Advantages: Very comfortable Disadvantages: Expensive ( but my parents pay)
When I was in primary seven I remember coming home and working up the courage to tell my mum I couldn't read the blackboard. I was so nervous because I really didn't want glasses, my sister had them and so did my mum and dad. I enjoyed being able to say I have perfect vision but it was all going to change.
I got an opticians appointment and right enough I was short sighted, I got a new pair of glasses and over time became more dependant on them ... ...them all the time. As I do karate it is hard to fight with glasses on and one by one my other family members where getting contact lenses. I really wanted them but was told I was too young.
When I was in S1 I got told that I was old enough now and was aloud contacts, I was so excited at the thought of it and couldn't wait until the appointment.
At the opticians I was told that 1-day disposable would be the best for me as I am only a kid and might ...

...I first heard about Johnson & Johnson one day acuvue when I got a letter through the post from my optician, there was a special offer of free 30 day trial when you had an eyesight test. Advantages: Comfort, quantity and maintenance Disadvantages: Dealing with the opticians
I have been wearing some form of vision correction device since the age of nine. Which means I have been wearing glasses and contact lenses now for over 25 years.
When I first switched to contact lenses from glasses I was told I couldn't wear soft lenses because of my high astigmatism. They recommended rigid gas permeable lenses for me. Ofcourse I took this advice and decided to buy some. I wore gas permeable lenses every day for nearly eight years ... ...irritation. I also had to deal with the awful ritual of cleaning them and soaking them for at least eight hours a day and was advised to use protein remover tablets on them every week. The cleaning schedule was annoying not to mention the difficulties I had with rigid lenses in high winds, on the beach and the risk of them occasionally popping out.
Infact there was an occasion when i lost a lens down the sink whilst cleaning it and another occasion ...

Advantages: Easy to use, comfortable and hygienic Disadvantages: Cost more than other type of lenses
When I was a little girl I always wanted to wear glasses. I can remember “borrowing” my fathers glasses and parading round “looking” at my distorted image in every mirror around. At the age of thirteen I can remember being disappointed when my optician sent me away saying I had perfect vision. At the age of 17 I got my wish! I was learning to drive and found it hard to read a number plate at the require distance, at last I ... ...always want what you can’t have. When I didn’t need glasses I wanted them and when I got them I hated them. I purchased two pairs of glasses at the same time and wore them as often as possible for a few months. Then I got bored with them and just wore them occasionally until they ended up stored away in a drawer and taken out as little as possible.
A few years on I knew my eyesight was deteriorating and that I should really be wearing ...

...and Aitchison branch suggested the Johnson & Johnson acuvue one day daily disposal lenses as the best there is, a bit expensive maybe but definitely worth the money you pay if you want quality.
So I’ve started using them and boy was there a difference!!! So comfortable, you don’t feel like you wearing contact lenses all day. I have been wearing contacts for 8 years now, since the age of 16. Originally I was prescribed Gas Permable lenses, but found them very uncomfortable and hard to use, so moved onto soft contacts around 4 years ago. I have been using Acuvue Dailies for around 3 years.

Duration of wear varies from user to user, though I tend to wear them for around 10-14 hours without any problems, or change in comfort. Advantages: Clear vision, convenience and safety Disadvantages: Pricey
When I first got started wearing contact lenses over 12 years ago, I was scrupulous about following the cleaning instructions - clean and disinfect each night and a protein-removal soak once a week. Then I got lazy and as any optician will tell you, not taking care of contact lenses properly is dangerous.
So despite the expense, I started wearing 1-Day Acuvue. Then in a fit of madness (or should that be meanness), I decided to switch to Specsavers ... ...cheaper. That was a mistake.
It was a mistake because I have unusually flat corneas (as every optician I've ever visited delights in telling me) and so need a flatter lens to fit properly. The Specsavers ones only came in one fitting, so I just had to make do. The truth was, though I persevered for a year, they were uncomfortable. Also, because they didn't fit my eye properly, they didn't move properly when I moved my eyes, so my vision wasn't all ...

Advantages: Soooooooo comfortable - forget they are there. Disadvantages: So comfie that I've been known to sleep in them
Decided to try contact lens as I do alot of sport for which glasses aren't practical.... and to be honest I'm vain - I didn't lose my eyesight until I went to Uni - bad timing as prime pulling period in my life!!Something had to be done.... Having chatted to the optician I concluded that daily disposables were for me as I'm lazy and didn't fancy messing around with solutions etc. I travel alot playing sports so I could just pop a few contact lens ... ...of sterile solutions and lens holders for me.
Comfort:
I was so convinced that I would be in agony with bloodshot streaming eyes when I tried the lens but surprise suprise the lens felt so comfortable, I could hardly tell they were there. After a long day in a smoky atmosphere, my eyes do become more tired and red than if I was wasn't wearing lens.
Ease of use:
The lens are easy to put in, particularly as the lens have been marked with a number ...

Advantages: very thin and comfortable, don't have to clean them Disadvantages: a bit more expensive than longer lasting lenses in the long run
I was first given these lenses by D&A (I no longer go there for reasons I may write in another review). I now get them from an internet site. They are much cheaper but you will need to have an up to date prescription and contact lenses check up with an optician. If anyone wants to know the website let me know and I will find out. These have got to be the most comfortable lenses I have ever worn.
I don't tend to wear contact lenses too often because ... ...not supposed to wear lenses because the radiation from the screen drys your eyes out - there, you've learnt something today now. Dry eye syndome isn't nice.
Apart from not having to bother cleaning them because you just chuck them away when you take them out you also don't have to fork out for cleaner, lens holder etc. They are a tad more expensive than normal monthly lenses but I'm lazy so I'll pay extra.
The lenses are very thin, not so thin ...

...optician suggested me to use Johnson & Johnson contact lenses. I'm fed up with lenses cleaning, so I prefer a daily one. My optician advised me t Johnson & Johnson 1-Day Acuvue TruEye. Advantages: Most comfortable daily lenses around Disadvantages: Most expensive daily lenses around
I have been wearing contact lenses for the last 10 years and over the years I've tried hard, soft, gas permeable, long lasting, monthlies, weeklies and dailies. I also tried every brand available from opticians own brand to the major suppliers that you can buy everywhere but for some reason, until recently, I had never tried Accuvue. I have always suffered with dry eyes so about 5 years ago my optician recommended I switched to dailies. I went through ... ...comfortable. 3 years later and after 2 lenses had ripped in my eye, I was getting at least 1 ripped lenses in every carton and I had lost the second lens in a month behind my eye I decided I needed a change. My optician recommended Acuvue but warned me that although they were the most popular they were also the most expensive. I decided I had nothing to lose and started a 5 day trial.
After a day I realised why. These lenses are so comfortable you ...

Advantages: OK packaging, throwaway Disadvantages: Became uncomfortable after 6 hours, v.thin and flimsy.
D&A prescribed me with these daily lenses about a year ago instead of 3monthly replacements.
Through the week, I only wear glasses but the odd evening and weekends, I wear lenses, as they're not the best when you're staring at a screen all day.
The cost.
~£10 a month for 10 sets, so a £1 a pair. D&A can send them to you for free which is good. However, you can get cheaper lenses by ordering them online, there are some cheap sources in the US & ... ...from your optician and then topping up online.
The product
I found these lenses extremely flimsy and quite hard to put in. Having used thicker lenses for 18 months, they got quite annoying. The packets are not the easiest to open.
The throwaway option is great, especially when you've come home and had one too many and can't be bothered cleaning the lenses. Also, if you lose/drop them, you can just grab another which is sterile and ready for use.

For around thirty years I have worn contact lenses, i was one of the first people to try them when they were launched many decades ago. I find glasses very restrictive, so always wear contact lenses. Unlike monthly lenses, daily ones can be disposed of more regularly dispensing the need to carefully remove and clean them, saving ... ...are more expensive.
In the following review when referring to ACUVUE lenses, I make reference to the new version with handling tint, 123 indicator, and higher water content. There are several major brands, I have tried CIBA vision, ACUVUE and Bausch& Lomb. CIBA lenses seemed very thin, and felt gritty (you know the feeling when your lenses are in inside out) when put in intially, taking a good five minutes to feel more comfortable. The Bausch & ...
