to fit enough luggage in for a month on holiday. She looks good, she sounds good, she smells good, and boy ...
...years ago for the princely sum of £500.00, with six months MOT and two months Tax. Since then she has had a reconditioned engine fitted, £600.00. A lovely new interior, £400.00. Auxilliary carbs, £250.00 ouch, a full set of tyres at £46.00 each, and a brand new exhaust £450.00. The next project, is to put a Lpg conversion on to her at a total cost of £1200. Why? Do I hear you cry, have you been stupid enough to spend all this money on a car that ...

The Jaguar XJ6

Advantages: very spacious, plenty of boot space, extremely powerful and great to look at.
Disadvantages: the main disadvantage would be the fuel consumption and insurance costs.

Jaguar XJ6 The jaguar xj6 is undoubtedly my most favourite of all cars. The sleek exterior makes them a real eye catcher and even with so many other cars on the road today, people do still have a good look at the xj6. They are fantastic for long distance driving as they have the engine sizes (2.9, 3.6 and 4.0) to cope effortlessly. And with the amount of leg room, comfortability is achieved too. These cars seem to just go on and on and on! My jaguar ...
...consumption or insurance, then a jaguar xj6 is a worthwhile investment. If you look after it, then it won't let you down. You can actually buy them privately for quite reasonable prices too nowadays. And mileage isn't really an overall issue either, as I said mine's done over 213 thousand (in about 12 years) and still going strong. Of course if you really want to buy a new one then the prices start at a staggering £39,000. Think I’ll stick to my ...

DAVE MURRAY

Advantages: Good Fuel economy, light weigt body, stylish looks
Disadvantages: Easy to get bumped on the doors in the super market car park.

Great practical car, the 2.7 litre diesel model can give great fuel economy ,up to 46 miles per gallon if driven modestly. The car is well equipped and comforable and turns many a head if bought in black with 20" alloys. The new updated styling with its distinctive gills differ it from earlier models. On the down side there is no body impact strips along the cars length to prevent bumps form fellow shoppers at the super market., we always park ...
...(well away from other shoppers). Also maddening is having to keep the ignition key in and turned to one to use the car entetainment centre when the engine is off. Any how its a great car lets hope I dont get hit too much with depreciation when its time sell ...

Luxury on a shoestring

Advantages: Comfort, solid build, handling
Disadvantages: thirsty, parts expensive

I bought an old (1989 F reg) 3.6 Sovereign from my neighbour for peanuts when my previous car was stolen from the station car park, and I needed wheels in a hurry. Not the Ideal way to buy an old Jaguar, which has the reputation for being a money pit! But, so far in the 6 months I've had the car, it has proved very reliable. Even allowing for the 2 new tyres (Metric size so eye-wateringly expensive at just under £200 each for Dunlop, the only current ...
...pads & master cylinder) - It's an old car after all. Its still not outragrously expensive. But it is thirsty, returning 22 - 23 mpg on average, and 27-28 on the motorway. My wife, who is usually a very nervous driver absolutely loves this car, she says it almost drives itself! There was a bit on TV a while ago about the top 10 safest card, and these old Jags were in there at No. 10. Not bad for a design that goes back to the mid 1980's. The plan ...

Quick review of Jaguar XJ6 3.0 V6

save the CAT, I just rescued one a week ago. Thirsty little kitty but I am keeping it anyway! I am willing to spend 15,000 dollars completely restoring it and won't even bat an eyelash-I wouldn't spend 5000 dollars on a brand new car-too much plastic and tin junk for the last 20 years! ...

Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign

Advantages: class
Disadvantages: price

Jaguar XJ6 The first thing you have to realise when you go looking for a used JaguarXJ6 is that this car has been around for a LONG time, Consequently there are a lot of used Jaguar XJ6 models for sale, but many have either been "thrashed" or else are in generally poor and run down condition ensuring that (if possible) it has a full Jaguar main dealer history that is backed up by the old MOT Certificates and receipts. Offset this with highly polished ...
