Jakemans Blackcurrant Soothers Why Jakemans? Quality product that are always in stock in my husbands car. Great price. Suitable for vegetarians. On this occasion I purchased because I had a cold which included blocked sinuses - I was not expecting these to clear the sinuses they were aimed more at soothing my throat....a surprise was in store. Presentation... Due to the fact that we always have plenty of Jakemans in the car I am aware that these sweets/lozengers are a product for easing the symptoms of a cold. We like to have them occasionally as a treat as we enjoy them. If I was seeing the ... more

Having had a cold a few weeks ago I was really suffering and I felt absolutely awful. However, I made the much needed trip to Boots to stock up on all the essentials to try and help my cold symptoms be relieved somewhat. The nicest flavour of the bunch has to be the blackcurrant ones – my favourite flavour and one I cannot resist, even if I don’t have a sore throat. I buy these from my local petrol station and they cost 75p for a 100g bag. That sounds like quite a lot of money but really they are worth it. I have also had the honey and lemon variety but I ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none for me

I was shopping in Boots last weekend when I suddenly spotted a bag of Jakemans sweets that I regularly buy, but this time they were packaged within a newly coloured bag that I had not seen before. This meant there was a new flavour for me to try, and so I quickly picked a bag up. I absolutely love Jakemans cough sweets, and I have tried all of the available flavours from the range, but tend to usually buy the original throat and chest cough sweets, purely because they seem to often be the only available flavour in most of the shops, garages or chemists that I use. My Dad first introduced me to ... more
