Advantages Advantages Easy to use site, great money saving deals to be found, reliable delivery

Disadvantages Disadvantages They got my order wrong! Missing pictures

I have a confession! I am one of those people who gets sucked into junk e-mails! And not only do I get sucked in enough to read them, I also end up spending vast amounts of money on them too! A couple of weeks ago I came across an online voucher entitling me to spend £30 with Johnlewis.com and get £10 off my first order. Now this was sorely tempting, I even got to the stage of confirming my order….only to be informed that the products that I wanted were out of stock. So I left it……until last week! Last week I received an e-mail via Ipoints telling me that if I placed an order ... more

Advantages Advantages Great order system, fantastic customer service, dicount codes, 0845 number.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some images incorrect, a bit expensive without the vouchers and they do charge for delivery.

I have to be honest with you - I've never been in a John Lewis shop in my life. I wouldn't even know where my nearest John Lewis is. I've always regarded them as an upmarket, expensive retailer more aimed at middle-aged, middle-class people... being an impoverished 24 year old, I didn't really think that John Lewis had anything to offer someone like me. But recently I've become very obsessed with online bargain hunting. Name a major online retailer and I can probably tell you the voucher codes they're currently offering and how much money you can save. John Lewis are undoubtedly the best ... more

Advantages Advantages Well laid out site and great product pictures

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not as much product choice as I'd like

John Lewis, the department store chain, now has online shopping available on johnlewis.com. I first regsitered about a year ago and received a £10 voucher via e-mail off my first order, so I went into the website and was pleased to find it was well laid out and very easy to navigate. All the products have great pictures so its like looking at a nice catalogue. I purchased a toy from the "baby" section and had it sent directly to friends as a christening gift. They reported it arrived 3 days later, no problems. After that I have used the site occasionally for gifts - there are nice selections ... more

Advantages Advantages Large range of goods delivered to your door

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not able to see and touch goods before purchase

Excellent range of goods, and choice of products. Even more than I would expect to find in store. The home page is too long. Otherwise well laid out, with attractive spacing, colours etc. The search facility worked very quickly and found what I was looking for. It would be nice to have an advanced search facility to give more details about the product searched for. The price is in fairly small type, but is still clear. I know enough to be able to make a purchase. Stock levels are displayed on the product page, saving the inconvienece of ordering and then finding out of stock. Using the ... more

Advantages Advantages Not the cheapest; good quality branded goods

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Delivery charges

First, I've got to say - I'm a convert to internet shopping, beat the crowds, choose at your leisure, at whatever time of day you want. I first used the johnlewis.com site about a year ago, mainly attracted because I had been sent some kind of money-off voucher, which was for £10. On that occasion I bought an item worth £20.00, the minimum amount I could spend using the voucher. It was a Swiss Army knife, actually. At the time it seemed to be a very competitive price. Delivery charges needed to be added on - £3.95 for standard delivery. If you buy more than £150 worth there is no charge for ... more

We have recently purchased a new kettle as our old one was so full of Limescale and the lid had broken! We decided to buy the Kenwood Energy Sense Kettle from Johnlewis.com as we had some gift vouchers left over from Christmas. The website itself is easy to find and operate. The home page has tabs on it which enable you to find the items that you are looking for a bit easier. These tabs include womens, mens, children, home, sport and leisure and gifts to name but a few. As you scroll over these tabs a drop down menu appears to give a better idea of what is available in these sections. There is ... more
