Quantum of Solace is the first Bond game to be released on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and I was hoping for quite a lot as I loved the classic Bond games that were for the old PS2. It has been designed by Activision and features a very similar control system and the same graphics engine (apparently) that was used in the very successful Call of Duty 4 but also has some great new features that make the game play very enjoyable. Although it is a first ... ...system which allows you to blind fire from cover, a lot like the system on Gears of War. Also when near an enemy instead of knifing them or hitting them with your weapon you can perform stylish takedowns by pressing a few buttons. Although this is only in the campaign not online. The campaign features scenes from both Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace although they are jumbled up and quite hard to follow but it is a lot better than a lot of movie ...

Quantum of Solace (xbox 360) needs little introduction, it's mainly based on the latest 007 film of the same name, although there's a little overlap with Casino Royale too.
This game was developed by Treyarch, who also made Call of Duty 3 (but not Call of Duty 4 which was made by Infinity Ward) and is based on the engine from the Golden Joysticks Game of the Year, Call of Duty 4.
Prices vary from shop to shop but expect to pay around £35-40 for ... ...multi-player modes. Single-player
The single-player mode follows the story of the film(s) quite closely so don't play the game before seeing the film if you don't want to see spoilers! The game starts where Casino Royale left off and then quickly shifts to where Quantum of Solace picks up the story.
The game immediately feels quite familiar to anyone who's played Call of Duty 4, much of the movement, graphic design/icons, etc. are pretty similar ...

...has gone in to the James Bond character and the environments also look superb. One thing that is in QOS which is not in the COD games is a cover system. In my opinion it works well. It is quite similar to Gears. It is easy to understand and then use it to your advantage. The single player overall was enjoyable. It is rather short - I completed it in a day - but the time you spend playing will be worth it. The levels are on the whole good. They are ... ...I found the game modes interesting and not just the usual team deathmatch, capture the flag, etc. However, it doesn't have a ranking system which could shorten the replayability factor. Overall, James Bond Quantum of Solace is a very enjoyable game which is a rare occurence among movie tie-ins. ...
