2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R

Advantages: Performance, big bike looks, handling.
Disadvantages: No centre stand, narrow mirrors.

I own a 2008 Ninja 250R. I've owned the bike for 10 months now and this is my experience so far. When it comes to looks this bike excells. In the showroom I could hardly tell the difference between the big bikes and this one. It just looks great and really sporty. I've taken the bike on quite a long ride and I'm 5 10'. By the end my legs were a bit stiff and aching but not really bad. The seating position overall is comfortable. On the negative ...
...are narrow and took me a while to get used to them. I'm now used to moving my elbow in before glancing in the mirror. Also, I've read in some reviews that the bike has a fuel gauge but it doesn't. All it has is a fuel reserve light to tell you when you are getting low. Don't get me wrong these are all very minor things. Performance on this bike is incredible. If you're going from a 125 to this you will be blown away with the power it really is quite ...

Great for vertically challenged!

Advantages: Fast for a 250, good for shorter people and light.
Disadvantages: Not so good when turning and balance issues when going straight.

The Kawasaki 250R is an excellent little bike, but don't let that fool you! It's fast, and for a light rider, you can get around 115-120 MPH!! The biggest interest in the 250 Ninja for a lot of people is that it's one of the lowest seat heights for a sports (road) bike you can get. At just a little over 29 inches, it's perfect for shorter riders. I am a guy, 5ft 2in and have an inseam of 30 inches. While I can never get on a bigger bike, such as ...
...Ninja and with my weight 116lbs, the seat drops to about 28 inches almost. A short lady, for example, at 5 feet will have an inseam of 27 to 28, and she can flat foot. I sure can, and I have always had trouble with finding a bike to suit my size. The 250 Ninja has a pretty fast acceleration, and because it's light, it can accelerate faster than some of the bigger bikes! For such a small bike, it packs a lot of punch, and the parts are so widely ...

1994 Ninja EX250R/FUN!!!

Advantages: Light, fun, and nimble
Disadvantages: Skinny tires

I bought the bike brand new in 1994, US (California) specifications. I used to own an Honda Interceptor 750 but too heavy for me. I wanted a light sports bike and really, I only had two choices in 250 class in US, Honda or Kawasaki. The day that I saw the bike, I loved the way she looks. Sexy, light and quick for it's size. I am pretty light so she's got enough power for me, I love the rev happy engine with 14,000 rpm redline! I took her home a week ...
...with purple spider webs all over. The six speed transmission is accurately spaced with the engine rpm range. Excellent brakes! The disc brakes both in front and back provides outstanding stopping power! I like having both center and side stand, makes it easier to oil the chain, I perform all of the maintenance with the bike and she has been really reliable. I have never had a problem, starts all the time. I currently logged 14,000 miles after 9 years. ...

Never again

Advantages: Cheap , looks good ,fast , economical
Disadvantages: Unreliable , poor resale value , lack of parts available

i bought an old 250 ninja a year ago , and have had nothing but trouble with. Constant overheating , wheel bearings , unable to get parts , unreliability and lots of money. Within 5 miles of riding it , the bike had overheated and the engine stalled. It cost me over five hundred pounds to get the engine in a good working order , it would have been cheaper to buy a recon engine , but there aren't any out there. And the bike is still sounding rough. ...
