Advantages Advantages Powerful stuff that doesn't ruin your hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages Typical peroxide foul smell, colour description on packet is awry

I am now officially peroxide ginger and yellow! Have you seen the yellow shade of the website www.lycos.com, well that is the colour of my hair, in places. Some of it is due to my own making and I also feel that the product is to blame. I have ‘mousey’ brown hair that was untreated until my experiment. I previously had highlights, perms and other treatments, all of which ‘took’ well according to my hairdresser. I’d just had the last strands of highlights cut out before I went on holiday to Bournemouth. Normally, using the south coast sun and some freshly squeezed lemon juice, I can recreate ... more

Advantages Advantages Strongest available type lightener.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Messy and smelly.

This is THE best hair lightener/bleach for 'off-the'shelf' public customers i.e. still not as good as the hairdressers' professional formulations but as close as you can get. This is a must for 'bleach-babies' like myself! Recently revamped - this product now comes boxed as a complete kit whereas, up until a few months ago, you had to buy all the components separately. Now, for just £4.99, you can buy the kit containing peroxide formula, lightening powder, mixing bowl, application tinting brush, finishing shampoo and plastic hood and gloves - a bargain! It is available in two strengths ... more

Advantages Advantages Lightens dark hair very easily, low price for alot in the box, easy to rinse out

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only one sachet of the conditioning shampoo

It's been a while since my last review, so here it is another hair product reviewed by me. Jerome Russell B Blonde is a range of hair lighteners specifically made to well, make your hair blonde. It was time for a change for me, usually having darker lowlights such as red or black on my natural medium/darkish brown hair, so I decided to use this product for some blonde highlights. The Box I bought was called 'Lightener for Medium-Dark Brown Hair'. *AVAILABILITY* 4/5 I have seen Jerome Russell hair products around in shops such as Superdrug, Boots etc. But being as I presumed Jerome Russell was ... more

Advantages Advantages Works really well, even on very dark hair

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Stinky

When I was younger, I used to be a bit of a 'punk'. I loved to have short spikey hair in a varety of colours, often experimenting with crazy patterns . Now, I'm older, a parent, with much less time for tittivating about making myself look nice, and I'm generally content to have just a nice overall colour - my current favourite being a nice rich brown . My hair naturally is very dark brown - so dark brown that in fact it borders on black . It also has a large amount of grey, for which I thank my mums side of the family who have all gone grey early - she started at 15, I started at ten, and my ... more

Advantages Advantages Not very damaging, lifts hair colour considerably, cheap, worked well on my dark hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be hard to get ratio correct

For a while now (nearly 4 years) i have been frequently dying my hair slightly below shoulder hair dark brown/black at home using nice 'n' easy but lately i become bored with my bland colour and scoured the internet for a good quality bleach to lighten it up by adding a few chunks to my fringe. I have naturally light mousy brown hair, and at the time had 1/2" roots. Obviously since my hair was layer upon layer of dye i knew it would be a lengthy time consuming process that i doubted would even turn out satisfactory. Alas that did not stop me. i was set on it. During my search i came accross ... more

One word... AMAZING. This has to be the best home bleaching kit out there. I had been on and off about bleaching my hair for a good year. One trip to the chemist i found a nice all in one kit by b blonde so i thought, why not? I brought it and took it home. I opened it to see what i have a to read the instructions. I had a small bottle of 30% bleach and a packet of peroxide powder, a mixing tub, a small brush to apply the mixture, a pair of gloves and a plastic hood. As my hair was quite long at the time a decided before i did it i would buy another kit so i had enough. I sat down on the floor ... more

Jerome Russel B.Blonde, suitable for medium to dark hair: I have tried quite a lot of hair dyes in my time, but as yet have never found one as good as Jerome Russells B . Blonde. It is excellent value at £4.99, you get included: 1 Packet Powder bleach Gloves Mixing Bowl Tinting Brush Peroxide formula Plastic cap Shampoo sachet I have very dark brown hair and find it very difficult to dye it effectively! But with this product my hair colour changes within the hour, not like any other I have bought. It is very simple to use: Firstly you simply put the bleach powder into mixing bowl (don’t ... more

It was a few weeks ago on Big Hair day that I decided to have my hair bright red so The night before I bought my pre lightenere because I need it as my hair is black and the red colour wouldn't show up otherwise. I opted for Bblonde powder bleach and bought a bottle of Bblonde 12% 40vol. Peroxide as my developer becuase my hair is very dark. This was around 1.99 from Wilkos but you can purchase it from boots and other shops. But I have found that Superdrug sometimes does not stock it but in bigger stores they most invariably will do. I came home and teared open the bleach powder which is ... more

Hi, once again my daughter wants to write a review, so it's over to Mhairi : - PRICE? Okey doke, first off, how much does this bleach cost? Well I bought it from Boots the chemist and it cost £4.99. This sounds a lot, but I assure you it's worth every penny. WHAT TYPE OF BLEACHING KIT DID I BUY? There is 4 kits you can choose from - #1 is for highlighting your hair, #2 is for lightening fair to light brown hair, #3 is for lightening medium to dark brown hair, and #4 is for lightening men's hair. I chose the kit for lightening medium to dark brown hair. WHAT DOES THE PACKAGING LOOK LIKE? The ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Need to buy peroxide seperate.

I have been dying and bleaching my hair for the last 8 years and its been every colour you can think of, even green and so on. It's been boring old black for a few months now and im rather bored of it, i decided i wanted it bright blue so as its black i had to bleach it first. I have had some rather mishaps with bleach before so i was quite wary of more bleach on my poor hair. So wandering around Boots i saw the box for light to dark hair and bought it and realised when i got home i needed to buy the peroxide seperate, back to town i go. Ready with everything in front of me and a willing ... more
