    I had heard many good things about joop, and after thinking it was time for a change in aftershave I decided to take a smell of one of the sample bottles on my travels at superdrug in local shopping centre... You haven't smelt anything like this, it really is beautiful if I must say, and amongst the other aftershaves I like this one definately wins. The bottle is transparant with a dark murky purple twist lid that tightens easily and opens just as easily.     Wednesday Dec 3rd 2008 yours truly has reached the ripe old age of 54. So it's just another birthday and I'll get the usual After Eights and a pack of cigars. To some that may not sound a lot, but we have since the birth of our son made a pact not to spend a fortune on presents especially birthdays, just a little something to say Happy Birthday and a reminder that you haven't been forgotten.     If I told you there was an aftershave that would guarantee women and men (if that floats your boat) falling over themselves to get near you, you would probably think I was mad. Well, yes, I am mad, but I can honestly say that Joop Homme Eau de Toilette is this aftershave. Joop has been around since 1989 and is rather an expensive aftershave costing £35 for a 75ml spray from www.escentual.co.uk. It is widely available from most online perfume retailers, Boots, Bodycare and House of Fraser.     Joop! So good they named it with an exclamation mark. So great they made it appear almost arrogant in it's naming. A risk? Of course, this stuff is a cracking aftershave and fragrance. Joop is the brain child of German fashionist Wolfgang Joop, so no need to question where he got the name from...Other than that, it's not very exciting - since 1997, Joop's products have been sold through Joop GmbH, which is clearly visible on the side of the packaging, and here is there main male product - "Homme."     I think it is time to have a go at reviewing a fragrance today. I first had a go at reviewing CK in 2 U shortly after joining dooyoo a year or so ago, and it was painful for me, but hopefully a year on this may be a little easier. Joop Homme, Eau de toilette first came to my attention some 14 years ago as a present from my parents. At the time I really liked it, and I used to wear a splash of it for work each day.     There is nothing more refreshing for us men than having a shave and dowsing on aftershave. I have tried a lot of different aftershaves but I always preffered Joop. Ok I will admit it is not one of the best colours to choose for an aftershave but once you get used to the fact that it is a strange pink colour you are already half way to liking it. It also comes in a psychadelic kind of pink box with Joop Homme Aftershave on the front.     I bought a bottle of this a few weeks ago as an alternative to the other normal aftershave I have in my collection. I decided to try something different and Joop is very different to other aftershaves. Unlike most aftershave which have a spicy aroma Joop is more like a perfume. I would say it has a blossom scent like a strong flower like fuschia but there is a fruity aroma also. It is very pleasant and refreshing to spray on in the morning.     One Christmas my sister had bought her husband a bootle of Joop homme, just before she wrapped it she sprayed my neck with it and wow! Such a wonderful aroma. Well that was it i was hooked, i went home demanding my wife buy me one for xmas. Luckily for me she did (a small one) which didn't last too long. A few months later we went to abroad on holiday and in the duty free shop i spotted a 125ml bottle and paid about £25 for it. I personally think this is alot of money for aftershave, but would recommend it to all. But using it sparingly, it's lasted over a year and that wonderful aroma stays ... more

    I Absolutly LOVE this aftershave, i am a woman but i love any man with this on! I have to admit i do own a small bottle of Joop, i don't wear it, I just love the smell.     I'm a woman & I just fell in love with this aftershave when a male friend wore it (though I didn't fall in love with the friend!). It's such an unusal aftershave, completely different from any other mens fragrances (which are usually oceany/pine smells). Because I loved it so much I asked my husband to buy me some Joop for men for my brithday and luckily I got a huge bottle!
