    Big thanks to yhwman for giving me the confidence to write this op! I’m the first to admit I’m not an expert on Formula One, I’m a girlie after all. But I am a huge fan of the sport, speed, the strategy element, the drivers (just can’t get enough of men in hard helmets, ahem!), and in particular, the Jordan team. I guess it’s more to do with the man himself, Eddie Jordan, rather than anything to do with the best Formula One car, or the team with the best technological and speed advancements.     EJ or Eddie Jordan was a man with a mission when he founded the Jordan team in 1991. 10 years on in 2001 he's still on that mission. Though he has come far in a decade he still hasn't managed to get a Jordan car to win a championship title. EJ has his own style of managing slightly relaxed but determined.You could say, 'never say die', if you know what I mean. The Honda engine package was well ok and it was in close competition with fellow Honda users BAR.     Disadvantages Disadvantages 2000 track performance not as good as 1999.

    Jordan have had an excellent 2000 season, despite their lack of frequent points finishes compared to last year. Their true success lies not in how they have performed this year, but in how they have prepared themselves for 2001. Eddie Jordan has succeeded where many others (Sauber, Prost, Minardi) have failed in securing a top-line engine deal for next year when they will run Honda engines.     Jordan are one of the only teams in the last ten years to have actually managed firstly to survive and secondly to actually have a reasonable amount of success. Where as Pacific and Simtek fell by the wayside, Jordan has managed to continue and even prosper. The Team was set-up in 1991 and is based at Silverstone. They have had a number of famous drivers including Michael Schumaker who had his first formula one drive with this team before moving onto Beneton.     After a very successful qualifying for Jordan at the Belgian Grand Prix I am very disappointed at only one point being achieved by the team. With Jarno Trulli starting in second position I was confident that this could be the turning point of the season. After an incident with Button after only 4 laps I was to return home disappointed again. What has happened to the team which last year looked like it was closing in on Ferrari and McClaren ? This season has been full of retirements or no point finishes. Spa has in the past proved a very successful hunting ground for the Jordan team. In ... more

    I am suprised to be looking at the drivers and constructors tables after 6 races this season and seing the following statistics: Constructors championship 4th Place - 13 points Drivers championship 6th Trulli - 7 points 8th Frentzen - 6 points This is just unacceptable after such promising pre season running. Every year they say next year will be the year for Jordan. Top 3 finish. Yet every year we are left disappointed. Ok, 4th is respectable but when you consider they will soon be overtaken by Sauber, and a long behind the top 3,its not that good. I hoped Eddie Jordans team had put in the ... more

    Jordon is not a bad car, but they are not doing as well as they were last year. It is not a bad package and was once said to be the best of the rest, but now Williams, Benneton and even BAR, are getting the better of them. So this mid field battle of teams, are quite even. Jordon haven't won many races, and there is great team spirit with Eddie Jordon around the pits. It is a nice outfit, and also a fairly good driver combination. Some reliablity problems, and some silly mistakes from drivers could have been avoided, but all round a very nice team. ... more

    What has happened to Jordan?? I imagined that they would be up there with Maclaren and Ferarri last year scrapping for constructors points but instead they were propping up the also rans. Why was this?? Poor winter development? It hurt them so much that Eddie Jordan, the team owner, cancelled the Christmas Party. So what was the reason? The loss of Damon Hill (no way)? A bad Car? Engine? Well a combination I think The engine that Mugen delivered could not match the pace of the big boys.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Always struggling to play catch-up with the big two

    You can't help but love Jordan...or I can't at least. Ever since they first burst onto the scene back at the start of the nineties, they have shown incredibly promise and are just starting to bring their potential to the forefront. It is easy to say that after the big two, Jordan Grand Prix are with the following group and near the front of that too. The 2001 season will be a make or break year for them though.
