I guess it’s more to do with the man himself, Eddie Jordan, rather than anything to do with the best Formula One car, or the team with the best technological and speed advancements. Eddie is simply one of the nicest, liveliest and most fair team owners you could wish to meet. His flamboyant nature and ever-ready smile adds to his appeal and you can always count on EJ to be the life and soul at those ... ...for Eddie is obvious.
Jordan has a relatively short history in the sport compared to say, Ferrari. But their sheer enthusiasm and dedication to the sport has resulted in a great deal of success for Eddie, currently with Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jarno Trulli as number one and two drivers, although Trulli seems to be outclassing his team mate at present. Advantages: Glamarous quite fast cars. Disadvantages: More motivation and hopefully more reliability
EJ or Eddie Jordan was a man with a mission when he founded the Jordan team in 1991. 10 years on in 2001 he's still on that mission. Though he has come far in a decade he still hasn't managed to get a Jordan car to win a championship title. EJ has his own style of managing slightly relaxed but determined.You could say, 'never say die', if you know what I mean. The Honda engine package was well ok and it was in close competition with fellow Honda ... ...the lime light.
The Jordan car of this year is as ever stunningly created with a design modified from previos years. Jordan are probably the most well known teams in the world with thier glamarous approach with pit babes,merchandise fit for Armani stores and great celeb followings. There is however a great room for improvement. The drivers need to be more focused and motivated than last year. Especially HHF who I think has still to show his true ...

Advantages: Everything in place for 2001: Drivers, Engine, Designer. Disadvantages: 2000 track performance not as good as 1999.

Advantages: A Team on the up! Disadvantages: Likely to disappoint
Jordan are one of the only teams in the last ten years to have actually managed firstly to survive and secondly to actually have a reasonable amount of success. Where as Pacific and Simtek fell by the wayside, Jordan has managed to continue and even prosper. The Team was set-up in 1991 and is based at Silverstone. They have had a number of famous drivers including Michael Schumaker who had his first formula one drive with this team before moving ... ...poor year so far for Jordan. It is my belief that Jordan have had there brief period of fame at the front of the grid and will fade back into the middle order to rejoin the likes of Beneton, while teams like Williams regain their top flight positions. ...

Advantages: One point achieved Disadvantages: Only one car finished the race
...a very successful qualifying for Jordan at the Belgian Grand Prix I am very disappointed at only one point being achieved by the team. With Jarno Trulli starting in second position I was confident that this could be the turning point of the season. After an incident with Button after only 4 laps I was to return home disappointed again. What has happened to the team which last year looked like it was closing in on Ferrari and McClaren ? This season ... ...successful hunting ground for the Jordan team. In previous years they have even recorded a victory here with Damon Hill and I hoped that a podium place would have been a reality,however the best we could manage was Frentzen in sixth place and one point. For a team that has now survived ten years in F1 the gap between the teams should be closing and not widening.
Lets hope that at Monza, in front of his home fans Trulli can finally turn in a performance ...

Advantages: A great car once Disadvantages: this season its too slow
...through lack of trying. Eddie Jordan seems to bend over backwards for his team and so do his employees. Its just gremlins that spoil it.
Whether it be the grip problems of last season or the electronic curse of this year, something always affects the team.
At the last Grand Prix, (A1 Ring Austria) both cars were stranded on the grid after failures of electrics.
If Eddie is to succeed, he needs some help form his Irish Lady Luck.

Advantages: Nice team. Disadvantages: Not as competitive
Jordon is not a bad car, but they are not doing as well as they were last year. It is not a bad package and was once said to be the best of the rest, but now Williams, Benneton and even BAR, are getting the better of them. So this mid field battle of teams, are quite even.
Jordon haven't won many races, and there is great team spirit with Eddie Jordon around the pits. It is a nice outfit, and also a fairly good driver combination. Some reliablity ...

The 2001 season will be a make or break year for them though. After the incredible successes in 1998, their first GP win at Spa with Damon Hill and followed home by Ralf Schumacher in a Jordan 1-2, and then 1999's successes with Heinz Harold Frentzen and Damon Hill, 2000 was a relative disaster. Not only had they lost out on the race for the works ... ...the Mugen Honda and more specifically their gearboxes kept breaking down. It has to be the biggest come down season they have suffered after so many promising years.
The one key thing for them to work on, apart from mechanical reliability, is race strategy. Ferrari and McLaren are always strategically and tactically far advanced to Jordan. The loss of two of their best blokes won't help, but I'm sure that if they get their tactical hat on, they ...

...units not customer engines like Jordan were subjected to. They always make nice looking motor cars and Trulli and Frentzen are no slouches off the grid so it had to be the car somewhere. This year they look a different kettle of fish. The hunger is back alongside dual Works engine deal with BAR. The car looks sleek and Frentzen looks back to his best. a lot was expected of jordan,my favourite team this year after their 3rd place constructors finish last time around.They have not quite met the expectations and hopes of most people,but have two good drivers in trulli and frentzen.I feel that the performance of the cars in qualifying is one contributor to why the team has not done as well as it could,and perhaps should have so far this season. they currently lie 6th in the standings,when they were ...

...in the back of a Jordan they would be champions. It was a very slow start, but with the help of Damon Hill, they won there first race at Spa with a Jordan 1, 2 after a very funny race. The weather had a big play in the matter, and once Michael Schumacher hit the back of David Coulthard McLearn on lap 31, and with the 1996 world champion in 2nd and his team mate in 3rd with no real challangers, the race was set. For one it was nice to see Honda being ... ...season when Jordan won another 2 races, BAR took control as Honda started to power 2 teams. This slowed down the R&D and after Honda admiting to that they will only power 1 team in 2003, Jordan were going to be the lossers. Jordan and Ford where put together after a 10 year split. ...laughing. Maybe the news that Jordan will be using full Honda works engines next season will be something to look forward to but this won’t help their current situation. They were doing better last year and with Damon Hill at the end of his career, Frentzen was looking good. I do hope that Trulli and Frentzen have a better end to their season than they did the start. Every year it seems that Jordan get better and better, and as they do this they seem to be able to attract the better drivers. I don't really have a favourite team in Formula 1, but I always like to see the British teams doing well and it is nice to see that Jordan are probably the third best team in front of Williams and behind Ferrari making McClaren the outstanding team.
