Jodi Picoult is 43 years old, an American author with seventeen published novels. She is married to Tim and they have three children. They live in Hanover, New Hampshire in the United States. I first read a Jodi Picoult novel two years ago. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed three of her novels so far – Nineteen Minutes, Perfect Match and Plain Truth - with a couple more of hers on my shelves, waiting to be read. She is definitely up there in my list of favourite authors. I like how she tackles difficult subjects – euthanasia, child abuse, date rape and so on. She does not shy away from ... more

Jodi Picoult Nineteen Minutes Your son says the bullying was unbearable But his revenge was murder What would you do? This statement is on the front of Nineteen Minutes, the Jodi Picoult's novel about the aftermath of a school shooting in a small town. It became her first book to debut at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list. I have read quite a few of Jodi Picoult's books now and I am a big fan. I did get a bit bored with one in the middle of it and never finished it but on the whole I really like her books. I like the fact that she often asks a question on the front of her books and ... more

Advantages Advantages These books are very interesting and well written

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be quite long

I have read a few of Jodi Picoults books now, I find them very interesting, I always find myself really feeling for the characters. You get an insight in to how each individual character is feeling and how they cope wih the issue Jodi brings in to the story. Her books are always about a controversial subject where everyone reading it will have a different view and can bring out a debate quite easily. Jodi studied creative writing in Princeton and had two short stories published during her time at college in seventeen magazine. In 2003 Jodi Picoult was awarded New England Bookseller Award for ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Jodi Picoult by xx_sarabella_xx 11/08/2008
This book threw up so many questions about human morality. The boy in question was bullied so terribly all through his teenage years that he used that as his excuse for going on a rampage through his high-school with a gun. We see the story through his eyes, his devestated parents eyes, the tight-knit community, and a childhood friend whose boyfriend was killed in the attack. This book really opened my eyes to how there are always several sides to any event. It really made me think of all the people in the world who have been affected by a tradgedy ... more

Advantages Advantages absolutely brilliant and full of twists

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I have read every book that Jodi Picout has wrote and she has a unigue and spell binding way of captivating the audience and making us feel as if we are the character. The situations her boos are based on are so traumatic and head spinning that you can't help but wonder what you would do in that situation. Furthermore even if you don't agree with what happens at the end of the book in the sense that you would have done things differently, you can still emphathise with the characters and understand why they did what they did. Finally the twists and turns in all of her books leaves you guessing ... more
