Disadvantages Disadvantages The game crashes a lot; John Hammond has an annoying accent

This park building simulation/shoot 'em up game is lots of fun but it's also very difficult in places. WHAT IS THE GAME? The game is based on the 1993 film "Jurassic Park". It was released in 2003. The basic premise is that you are going to build, design, maintain and run your own Jurassic Park. You have to breed the dinosaurs and put them on display in your zoo in as "natural" a habitat as possible. People are paying to see these creatures. You have to keep visitors safe, entertained and happy and the dinosaurs happy all in the name of profit. Be careful you don't put down poisonous plants or ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Graphics and sound, Quite addictive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not really suitable for younger children

Jurassic Park Operation Genesis is quite an addictive game. It is a strategy / simulation game with a bit of a difference in that it involves dinosaurs as well as people. BACKGROUND / GAMEPLAY ---------------------------------------- In this game you have to create and maintain a dinosaur zoo enabling your visitors to see how dinosaurs would behave in their natural habitat. Your first task is to create secure enclosures for the dinosaurs with electric fences, security cameras , ranger stations etc to ensure the safety of your visitors. You have to keep an eye on these enclosures because they ... more

Advantages Advantages Good fun and cheap to get hold of

Disadvantages Disadvantages No real replay value

This game is an interesting and welcome addition to the Jurassic Park franchise and one that really explores the possibility of the premise from a business stand point, one that in the films always drove the characters to commit acts of increasing stupidity in exchange for the chance of vast wealth. The game is basically 'Theme Park' only with a dinosaur zoo slant. You have been charged with developing the park from a bare island (which you yourself pick from a number of potential sites) into a thriving, money making behemoth. As you develop the island you will need to build certain essential ... more

Advantages Advantages Addictive, fun and you get to see dinosaurs as they once lived

Disadvantages Disadvantages Graphics not the best

Well i have to start off by telling you that this is an amazing game. You get to run your own dinosaur theme park, earn money and buy upgrades, what more could you want in a game. Lets start off with the basic geist of the game, well you start off where you have an empty piece of land which is going to turn out to be your dinosaur theme park. You have to start by making a dinosaur enclosure for the dinosaurs. And once you have hatched your first dinosaur you can open your theme park. Once you have opened your park you can then do many different things e.g open shops, rides, toilets and many ... more

I have to admit I did not hold much hope for this PC game from Universal, having played Bullfrog's Theme Hospital last year and been thoroughly disappointed with the lack of basic control and layout. And so expecting a quick blast and then back to something more sport orientated by EA SPORTS, I installed the CD. I had little reason to worry, the stunning graphics and infectious game play soon had me hooked, in fact I had trouble tearing myself away to write this review. As no doubt you all know the series of films of the same name, where John Hammond's Jurassic Park brings dinosaurs to life so ... more

Amusement park simulations are among the best-selling games on the PC market today. Their popularity should come as no surprise, because these simulations can appeal to such a broad audience--men, women, and children alike. What is surprising is that almost all games based on the Jurassic Park license to date have been action games, while the premise of the original movie was the creation of the world's greatest zoological park. Universal Interactive has finally taken the logical step with Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, a strategy game that lets players create and manage a dinosaur zoo ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Limted dig sites explain below

like jurassic park? love this game! jurassic park operation genesis is another one of these amazingly popular management games but with a slight twist. with most management games the games task is to manage a business or company etc, so there is no missions, jurassic park is different, you get to do herding missions, rescue missions, and photographic missions. the management side of jurassic park is excellent, you build the park, choose dig sites dig for fossils, sell the and buy them, kill and make dinosaurs, and even kill people, if your in that mood. Advantages Advantages Get to look after your own dinosaurs and the graphics are great and so is the gameplay

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not really any

A great game with great gameplay and excellent graphics, one of the best games I have paid. All the dinosaurs look almost real. The game is about looking after dinosaurs and having a lot of people experiance the fun, you have a choice out of: Small Carnivores Large Carnivores Small Herbivores Large Herbivores. It is best not to stick the carnivores in with the herbivores because otherwise the carnivores will kill the herbivores. You have to build a fence around the dinosaurs so they don't get around the park and scare or maybe even kill the people and it will stop them from coming to your park ... more

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is an enjoyable game that should appeal to dinosaur buffs and park simulation fans alike, thanks to its attractive graphics engine and unique features. Amusement park simulations are among the best-selling games on the PC market today. Their popularity should come as no surprise, because these simulations can appeal to such a broad audience--men, women, and children alike. While the genre tends to lose a bit of its charm in the transition from PC to console, the main gameplay usually remains intact. Most of the games based on the Jurassic Park license to date ... more
