Advantages Advantages Tasty, good for dogs with allergies

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, not sold in supermarkets

Who better to review dog food then me, the dog!!! Well, I ask you, what do you humans know about the taste of dog food? Of course no matter what you put down in front of us dogs, we will eat it, we eat anything from old chicken bones, mouldy pizza left overs, stale bread, cat food, bird food, mouldy cheese & old chip suppers left over in the street all night, lovely!! Problem is I have a skin complaint (eczema) & the vet told my owner that I have an allergy to meat, poultry & wheat. The vet told him that I would need to eat only lamb & rice, fish or fish & rice for each meal for the rest of my ... more

    Advantages Advantages Hypo-allergenic

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some flavours have small sized pieces

One of my dogs is a Siberian Husky called Nanook. What we didn’t know when we bought Nanook, is that she is very severely inbred. Unsurprisingly, this leads to a lot of health problems, one of which is an extremely delicate tummy. Nanook had ‘cowpat’ type poo from the day we brought her home from her unscrupulous breeder, and is quite frankly so skinny you would be forgiven for thinking she is mistreated. (she’s not of course!) Numerous vet tests revealed nothing wrong, and it was decided she must have some kind of food intolerance. In Nanook’s first year with us we tried loads of different ... more

I first started using James Wellbeloved when one of my shelties developed an unknown food intollerance, causing severe collitis. The vet had put her on a prescription diet but she wasnt enjoing it at all, I had to find something she could enjoy. When J.W was suggested to me I was a little concerned about the price but it was no more expensive than the prescription diet so decided to give it a try. J.W is hypoallergenic, addressing digestive problems as well as skin conditions which often flare up as a result of food ingredients. J.W contains no beef, pork, soya, wheat, gluten, dairy or eggs ... more

Advantages Advantages Great for my Dog

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price and Choice of Flavours

After having worked in two different types of pet shops (one which was not all that nice, hence why I quit!) and also being the manageress of an animal shelter, I have come across many types of dry dog foods. James Wellbeloved, unlike much of its competition is actually made and packaged in Britain, rather than like some well known brands whose foods are made abroad in countries such as Thailand and Korea. The food is then shipped across to Britain where it is packaged. This is not a good practice as the food loses its nutrients during the transportation and often becomes contaminated. It is ... more

My dog, Kaia is not what you would call a fussy dog when it comes to food, but the one food which she likes the most is one called James Wellbeloved. James Wellbeloved is a food that is suitable for dogs with a delicate diet and digestion problems. The details on the pack, states that they specially selected the natural, wholesome ingredients. This food does not contain any added additives such as artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and is supposed to be gentle on a dog's digestive tract and helps make their coat glossy and healthy. One of my concerns when buying food for Kaia is ... more

Advantages Advantages An excellent dog food, easy to digest and hypo-allergenic.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Those 15kg sacks are heavy!

I’d like to introduce you to our two girls. They’d like to be introduced to you too, because they’re friendly dogs even though they look a little fearsome. Both are pedigree Rhodesian Ridgebacks – Rosie’s four years old and Kia is still a puppy at only twenty months. Rosie will always be the larger of the two – she’s actually a little on the tall side of the breed standard for a bitch and weighs about 40kg, but Kia isn’t a long way behind. Rosie came to us when she was seven weeks old. Kia was four months old and unfortunately we were not her first home. Both had previously been fed on ... more

I am the proud owner of 2 rather large Boxer dogs,Jake who is 3 years old and Bala(Jakes daughter)who will be two years old in August. Now over the years i have had many battles with my dogs when it comes to feeding,if anyone reading this has a Boxer you will know that these are not the easiest breed to deal with where meal times are concerned. My dogs prefer wet canned food over dry but this leaves me with a very difficult problem,"What's that?" i hear you ask.,GAS!!,if i feed my dogs can food i have to suffer the whole evening, having to hold my nose and put up with those all too familiar ... more

Advantages Advantages The Puppy/Performance range is ideal for toy dogs

Disadvantages Disadvantages I need to give extra vitamins for my 'performance' dogs

I have owned, bred and shown Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for 23 years or so and have at some time used most kinds of available foods. I have been giving James Wellbeloved Duck/Rice Puppy/Performance to 3 out of 4 of my dogs for about 4 years now and I am delighted with it. I firstly used puppy for a pup, but found that once she was ready for the adult grade the kibble was too big for a toy sized dog. On the advice of other show friends I went back to Puppy/Performance, which was fine. My dogs are very active so require higher nutrition than pet dogs who lead quieter lives. My dogs are fine ... more

I recently changed my dogs food to this James Wellbeloved after I realised how much better it was for him. James Wellbeloved Adult Complete Dog Food is a nutritious complete dog food that is specifically formulated to be gentle on dog's digestion; excluding many of the ingredients which are known to commonly cause allergies including wheat gluten and dairy products. If you look at the ingredients on most cheaper dog foods, you'll see that the percentage of meats is very low! Sometimes being as low as 2%. With James Wellbeloved Duck & Rice Kibble, there is;... Advantages Advantages No Unhealthy Additives

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be Pricey

I have two rescue dogs, who were originally fed on canned food. I began finding it a bind, nipping up to the supermarket to buy tins that seemed to be expensive and with less nutrition in them as they should. However one day browsing on the internet I came across a site which caught my attention. www.wellbeloved.com A site dedicated to a dry dog food that claimed to be free from additives, hypo allergenic and in a complete meal. With interest I sent off for a sample, which came through the post. However my two dogs got to the post first and soon polished off the contents of the small pack ... more
