Advantages Advantages Tans skin very well.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

I have very fair skin, I do not ever go out in the sun without some kind of sun lotion because I would burn very easily. I hate it when the summer months arrive and I wear a skirt and my legs are so white. I don’t mind so much with the rest of my body parts but my legs I just cannot bear the pale colour and so I need a little help and so I bought this lotion to help give them a little bit of colour. It comes in a bright yellow, plastic bottle with a flip back lid. It is a slim line bottle and so very easy to hold. It has quite a wide hole at the top of the bottle to release the lotion. Advantages Advantages Satiny smooth moisturised skin with a healthy glow

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Stained palms

I had nearly run out of my usual body moisturiser and was trawling the shelves of my local Morrison supermarket to see what special offers they could tempt me with. Then my eyes alighted on an end of aisle display of Johnson's Holiday Skin Body Lotion. The offer was for a double pack of 250 ml bottles of various different versions of this product for £4.99. I thought this seemed pretty good value as I usually pay around that for 500 ml of a basic moisturiser, so I stopped for a better look (not that easy as it was the Saturday before Christmas and the shop was heaving!) There were several ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages strong lingering smell, can be a bit streaky if poorly applied

So, Spring is upon us and the urge to rid ourselves of that white pastiness (or in my case a transparent blueness) has taken hold. My skin is pale, paler than pale so I am always on the lookout for something that will give my skin that natural glow. I don't want to be a golden goddess or a bronzed beauty, I certainly don't want to be a tangerine temptress...i just want to not be talcum powder white. So, I've decided to try Johnson's Holiday Skin Body Lotion. Now, sit back and let me regale you with my yarn...(although given the product, it probably won't be as entertaining as i lead you to ... more

As a confessed sun-worshipper I spent the early part of summer dashing home ,racing to get my deckchair out and sprawling in the garden to get as many precious rays as possible . Occasionally the short I had time I had was extended as my hubby would have all the necessary in place. I get home about 4pm and ,even in the height of summer ,the sun only lasts on the garden till about 6.15pm ,at the very latest .By this time I am right up against the garage having shuffled the chair further and further along following the sun .Sad eh. I know this is very naughty and although I wear sun cream feel ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a good moisturiser & hard to get off

As it is coming up to the summer months and I start to expose more of my body (ok I know its not a pretty sight but it has to be done!) I get very self conscious of my white skin, which lets face it doesn't look too spectacular when wearing white skirts and tops. I don't mind the pasty look in the winter but once summer arrives I like to look my best. I won't lie to you I am a big lover of sun beds and yes I do know the risks but they are like a packet of cigarettes you know that it could kill you but the addiction is very hard to curb. I heard a lot about Johnson's holiday skin body lotion ... more

    Advantages Advantages Smells nice, erm....

Disadvantages Disadvantages Uneven stubborn colour, no directons, no SPF.......

When I look back at some of my beauty decisions and choices over the years I wonder what on earth I was thinking at the time. I'm frustrated with myself at the moment and need a lot of patience as I try and grow out the very dark brown colour from my naturally blonde/mousy hair. I don't regret dyeing my hair and have enjoyed wearing it dark, but now I've made the decision to return to my natural colour I have to wait for the old to grow out. I check my roots everyday to see how much it's grown (like a child, I know) and find the whole experience tedious. When I first went dark I realised my ... more

The Horror of Self-tan I can't really, in good conscience describe my legs as white. They are more of a slightly mirky translucent colour. Perhaps this is because my legs were not built for the oh-so-trendy short shorts so popular this summer. Or maybe it is because I haven't so much as looked at a bikini for most of my adult life due to my fear of the un-forgiving wobbly bits four squares of cloth fail to hide. Or maybe it is because I live in Scotland and the sun is usually as elusive as the Loch Ness Monster. I have managed to earn myself a fairly admirable natural bronze on my arms, face ... more

Pale and interesting. That was how people thought a lady's skin should be. Large brimmed hats were worn and a lady would always shade her face from the sun. Things have changed over the years and most people want to have a suntan, because not only do they think it looks healthy but they feel more attractive. Believe it or not, the ladies in previous centuries were quite right in shading the sun from their faces, (the only bit of their body that was left uncovered!) as we now know that our skin can be damaged, so people sought other ways to tan their skin. I'm too young, but I'm told that ... more

Advantages Advantages I love everything about this

Disadvantages Disadvantages There are none at all I can think of

I am a fan of the fake tan, and I don’t mean the sun bed sort – far too unhealthy for my liking. I much prefer the tan you can achieve in a bottle. I have tried SO many different sorts of fake tanning lotions over the past few years I have honestly lost count of just how many I have actually used (not to mention how much money I must have spent). I often find that the cheaper varieties are the best and it really is not worth paying loads of money for something you can achieve just as well for a fraction of the cost. Before I started to use Johnson’s Holiday Skin Body Lotion I was using a ... more

It's that time of year again, the time when I'm desperate to be as brown as possible with minimal effort. I'm constantly looking for products that will help me maintain what little tan I have without actually using fake tan. This year I have stopped using sun beds forever, after one particular 'This Morning' real life mini documentary really struck home. We all know the dangers so I'm not going to go into them here, but I am now a sun bed free zone. This means that I have the great British sun and the availability of products like Johnson's Holiday Skin. I found this little gem of a product ... more
