Advantages: Lightweight, compact when folded, closed handle Disadvantages: not suitable for regular off road use
...C from the Spanish manufacturers Jane is a welcome addition to their popular range. The original Carrera was very similar to the Carrera C but had 2 umbrella style handles.
The C in Carrera C stands for Continuous, as the handle on this model is a single, closed handle.
What's so good about that? Well, anyone who has ever tried to push a pushchair with two handles whilst holding the hand of a toddler, or carrying a bag knows that it is a complete ... ...or Rebel) or the lovely Jane Auto Carrycot. All of these options can still be used on the Carrera with the pushchair seat in situ, giving it a great versatility.
Here’s the technical specification, geeky but very useful (nothing worse than deciding on a pushchair and then finding out it doesn’t fit in your boot or you need muscles like a bodybuilder to lift the thing!):

Advantages: Easy to steer, folds *really* neatly - looks fab! Disadvantages: Car seat a little difficult to fit
Wow! This has to be the best purchase we made for our little one. It looks good when out and about . Available in 5 different designs, all of which are understatedly stylish - a great asset as I doubt it's simplicity will ever really date and it means you don't have to worry about your, or your baby's, outfit clashing with a busy, fussy design (as if you would!). A premium is charged for the 3 "asymmetric" colour options, but when I compared them ... ...and therefore more comfortable for their passenger. As for cleaning - we took the system on holiday to Spain and the car seat cover got very grubby on the plane. We were relieved to find a quick wipe over with some soapy water made it as good as new!
In shops it is a dream, with the wheels unlocked it steers so nicely that I see mums with bulkier prams looking on in envy as we wind our way down aisles they can only dream of getting down! The frame ...

Advantages: Extremely light, compact when folded, stylish appearance Disadvantages: Foot muff (additional accessory) a little awkward, long lead time on delivery
...happy to say that the Jane Carrera C has done us proud so far. We combined it with the Auto Carrycot which I won't go into too much detail about, as that comes under a separate section. However I will say, that it attaches to the Carrera very easily (without having to remove the pushair part at all), and offered us loads of advantages. In the first few months Max was facing us in what looked rather like a traditional pram set-up (but with a much ... ...colours and descriptions in the Jane catalogue are very miselading - Titanium looks a very dreary grey. For the first 6 weeks the shop lent us the Carrera in the Tejano fabric, as our one took an absolute age to arrive. Tejano is a sort of denim and cream fabric, which I didnt really like the sound of, but I was pleasantly surprised - it was actually rather nice. However, I must say I personally prefer the Titanium.
I touched on one of the disadvantages ...

Jane Carrera C with Matrix
The biggest draw to buying this travel system was the matrix lie-flat car seat which is lovely and cosy and well made. I wanted the matrix as we do alot of driving out to family who live far away and I thought it would be better and more comfortable for the baby to lie flat. The Carrera C itself seemed like a good buggy too and was fine when I tested it out in the shop. We went for the asymmetric design which was alittle ... ...birth of my baby when Jane said that the buggy was discontinued in my fabric choice (Sky Tech) and orders had been fulfilled. NO THEY BLOOBY HAVENT. We never got the changing bag.
My baby was 3 weeks old in a borrowed buggy that I didn't really like. Not quite how I imagined things to be. A friend rang round and found one in a sale which she bought and I paid for.
To Push:
Not so bad with just the baby and a changing bag. I really liked it at ...

Advantages: COMPACT - fitted into boot of out new VW Polo Disadvantages: Difficult to Open + POOR service from Manufacturers
...did their best] the manufacturers Jane decided to 'give' our order to somebody else. We finally received the pushchair over 2 months from the order date. And the foot-muff arrived a month after that!
I had read reviews about how easy it would be to 'open' the pushchair with ONE HAND! That is absolute nonsense - I am a reasonably strong male and I often struggle with it using both hands and that's after almost a year of regular use
We would have ...

Advantages: Light portable frame, Easy to steer, Good safe flat positoned car seat Disadvantages: Difficult to assemble, heavy oversized car seat.
I bought the Jane Carrera Pro Matrix system as a new mum and after much research. Although it does handle beautifully to steer and looks good it is a right pain to assemble/disemble. The flat car seat is brilliant for baby and once you get the hang on installing it is relatively easy but it is sooo heavy and big that its not portable as a carry cot. It is also very tempermental to lock into the pram frame and a completely nightmare to then unlock ... ...weight and size and the rubbish pram mechanism. When using upright, the car seat is rear facing and no matter how tight you pull the seatbelts to hold it in place it still wobbles around so we are still using it in the flat position (Baby now 5 months old).
We have perservered with this system as its not cheap but I am about to switch to just using it as a buggy, forget the travel system, and will invest in a new permenant car seat to last the next ...

Advantages: car seat lies flat in back of car Disadvantages: plenty!!
We have had this since our daughter was born, being a new mum, naieve about the whole baby thing, i thought this pram would be excellentr. but how wrong i was.
My biggest complaint with this travel system is the way the detatchable car seat fits into the back seat, who designed this!!
The clips are so stiff to clip onto the seatbelts i used to give up and not go out in the car.
As for clipping it to the main pram frame, this is probably the hardest ... ...and as your baby gets heavier, the harder it is to lower the seat onto the frame!!
There is no clips to hang bags and the space underneath for shopping is very limited.
The easiest thing i find to do is put the carseat in with my daughter upright rear facing..
So all in all a badly designed travel system ,putting me through hell most of babies newborn days ...
