Because my eyebrows are naturally a bushy nightmare, I have 'fat-person' paranoia - although they are much slimmer and tidier than they used to be, I can't help comparing mine with other peoples - are theirs in better shape? What tweezers do they use? Will anyone realise my carefully shaped brows used to be hairy, shapeless rectangles? I even forked out 12 quid for a pair of tweezers - it was painful but an investment! Advantages Lasts ages and works.
Disadvantages The fact you look like an idiot while doing it.

From time to time we all have hang ups about certain parts of our anatomy, some of these stem from name calling as kids, or mine certainly do. I have dark skin, eyes and hair because of this the hair on my body is also dark so more obvious than it would be on a blonde. As a teenager I took a lot of stick about this and it has made me very paranoid about it, especially my top lip. Jolen Crème Bleach I'd say body hair is one of my biggest pet hates. Being a brunette does give you long dark eyelashes and silky dark hair but it also gives you dark body hair, which in my opinion is the only downside. I spend a fortune on waxing, shaving and jolen creme bleach to stay hair-free, and wait patiently (like many women) for the day that they invent a pain-free, do-it-yourself, in-inexpensive way to illuminate unsightly body hair forever. What a lovely picture I paint of myself but being dark haired of Italian descent I do have hairier arms than the average English Rose......I do however have bonuses, don't sunburn and go very dark skinned in the summer months so I guess I shouldn't complain about the slight 'chimp looking' arms!! Stuck in the house with an horrendous cold, very little on tv except for Soapstar Superstars or Celebrity BB my eyes wandered to inspecting my arms and what a shock I got.....with the pre-Christmas panic buying and frivolities I hadn't really thought about checking this area but the hairs look oh so ... more

As a dark-haired girl, I am not ashamed to admit that I use a bleach to lighten facial hair. Yes, I might look funny doing it, but in my opinion I'd look a hell of a lot funnier with a moustache! Don't get me wrong, I'm no bearded lady, but I've been using Jolen for several years because it just makes me feel more confident about something that, let's face it, most girls have, especially brunettes. For me, bleaching is a far less scary prospect than waxing my upper lip - stumpy regrowth hairs might look funnier than if I'd left well alone! - and it is a painless, quick way of tackling hair a ... more

Jolen bleach is a cream that bleaches hair blonde. The purpose of this is to make unwanted hair invisible/less visible. So this only works if you have light skin and dark hair. If dark hair is bleached on a person with dark skin then the blonde dye would stand out and therefore defeats the point. I came across this bleach as my mum used and so I tried it at a young age. The bleach can be used to lighten skin on upperlip, chin, tummy, arms and toes according to the company. I have only used it on upperlip so I can only comment on this. If you are reading this then you probably also have the dreaded problem of a hairy top lip!!! So you have looked at other methods of getting rid of this fine hair. Waxing, which is painful, or shaving which is not a very reliable method as the hair comes back stubbly and coarser, plus you need to do it very frequently. So you opt for bleaching. Jolen is the only brand name I have heard of. I usually go for brands as I don't think some shop brands are up to scratch. Now you've bought your pack of Jolen. Introduction I have been using Jolen Creme bleach roughly for about 10 years now and I am very happy using this brand. I have very dark hair and so this product has prooved very handy for lightening dark hair. Basically to make a long story short, this bleach lightens excess dark hair! You can use on your upper lip, chin, tummy, arms and toes. There is also a milder version available which contains aloe vera. I tend to use the milder formula as I have very sensitive skin. I was desperate to get rid of my 'tache. Now, my hair colour is a dark blonde, and although my body hair is basically invisible, like blonde baby hair, someone obviously thought it was funny to give me a gene that turned my facial hair light brown. My eyebrows are more of a blonde, like my hair, so they blend in, but my 'tache is brown. Noticeably brown. Also I am quite a hairy person (sorry if thats TMI!). I have been using the sensitive formula Jolen cream bleach to lighten dark hair on my upper lip and 'snail trail' (belly area) for at least six months; so far I have been very pleased with my experiences. It's very embarrassing to have to do such a thing, however I think it's worth it. For the past month or so I have also been using it as a gentler way to bleach my 'down there' hair - which has been surprisingly successful!
