Watch you don't get a 'jelly belly'!

Advantages: A new twist on jelly beans
Disadvantages: Not widely availably, pricey and NOT JUICY ENOUGH *stamps foot*

You know what happened today? I've been craving sweets for a couple of days now but have refused to buy any because of my healthy eating regime and today I finally got round to sorting the last couple of bags of the kids Christmas presents out and what do I find? The biggest box of jelly beans I've ever seen. Not just any jelly beans either - Americas Favourite Jelly Bean... Jelly Belly. In all the mess of Christmas wrapping paper and toys this wondrous ...
...about. But now I've found it. *chuckles manically* So what are Jelly Belly jelly beans and how do they differ to your bog standard jelly beans? The answer is they're just so different it's like comparing a Ferrero Rocher to a Thorntons Continental, they're both delicious but one's just got 'the edge'. Jelly Belly has the edge. I've always loved the strong and fruity flavours in a bag of jelly beans, they'd definitely rank number one in a Top Ten ...

Are these as magical as the beans Jack planted?

Advantages: Reasonably healthy, wide variety, found in several stores
Disadvantages: Costly, addictive

...day I tried my first Jelly-Belly Bean, the answer was clear…! -----THE BEGINNING----- Jelly Belly beans are an American sweet, dating all the way back to 1869. Jelly beans were popular sweets for a short while, until the chocolate craze in the early 1900s. But nevertheless, when chocolate became rare during the Second World War, everybody craved other sweets, including the jelly bean. In 1976, in Los Angeles, the Jelly Belly bean was created, in ...
...Now, Jelly Belly has explored taste buds all over the world, including settling down in good old Britain! -----JELLY BELLY BRITAIN----- Jelly Belly beans are being sold in stores all over Britain now! I first stumbled across them in my local 'Globally Sweet' shop (a shop that sold nothing but snacks and drinks from all over the world - it's closed down now though!) I'd never heard of them until that point about two years ago, it was my friend who ...

Review of Jelly-Belly Jelly Beans

Not just your average jelly bean.

Advantages: A very wide variety of extremely tasty flavours.
Disadvantages: Expensive compared to the bog standard jelly bean and hard to come by.

As Christmas was fast approaching, I asked my brother to get me something different for a change. You see, I am a crazy Tigger fan and he always gets me a new Tigger for my collection at Christmas and I fancied a change, not to mention my bedroom looks like a kids room as I have Tiggers everywhere. My Christmas present was a bit late but I eventually got it when I went back to Yorkshire to visit my family and by gum it was worth the wait. He handed ...
...opened it I was attracted to two large bags of bright, multicoloured Jelly Belly beans. Although I was kind of disappointed as I don’t like jelly beans, but he assured me that these were different. He was right…  The packaging My parcel included the bag of Jelly Belly beans, a reseal plastic bag and a leaflet. The Jelly Belly beans were in a very bright and attractive bag. There were plenty of colours to draw your attention to them. ...

Technicolour Dream Beans

Advantages: lots of realistic flavours
Disadvantages: expensive, hard to get hold of

All children love sweets right? All children love all sweets? Wrong. As a child there were few sweets that I was wary of. They included anything to do with liquorice and for some bizarre reason jelly beans. You see I had a bad experience with an inferior brand of jelly bean that took me quite a few years to get over. Thankfully with the love and support of my family (namely my mother who kept on buying my sister and I quality jelly beans for Christmas) ...
...I call this therapy The Jelly Belly Treatment. Let’s face it jelly beans are a very American thing. In the grand old days of the British Sweet shop they would have been laughed out of town for being too small and too uniform, too perfect in shape and size. For some reason British sweets have a tendency to be huge irregular shaped things that look as if they have been hand made. Jelly beans are quite clearly factory produced. The mixture of textures ...

I don't think you're ready for this jelly

Advantages: In a sweet league of their own
Disadvantages: Not mixed up enough

Never mind the wheel being the greatest invention, these jelly beans are much more fun and tasty too! Every time I buy a bag I feel excited (don't laugh, I'm easily pleased) at the thought of tasting a new flavour. They came out quite a while ago but they weren't that widely available in sweet shops but recently I have been noticing them more and more and had to try some. They come in a variety of forms from small plastic bags and boxes to bigger ...
...pick and mix. The packaging is really colourful and these jelly beans are like no other. So, i decided to go for a little bag of them, I would be there for hours choosing which ones to go for, and of course then there is the price. I got a cone shaped bag with 135g in for £2.50 - which is pretty crazy I think, but somehow I still want to buy them. Let lose on the pick and mix I could spend a fiver in minutes. There were other shops selling them ...

Have a Jelly Belly Christmas...

Advantages: tasty, lots of random flavours
Disadvantages: more-ish - not good, as they're expensive!

I got back from university yesterday, expecting a nice, relaxing holiday period, and I've already had my dreams shattered. I've been pestered constantly by my little sister, who has missed me over the last 10 weeks, I've had to try and fix my car, which has decided to play up while I've been away, and today I had to take my little sister Christmas shopping. Wandering around Chelmsford, trying to find a cheaper version of a really cool corkscrew I ...
...few shelves completely packed with Jelly Belly jelly beans. My sister was ecstatic! Every Christmas we get a pack of these beauties in our stockings (me? too old for a stocking? Never!) and she can't wait! Jelly Belly jelly beans are THE definitive jelly bean. We don't want jelly beans that all taste the same, no matter what colour they are - not when these are available. Jelly Belly history dates back to 1869, apparently, when two brothers from ...

TELL ME...WHAT'S YOUR FLAVOUR

Advantages: Utterly divine , and only FOUR calories!
Disadvantages: You may feel sick if you eat too many!

No I have not had a funny turn…. Well after having the week from hell, starting with a bomb scare on Monday morning and in the same week the Euro dossier was released (not recommended for bed time reading!) So the week continued in the same relentless fashion… Stress relief from work, has to involve legal pathogens (sometimes this is unfortunate!) Advantages: Some unusual flavours in a bean
Disadvantages: Some unusual flavours in a bean!

If you have never heard of these before they are small bean shaped sweets. Each with a different flavour jelly encased in a semi hard sugar shell. Jelly without the Belly

Advantages: Lots of flavours to choose from
Disadvantages: You could get carried away

If you're a lover of sweets then you'll really love these. I like jelly beans to start with but compared with Jelly Belly beans other brands just seem like sugar flavoured lumps. Unlike most brands of Jelly Beans that only haev 5 or 6 flavours these have 50 core flavours that are available all the time. I won't list them all but a few of my favourites are:- Strawberry Jam Very Cherry Strawberry Cheescake Buttered Popcorn Pink Grapefruit Chocolate ...
...range of flavours check out their website @ www.jellybelly.com or www.jellybelly-uk.com depending where you are. As well as the hardcore 50 they also have a sour range that has flavours like:- Sour apple Sour cherry Sour peach Sour Grape Sour Strawberry etc. They sometime bring out what they call "Rooky" flavours. These are new flavours that they are considering making part of the permanent range (they usualy demote one the least popular flavours ...

Yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Advantages: so many flavours. cheap in America
Disadvantages: too expensive in England

After a fantastic 4 week stay in New York, I became rather addicted to all American foods, especially these little 'candies'! In New York a 2.2lb bag of 49 different flavours cost $16.50 (£8.29) from WalMart, although little $1 bags were available from news stands and vending machines. In England, I have struggled to find them, but did see them on a road service station were the little bags that I saw in American costing $1 (50p) were being sold ...
...the States. Jelly Belly Originals come in 49 official flavours, thats far too many to mention here! They is also a 50th flavour- Jalapeño! This is not included in their 49 flavour mix bags though. The beans are about 1cm long and brightly coloured! Each flavour has almost a different colour. They are much like other jelly beans, chewy and lovely and sweet! Jelly Belly do have fantastic flavours though- which really taste like what its supposed to! ...

Jelly good for your Belly

Advantages: Large variety of yummy flavours
Disadvantages: Expensive

Jelly Belly, jelly beans are marketed as the original gourmet jelly bean, and this discription is not unfair. Dating back about 150 years now, this American company is the leader in the market in this field, with over 40 different flavours. Reassuringly for all those people worried about eating sweets, they are very low on the old calorie count, and very high on taste. Each sweet is rather small, allowing more than one to be consumed at the same ...
...company has actually produced a menu card of Jelly beans that are nice together. These recipes include Banana cream pie and pineapple salsa. Although it is easy to find bags of these at local newsagents and the like, these contain a general mixture of all of the flavours, often including ones which you do not like. To avoid this, try and seek out a specialist sweet shop, which may have all of the flavours in different containers, allowing the buyer ...

Truly a Gourmet sweet...

Advantages: can't get better taste and variety
Disadvantages: not cheap!

I'm sat here polishing off a box of these received for Christmas with my girlfriend, and woefully thinking that, any minute, there aren't going to be any left, and the thought is really pretty upsetting! I remember when these first turned up in a London department store, and I was amazed by the watermelon ones - not only did these sweets genuinely taste like watermelon, but the jelly inside the casing was red! Perhaps I'm easily pleased, but that ...
...to get hold of now; most supermarkets seem to have those little selection boxes, and places like John Lewis have large dispensers of individual flavours so you can pick and choose as many or as few as you like. This particular box is a selection of 50 flavours, containing those as diverse as jalapeno (no really, they're worryingly like chewing on a bit of the pepper itself...hot, hot, hot!) and peanut butter (shouldn't work, but it does...) as well ...

Review of Jelly-Belly Jelly Beans

Jelly belly=belly of jelly?(rhetorical question?!)

Advantages: Yum!
Disadvantages: Expensive for what they are.

Well, I was in Edinburgh last weekend, and like most tourists, I decided to visit Harvey Nicks... Now, I'm not reviewing the shop here, but my point is that I managed to find Jelly Belly jelly beans for the first time in over ten years! (I have since become aware that Woolworths stock them...D'oh!). Anyways, much to the chargrin of my girlfriend, I decided to invest in a 300g bag of "assorted flavours", at the princely sum of £4.99. (that's £1.66 ...
...when I bought these at one of the local sweet shops (long since gone), that there were leaflets describing which colours of beans were which flavour. (Well, it's not always that obvious!) Harvey Nicks had no leaflets! AArrgh! Very diappointing for their flagship Scottish store. So, I was forced into the dark dark world of gourmet jelly bean tasting without a menu. That leads me to another point; these jelly beans are described as "gourmet", and ...

Makes my knees turn to Jelly-Belly

Advantages: So many flavours, generally lovely tastes
Disadvantages: Darn expensive

...USA but without a doubt Jelly-Belly beans are winning the race with a massive lead. A lot of beans are just sickly sweet lumps of sugar with no discernable difference in taste between the different beans. Jelly Belly has a product that overcomes this and provides the consumer with over 50 flavours. The flavours are too varied to list but they are as widely spread as peanut butter, cherry pie, jalapeno and cinammon. If you haven't tried them you ...
...want for more. The Jelly-Belly website offers beans in many varied packages but I go for the 1Kg bag with 49 flavours. This lets me fill up my bean dispenser two and a half times before needing another bag. And yes the dispenser is from Jelly-Belly too! Those are the good points but now the bad. The last time I bought a 1Kg bag it cost me £18 and that is cheap compared to some packages offered. Nevertheless I think that once you have tried them ...

Jolly Jelly Belly Beans!

Advantages: There's something for everybody
Disadvantages: Some flavours are really gross!

Jelly Belly Beans!!! Jelly Beans that come in 50 different flavours most of which are listed on the back of the pack for you to identify your sweet to. However you don't get all of the flavours in each pack, quite disappointing but oh well, next time maybe I'll get the ones I missed.
