My washing machine was fine until shortly after the 3 year warranty expired at which point it had had an identity crisis. It forgets what its supposed to be doing half way through a cycle and the control panel reverts to the begining of the session although the machine is half way through a wash and full of water. I then tend to put on the 30 minute wash cycle to try and get the clothes rinsed and spun.....which sometimes works although less and less as time goes on. The machine itself has worked ok, apart from poor rinse performance which meant that we had to have the 'extra rinse' function selected permanently. I believe that the machine is based on a Zanussi model that has been re-branded as a John Lewis. The main benefit of this was an extra year's guarantee (3 years) above that offered if we had bought the Zanussi equivalent. In the end though, this was academic because the machine has started to fail after 4 years. The spin cycle has become very noisy and sounds like a jet plane taking off.
