Kari Me Baby Carrier

We bought this baby carrier/sling on the recommendation of a friend who had one and raved about it. We already had a Mothercare own-brand baby carrier, but found that it did not support our newborn baby particularly well and felt a little loose and unstable. I bought a Kari-Me after seeing a very comfortable looking baby sleeping in one. I had a chat to the babies mother and decided to give it a try. I did already own a few slings so carrying my baby was not a new experience. My favourite sling at the time was a pouch sling, which enabled my baby to lie in a cradled position. I won't go into too much detail about the benefits and joys of baby wearing/slinging as all this information can be found by searching Google. However, I can highly recommend this sling instead of the more conventional baby carriers available on the high street. The Kari-Me is the only wrap-around sling I have used but I am very happy with it. I purchased this carrier recently after my baby got too heavy for my Baby Bjorn carrier. I was interested in the weight distribution which claimed to be better than other carriers. Well may I asure you that this really is the case! My baby is 20lbs now (4 months old!) and I can use this for a few hours without getting back ache! The fabric wrap around system means that the weight is distributed around you waist and on your back rather than just pulling on your shoulders. Kari Me is the forth baby carrier I tried with my two children. I wish I had it with my first baby. It's by far more comfortable than anything else, you just don't feel the weight of your baby at all (mine is weighing 22lb now). the weight is distributed so well, and the fabric is so soft that you can carry your baby for many hours! I have been using it for breastfeeding and calming my colicky baby. Now I use it mainly for shopping and travelling and my baby is old enough to use side and back carry.
