Advantages: lasts ages, really great texture Disadvantages: very few
...Ryan. Apparently Sally Hersheberger from John Frieda designed the product on the set of 'You've Got Mail' specifically to texture Meg's hair (when she had that much copied textured cut). Whether that's true I don't know, but that's what my trusted copy of 'celebrity looks' told me at the time.
The magazine's since folded, but funky chunky is still going strong.
The product comes in a chunky, squeezy bottle with a good, fine nozzle that ensures ... ...get a good effect, so even though the bottle looks quite small, it lasts for ages. It's lilac in colour, which is supposed to neutralise the yellow / orange hue in a lot of blonde dyes. Saying that, I've know brunettes use this stuff too and it doesn't really make much difference. The texture is halfway between a gel and a cream, a kind of sticky, tacky liquid. But don't let that put you off. Because it's lighter than wax but more dense than serum, ...

Advantages: Holds style, great fun Disadvantages: Smells a bit strange
...first that I bought was John Frieda Sheer Blonde ‘Funky Chunky’. I bought Funcky Chunky from Boots, I only bought one of the small bottles, and it just so happened to be 3 for the price of 2. So I got two other products from the same mini range, which I’m sure will be privileged to their own ops on here.
Anyway, the small bottle that I bought comes in 25ml and costs £1.45. It’s a nice little size to test new products out, ... ...Theis product comes in a little plastic, squeezable bottle, with a screw off lid on the top. The product inside looks a purple colour, but not bright purple. The range Sheer Blonde is made especially for blonde hair, the products can be used on natural, colour treated or highlighted blondes.
Funky Chunky is a Sheers Veneer Texturiser, which I love the sound of! On the back of the little bottle there is some information about what you can do with ...

Advantages: Does the trick Disadvantages: Not many
I have dyed blonde hair which has been over heated with the straightening irons by far. My hair is graduated at the front, with a layer or two at the back. I have constantly tried various hair products to keep my layers at the front and back seperated so to speak, and to keep my hair looking styled for longer than the average hour or two which i have known. I came across a travel size version this product during a regular visit to Boots the chemist. ... ...full adverstised information. I am generally happy to try anything once (providing the cost is reasonable!)
A few days later upon doing my normal routine of washing, drying and ironing my hair, i remembered my new purchase was awaiting me! I applied a small amount into the palm of my hands as stated and applied to my dry hair at the ends of my hair. The results were great! However, i have the feeling that if too much is used, you will be left with ...

Advantages: lightweight, funky, gives hair an edge Disadvantages: sticky fingers after application!
It's like glue. Only for your hair. At least that's how my boyfriend described it. But as he thinks sticking his head under the tap is an acceptable styling routine. let's ignore his opinion.
I'm not blonde, but have light brown very fine hair. It's straight, straight, straight and gets flyaway to boot. Great! Anyway, I bought some Funky Chunky after having my hair cut into a chin-length layered bob; the nice lady at the hairdressers put wax through ... ...and ended up looking a bit greaseball.
I was looking for something that would separate my layers, add definition and above all, make me look cool! This is the product. It's easy to apply; a small squirt is enough for about a third of my hair. The dispenser is well-designed and you never end up covered in gunk or frustrated that you can't get any out of the bottle. I rub it between my fingertips and pull it gently through the ends of my hair. A dot ...

Advantages: just about everything! Disadvantages: I keep calling it chunky monkey!
I have to be honest and say that usually my hair is a nightmare! Its very thin and naturally curly, I'm one of those girls that just isn't happy with that and insists on straightening it nearly everyday. It would usually stay straight for a few hours then steadily go frizzy and then curly as the day or evening wore on. That was until I found funky chunky! (wow I sound like a really bad advert!) Seriously though it is an excellent product, it manages ... ...style I intended, unless i get caught in a freak rainstorm then i just have to put up with looking like goldilocks. I find it best to get a small amount in my hands and rub it from root to tip of damp hair before blow drying the straightening. It is a bit sticky on your hands, but I can't think of a hair product that isn't. The only time i've found it doesn't work to well, was when i was on holiday in Thailand, think maybe the combination of heat ...

Advantages: Great hold, amazing texture... Disadvantages: Don't like the smell!
I recently got my hair cut to my chin, in kind of a messy bob which I found really difficult to style... until I found this miracle worker! Sheer Blonde Funky Chunky is a one of a kind product- a cross between a wax and a gel, something which I have never seen before. There's no need for loads of messing about with brushes and straightners, with Funky Chunky you can add loads of texture in minutes. So get ready to mess it up! The other advantage ... ...lasts for agggggeeeessss and it doesn't make your hair greasy or really crispy and sticky like a normal gel or wax. Another thing I would like to point out is that I'm sure it would be great on all shades of hair. There are only two things I will say - It has a really strange smell (kind of like mens' aftershave.... but don't worry, you don't end up stinking of it!!!) and it is almost £5 a bottle and it probably won't last long, dependng on how much ...

Advantages: Adds style, lift and layers to dull, simple hair Disadvantages: Means you have to wash your hair more often
I have light ginger hair but when I recently had my hair cut in a layered bob I thought I would try this styling gel. Actually its not a gel, more of a thin film that you put through your hair and boy does it work! If you've ever wished you hair looked all rock-chick and funky like on the hair adverts this is what you should use.
Its in a tiny little bottle but don't let that put you off because you only need to use a tiny bit. I apply it all through ... ...I saw the result immediately when it was dried. Then, to make your layers look extra-defined if you just run atiny bit through the ends of your hair it makes such a difference.
This product is the only one I have found of its kind and the price is around £4 so its not a lot to pay. All my friends remarked on the difference it made as without this, my hair falls smoothly into a plain bob and all the layers I have are not very noticable. This product ...

...thought I would five the John Frieda Sheer Blonde range a go. The first product I have tried in the range is the styler called 'Funky Chunky' it's like a glaze that you use on your hair, and is good if you have layers, dont let the title put you off, it doesn't make your hair look 'chunky', it lifts the layers of your hair to make your hairstyle look funky, and good if you are going out for a night on the town, the styler does not weight your hair ...

Not sticky its not sticky at all like some other products and you only need a little and makes hair feel really nice.
Im a brunett and I use it so not just for blondes as they advertise on the tele and works well for me.
